The fridge is cutting out /wont start when running on 12v. These types of fridge usually have a cut off if the voltage gets below 11.8v but Ive checked the battery voltage and its 12.4v, and its still not working.
I also checked with my other Waeco fridge on the same battery and cable and it does work. what can i do to solve this problem ?

I also have the same problem with my cfx40, I tested voltage on batteries, socket and even cable once plugged in. All supplying 12.4-12.6 v but fridge keeps turning off unless plugged into 240 or solar.

I am another owner of one of these and even on LOW setting the fridge won’t run even at 12.9v.
Useless if you want to run it on batteries only.

Hi I have a 75CFX and has been working fine until our last trip where the temperature starting reading higher than what we set it at. For example we had one side set to 4C but on the display it would say it was at 18C. Looked inside and checked the food and it was all frozen. I’ve had a look online and think it has something to do with the thermo sensor, is this right? Would this need to be replaced?

We also have the same fridge and same problem. When we took it back to Waeco they said nothing was wrong with it. 3x now it has fully frozen everything inside and completely shut down the fridge and wont turn back on for days. Have you had any further luck with yours?

We have just got ours back. We took it back to BCF (where we purchased it) and they told us to drop it off at a battery shop. It was there for 2 weeks. I believe the sensor has been replaced. We are still yet to try it to see if it has fixed the problem... fingers crossed!

where can I find a diagram(manual for the compressor) or youtube vid showing how to replace/remove main pcb board as Ive heard that you can use an air can and some contact cleaner for an easy fix if your fridge only works on emergency override.Otherwise I will replace the main PCB board.

The 12 volt plug connection is loose within its housing on the fridge, power flicks on and off. Would have thought the housing would have been stronger than what it is. Any advice on repairing please.

CFX 50W (50L)

I have a CFX50 that starts ok in 240 & 12 volt.
Turning it on no green light comes on or Red error light.
Just a solid orange light.
The CFX50 begins cooling and reaches -22 then begins to come down in temp to around +5 then begins cooling again back up to -22.
Have tried it on normal & override positions no difference.
The Digital readout on Control PCB shows unreadable numbers ie: the numbers are not fully displayed.
When pressing the set button, can step thru the sequence and change tof C or Friday and Low Mediterranean High. BUT cannot set the Temperature mode
It is set on +10 but cannot set it.
It freezes the cabinet as said to -21.
I have ordered a new Upper Digital Control PCB to swap out this faulty PCB.
I have remove the Main PCB, disconnected the connector and cleaned with Electronic Spray Cleaner -reassembled AND CFX50 fires up and dies as described an the beginning of my questions.
Iso the PCB the likely cause of the hiccup??
Thank you in advance for your input & suggestion/s.

I have a Waco CFX95 with fridge set at 4 degrees and smaller compartment for freezer at -14 degrees. The freezer only stays at the set temp for 10 mins before the compressor kicks in to cool it down which also takes about 10 mins to get it back to the set temp.

Is this normal?

I have have had this fridge/freezer for a while and never noticed coming on so often. I thought I was getting longer times before it needed to be cooled down again.

How long approximately before the temperature changes in freezer when car turned off, say to go shopping? Is it really necessary to purchase and fit a deep cycle battery if car and fridge off for say 30 minutes?

If the fridge and its contents are already cold, half an hour won't matter. If you put warm things in it then it will heat up rapidly.

I have just purchased this fridge/freezer, still have to purchase a deep cycle battery. How does the deep cycle battery connect to car to charge it? And how does it connect to the fridge please?

A second battery needs to be wired to your first battery, there are multiple ways of doing this, check with an auto electrician for what's best for your car. When it's being installed you can add wires which will run your fridge from the second battery.

Thank you Simon, I have since found out how, and it’s going to cost around $1000.00 to fit it, so maybe have to manage without the deep cycle battery. I do appreciate your response, many thanks.

Try swapping the compartment temps. Ie, set the 3 compartment to -18 and change the -18 to 3 and see how it goes.

Are you on dual batteries? If so is the battery protection set to the lowest setting?

How is it connected? Via the ciggy lighter socket? How long is the cable? Is it heavy enough gauge? Might be struggling to get enough current to run both??

Failing all of the above, contact dometic, could be a faulty unit.

Thanks josh I’ll try all that
