Turbo Classic KICKS!!!
Bought a Classic 4B, swapped the cast iron grills with stainless ones on the Elite. Saved $900 on the price cause I got the classic with no side burner. The heat output is intense, the BBQ grills my steaks like no BBQ has before. Pretty wrapped with its performance, never thought I would spend over $1000 on a BBQ but well worth the investment.
Heat output, food cooking quality, technology, after sales service from the BBQ Galore store in Richmond.
Nothing really, price is high!

Definitely different cooking
I have been looking around for a BBQ for quite some time, looking at the Weber Genesis and beefeater signature and Turbo BBQs.
There arent many reviews up on the new RQT burners on the Turbo bbq, some say they are fantastic, some say they are terrible. Eventually i decided upon the Turbo classic as it has 2 RQT and 2 cast iron burners. The turbo frame being double skinned and feeling the most solid out of all of the bbqs won it for me, that and their relaxed warranty terms. Staff were actually very helpful and knowledgeable, something which ...Read more
isnt usually the norm at some bbqs galores. At first i was going to get a rock tray and convert the bbq back to standard burners but i gave the burners a go. First result: terrible, the heat was either not enough or too much. Second result: excellent, the burners cook differently, you are not meant to have them at their full heat since it creates flames at the front and back of the RQT burner. I asked the store about this and the high heat is for searing, efficient oven temperature and cleaning off the quartz dome quickly. I answered my own question because the burner is too damn hot on high for any cooking, dont know why anyone would cook at such a temperature.. Most cooking is done at a medium heat, and a medium high heat if you like your meat rare/seared. I loved the fact that i could manipulate the heat directly without waiting for it to cool down. The effect was instantaneous and has meant i pretty much dont burn stuff anymore. The best thing though, is that i upgraded to the SS grills. I chuck them in the dishwasher after a quick scrub and leave the RQT burners on high for a while and it cleans itself off pretty much. Being able to remove the burners too meant that i could clean the frame alot easier. I probably use the bbq more because of how easy it is to cook/clean compared to the conventional cast iron burners/rock tray. dry meat no more!

Turbo elite 4 burner
If you think the turbo elite is a normal BBQ you need to think again its a radiant heat unit and therefore cooks a different way so you will have to experiment. I can understand why this BBQ has won awards its a great unit. Friends reckon that the whole fillet I cooked the other day was the best they have ever had!
Great level of control
You do get hot spots on the ends but easy to work around

Excellent barbecuing experience.
After a little getting used to I realized that there is not a lot that can't be done on this BBQ. Performed exactly like the store demo. Would recommend to anyone who has the money. I can only imagine that the people who can't find something good to say just can't use a BBQ properly.
Great even heat output, excellent for roasting
Tool a little time to get used to he to different style of hear output

Think twice before buying.
As to minimum flare ups this is just not true when you have the bbq at home & cooking, it constantly flares up, the glass domes are we think very unsafe as the heat comes out either end and frequently burns your arms if not careful,as to the demo in the shop we were given and how it really operates are two different things.
Does not do what is advertised, and is not safe

We have a 2 burner and cannot get anything to brown, apart from the hotspots either end of the burner.
You guys need to learn how to cook or go back to using a camp fire. Yes, its a new and different style to a old cast iron burner - but once I got used to it I have had nothing but sensational results. I would never go back!

Not what I expected....it was better!
We took a look around at a lot of bbqs before buying. Once we got the bbq home we spent a little time experimenting because the heat it put out felt different to any other bbq. Once we got used to it and realised you didn't have to turn it up full bore like other bbqs to cook perfectly it has worked really well.
New technology, great heat output, excellent results
Takes a little getting used to

The crystal dome has become hazy after a few years. Any advice or is this normal?

Hello ... all I just purchased a turbo elite 2 burner, although I love the design I don’t think it cooks steak well... it kind of boils it or stews it instead of cooking it like a normal bbq. I know a few people are having the same issues.. did BBQs galore give you a refund or exchange ? I don’t know what to do... I am not happy ... for such expensive product i was expecting much more... please help...

They don’t acknowledge there is anything wrong with it. I’m in the process of looking at using the cabinet and pulling the whole fire box off the bbq and putting a Webber q on it. The only way you can cook a descent steak is by using the plate ( which I changed to cast iron)

One of my Turbo Elite RQT burners is misfiring with a burbling sound. I have cleaned the jet orifice and burner tube. I have swapped burners but it is still misfiring at the same jet position. Does the gas valve need to be replaced?

Did you change your jets to natural gas or do you have LPG still?
Original LPG ones. 7 years old. Other jet works well.

You get a lot of flame from the end of the quartz dome burners which effectively makes 50% of the grill area unusable. I will have to replace these with conventional burners.
