Hi, I have a repeating issue when I run the cleaning cycle with the tablet in the group head. Dirty water leaks out from underneath the machine and the container I place under the group head to catch the water from the cleaning cycle hardly fills, maybe 1cm deep max. What's happening here please!

Hi Vic. What you are describing is perfectly normal for the group head cleaning cycle. Minimal water should come out through the group head as the majority of the water gets flushed back through the group head and is expelled into the drip tray through the dump valve. So at the end of the cycle, your drip tray should be pretty full with water and there shouldn't be much in the container you have under the group head.

Thermal block might be malfunctioning. The unit's still under warranty; go and get Sunbeam to sort it.

I've had my EM7000 for less than two months, and I had three separate double shots put water inside the head without extracting coffee. Now coffee is extracting, but the group head 2 cup (auto-drip) setting isn't working, I have to manually press the button to stop coffee extraction. When I turn on the machine, every button except the 'Program' button shows up red. When I press 'Program,' it stays red for about 20 seconds ('Manual' button turns off) then 'Program' turns off again and 'Manual' light returns. I've re-setted back to factory settings, but the machine still turns on with all buttons except 'Program.' How do I get my 2 shot auto-drip setting back on so I don't have to manually stop the coffee extraction (at the same strength etc as 2 shot button factory setting)?

I am not sure exactly what you mean on a few things but I'll run through how the machine is suppose to work first.
You say:
1. "When I turn on the machine, every button except the 'Program' button shows up red." This is correct.
2. "When I press 'Program,' it stays red for about 20 seconds ('Manual' button turns off) then 'Program' turns off again and 'Manual' light returns." This is correct.
3. "I've re-set back to factory settings, but the machine still turns on with all buttons except 'Program." This is correct.

I am not sure what you mean here: "I had three separate double shots put water inside the head without extracting coffee." Can you explain more?
When I was learning if the gauge went near full red I would stop the machine by pushing the one or two cup button which ever one I was doing. That is so it would not do something bad.

On mine the machine comes on with all red lights except the Program button. I push one cup and the water/crema comes out for 10 seconds. When I push two cup the water/crema comes out for fifteen seconds. On the two cup I usually push the two cup button before the 15 seconds as that is how I like the coffee.

You say"How do I get my 2 shot auto-drip setting back on so I don't have to manually stop the coffee extraction (at the same strength etc as 2 shot button factory setting)?" When you push the two cup button how long does the water/crema come out for.

Please get back to me if this does not answer all your questions.

Mainly referring to this...

"On mine the machine comes on with all red lights except the Program button. I push one cup and the water/crema comes out for 10 seconds. When I push two cup the water/crema comes out for fifteen seconds. On the two cup I usually push the two cup button before the 15 seconds as that is how I like the coffee.

You say"How do I get my 2 shot auto-drip setting back on so I don't have to manually stop the coffee extraction (at the same strength etc as 2 shot button factory setting)?" When you push the two cup button how long does the water/crema come out for."

The coffee extraction never reaches the 'red' pressure extraction, I'm pretty spot on with orange. The extraction doesn't stop after 15 seconds, it just keeps going until I press the button to make it stop. I want it to stop at 15 seconds, as standard.

So looks like you just want the 2 cup extraction to stop at 15 seconds.

I see Page 9 of the manual shows Resetting to Factory Settings which you have done.

Have you tried on Page 9 - 2 Cup Volume?

You simply set how long you want the 2 cup extraction to go for.

Have you done that?

I have purchased new Em7000 and almost very time I use it water is leaking out between machine and handle/basket. Any chance I have a faulty seal? Have used an older model for years without blowing a seal but this has done from day 1 (have had approx 2 weeks now) Thanks

Leak in a new machine sounds like a problem for Sunbeam to fix under warranty
Take it back to the retailer you bought it from

It is possible you have a faulty machine but if you put in too much coffee this can happen. IME the handle needs to be at least perpendicular to the machine housing or further to "lock". The machine can be temperamental with grind versus quantity of coffee. If your handle does not go in/turn sufficiently try less coffee, and if that remedies the sealing problem but you don't get sufficient pressure, go to a finer grind. (I had a 6910 for 5 years but the 7000 was still a learning experience in some regards)

You will find these instructions for resetting to factory settings on pages 9 and 13 of the instruction booklet that came with your machine:
1. Ensure the espresso machine is plugged in and that the power point is turned on.
NOTE: DO NOT press the POWER button on the espresso machine
2.PRESS & HOLD DOWN the MANUAL button
3. While still holding down the MANUAL button. briefly PRESS the POWER button and then release the MANUAL button.
4. FOUR beeps will sound and the machine will power on

Had my EM7000 working perfect for nearly a year.

Now when I power on it begins to heat up and and once heated, it immediately starts pouring water from the group head, with none of the manual or cup programs functional. I tried resetting to factory settings but as soon as it had done that it went back to pouring at all times. Any ideas?
