Lifetime Warranty - Forget about it!

published

I spent my hard earned cash on a Swiss Diamond pan 6 months ago at the Chef's Hat in South Melbourne. A month later when the pan turned black all over and the enamel started to flake off the underside of the pan I assumed I'd take back the faulty product and all would be fixed. How wrong was I? Chef's Hat flicked me to the distributors and the distributors Bambis Imports Pty Ltd have insisted that we used the pan on too high a heat which is incorrect. And they have refused to replace it.

overpriced, shocking after sales service

My wife bought a full set of these so called great pans . yes they were great in the begining but am disgusted at the aftersales service for they started cracking to me they are usless now except for one that dosnt get used very often .

They have already replaced at least two under warranty but still am waiting for one more to be replaced for they have had it for over 4 months now the ones they did replace we had to wait 2 months so i dont know what they expect you to cook in for $3000 consumer affairs is looking good now

Extremely bad warranty service

I have had the same issue. The Australian distributor takes no responsibility. Absolute cop-out.

Tough as diamonds....NOT!

published

As stated in manufacturers care instructions 'Do not heat over a medium heat!' If you are only intending on slow cooking food on a low heat then this range is for you. I bought swiss diamond 5 years ago and took very good care of it. Just recently the non-stick coating started to peel off and according to swiss diamond the warranty is void if you heat the pans over medium (And they know this if the bottom is not shiny silver anymore).
So, if you are looking to cook anything on a medium to high heat - Forget it!
I bought a set of scan pan recently to replace swiss diamond and it cost half the price and does the same job - except I CAN use it on high heat!

Not true to the advertised "virtually indestructible non-stick cooking surface"

Sounds great! Not as promised.
Non-stick doesn't last long.

Worse Fry pan Ever!

published

Bought a 28" Swiss Diamond fry pan from Peter's of Kensington. The coating cracked & chip after 2 months used. And bought the pan back to the shop. But the shop refused and said it was general worn out. It cost $150 and only last two months only. I am really upset the after service of Peter's kensington and Swiss Diamond. Didn't heard from them until I called the shop after the pan returned for 3 weeks.
Nothing is good
Heavy, expensive, chip after 2 moths use. It is not life warranty as it advertise.

Demand a refund! If not involve the appropriate consumer rights group. They should accept the refund with no issues.

Great Pan-worth every penny!

published

This pan was given to me because whenever I made pancakes they stuck. It was quite expensive by my standards but I am now saving to get a whole set of swiss diamond pans. This pan heats evenly, quickly and seems to cook well at lower temperatures than my other pans. It is also ok to use metal implements on it (they don't recommend all the time though). I love this as my hubby is forever using a fork to stir and turn things and now I don't have to worry about the pan in his hands. My pancakes never stick now and I have reduced the amount of oil I use.
heats evenly, quickly and you can use metal implements on it.
You have to pay for this quality

This is simply not true... We wanted to love these pans and spend a lot on quality, but these pans are shocking and dangerous as the coating peels. You obviously only make pancakes once every 6 months!

I have a similar issue with several of my Swiss diamond products. It is only the pots that I have used tomato paste in - maybe the acid in the paste is no good for the surface. Where in Melbourne can I return the pots for exchange.

Best Frypan ever owned!

published

I've had my 28cm Swiss Diamond frypan for well over 4 years now and it's still cooking to perfection every time! I am baffled as to why anyone wouldn't be happy with their Swiss Diamond product - it satisfies me every time I cook with it! I hardly ever use oil as it's not needed and it's so easy to clean - just warm soapy water and a soft sponge - do NOT use a brush or anything abrasive as this will damage it and cause your pan to deteriorate quickly. It's really not needed... hot water and sudsy sponge is all that is required as all food remains slide off. :)
Reliable, non-stick, easy to clean, cooks perfect omelette every time!
They can be pricey - just shop around for a sale! Worth every dollar!

I've had my frypans for 3 years now and have never had a problem with them. I don't need to use oils even when cooking marinated meat or fried eggs. Most times I don't need to wash them...paper towel cleans them perfectly. No sign of the coating coming off even though I use it on a high heat. I'm amazed that other people had troubles with theirs. My mum and sisters have them too and they are still perfect after many years.
Fantastic cooking, no oils needed, easy to clean
Expensive initially but save money by never replacing cheaper cookware

Fantastic product. Couldn't rate more highly

published

Have had two of their frying pans for 2-3 years now. Use one or both everyday and have found them to be as good as when purchased. I'd say most of the bad reviews here are because they did not season their pan before use. This is vital, after that just use and wash as per normal. We do not use metal implements on the pans as they would clearly reduce the life of any pan. Perhaps take this into account when using too.
Still non-stick after 2-3 years and really durable. Has a great weight to it
Price, but not too bad if you shop around

This is total nonsense. You should not need to season a non-stick pan, and there is no mention of that in the manual that comes with the pan.

Hi Tony. The leaflet that came with our purchase did state this. It's why we thought to season them.

Dissapointed

published

I bought my frypan about 3 yrs ago and months after I got it things started to stick a little, I persaveared cause thought it was my cooking. I never cooked anything past medium but kept cooking and got worse. Anyway I contacted swiss diamondand they promptly told me I'd probably burnt something and the warranty would be void, however I could send back for valuation, I didn't trust this so Itill got it but will probably try another brand next time I buy something as expensive. It was a big outlay for me and yes I was dissapointed
nice and heavy, even cooking.
Bad warranty service, maybe I could have returned it to the store where I bought it for evaluation. Non stick surface started coming off in about 6 months

Love them!

Been using these for about 6 months and they are wonderful!
First tried the small fry pan as it was a special price and then quickly convinced my fiance to buy me a set. They heat up quickly and don't need any oils if you don't wish to use them, great for low fat cooking.
Worth every penny and can see them lasting me a lifetime.
Non-stick, Oils not necessary, good heat distribution, nice range of items to cover all the things you need
Expensive, but so is most good cookware, if you can get it on sale it's much more cost effective, cannot use metal utensils so had to adjust slightly - plenty of silicone and wooden tools available now so not such a big deal

My Swiss Diamond Prestige cast casserole has been dreadful. I follow the cooking and cleaning I instructions but most everything I cook burns at the bottom of the pot. I’ve just had to throw out the marmalade I was cooking because it caught so badly on the bottom of the pot the marmalade was burnt. I can’t believe I paid such a high price for such poor quality. I thought cast iron would be tough. Apparently not.

I have a casserole i use frequently and love. I have never used it for jams though. It is probably 10 years old and still as new.

Hi Joan. Thank you got your response. My pot is under 12 months old and now I can’t clean the surface so the pot is now worthless. I am so disappointed with this purchase. Maybe the cookware was better quality 10 years ago. Regards
