Major ethical issues exist at Phil Gilbert Toyota. Data provided by us on buying car, badly abused by salesman in breech of our privacy with sadly very serious consequences. When complaining no action taken against the individual involved as management only interested in a cover up.

If I put a bull bar on a new land cruiser should it cancel the 5 year warranty? A new land cruiser has developed cracks in the frame of the car near the bull bar and Toyota will not repair it properly. They say they will put a weld on them but it will be very much weakened and there is a chance of the welds cracking. Bundaberg Toyota is saying they don't have to do any repair because the car had a non Toyota accessory. You buy a 4WD to handle off road terrain not to only drive down a highway.

I would never deal with Toyota Bundaberg haven't got a good name for follow up they just take your money and run. I very much support buying locally but definitely not from Bundaberg Toyota or the other dealerships they own in Bundaberg.

Great cars but why are the dealerships so sub standard?
I have had dealings with 3 dealerships since buying my new Toyota 2 1/2 years ago and they all leave a lot to be desired. Service managers are generally rude, abrupt and insincere, reception staff are similar.
They also try to upsell you on unnecessary items when your car is serviced like $60 wiper blades.
After the first 10,000 k service I had the oil was still dirty.
Spongy weak brakes are considered normal?
The best cars with possibly the worst dealerships... do Toyota care about this?

Simple answer to your question.... Do Toyota care about this....
NO...!!!
I called Toyota Head Office, and they did not want to know. I got a generic answer... "Please liaise with the dealer" if the dealer does not want to hear about any complaints then how can we...
The best solution to this is we unite and simply do not buy Toyota the next time round. We also go elsewhere to have the car's serviced. $1200 for a full service on a 2009 Corrola is crazy... That's without any up sell.
Stop buying Toyota and hit them where it hurts..... They will soon come to their senses...
You say the car maybe good... I would have to disagree as their are plenty more makes and model of cares that are just as good, and I suspect with a level of customer satisfaction that is acceptable from not only the dealer but more importantly the manufacture.

It depends on how well the car is treated. You should be able to get 300,000 - 400,000 kms out of an engine that is well maintained. You may get even longer mileage. But, this isn't really to do with Toyota dealerships. If you have a good mechanic (non-Toyota mechanic) and you own a Toyota, think twice about dealing with Toyota. They are very expensive and have proven to me to give bad/false information when it suits.

Any used car is a mystery. A used car with 5000k on it could be a nightmare.
Get a qualified independent mechanic to give any prospective new car a thorough inspection BEFORE purchase as afterwards they will just screw you around.
It is all up to you, the purchaser. Don't rely on the smiling (slippery) salesman.

Turbo diesel engines will have more life to them than the petrol. Be sure to look at what accessories are on it to work out what kind of work it has done, like towed a big caravan around Australia or done heavy duty off road work.

If my car does not start at home......should my 3 yrs warranty cover someone coming out to look at the problem. My son had a look at the battery and as the lights were all still working did not think it was the battery. I rang Toyota and explained it to the severice guy and he sent out a tow truck...Turns out it was the battery...and then made me pay for the tow truck. Does my roadside assistance cover this type of incident?......I only found out about this assistance when reviewing my warranty. Also is there a warranty on the battery of a OPctober 2010 corolla ascent?
thank you...Jo
