240 or 12v?
240
Must be something faulty. I can have mine on 4 and -10 and runs and sits fine on 240 or 12v. I get some fluctuation, but generally only a couple of degrees.

Hi, my son has a new CFX 65. The fridge runs fine on 240v and when plugged to 12v when the car is running, however when the car is turned off and the fridge is running on the auxiliary battery the fridge comes up with an error and stops running. We thought his battery might be no good so I put fridge in my Landcruiser where I have new batteries and run my old CF 50 with no issues and it does the same thing. It’s like the fridge is turning off due to low voltage in the battery when running on 12v. Does this model of fridge have adjustable voltage protection, or is there something wrong with the fridge ?

I know with the 75l dual zone there are 3 different setting for battery protection.
Check your manual. I currently have no dual battery and have it set to the highest setting. As you say, it shuts down not long after the car is turned off to ensure the starter battery doesn’t drop too low.
If he has auxiliary batteries, you could set it to the lowest setting which I think runs the battery down to 11v...
I have heard of a compressor issue that results in the compressor not starting when it gets 12v. It's a return to dealer or manufacturer fix.

We have a CFX50 and has been turned off for a couple of weeks. Before that it was running of 240v, went to turn it on yesterday and the control panel read -A6c, checked the set temp and it was reading 65c. I have tried on 12v as well, same results, when I switch to emergency it fires up.
What will be the problem?

red warning light continuously flashing as soon as I power up the unit on 12v or 240v or 24v,compressor does not try to start.full power going into controller.Unit will run in override for maybe 5-10 min then red light stops flashing at that time I can switch back to normal operation.Fridge continues to work perfectly,it cycles on and off as it should for a hour or so then faults out again. Thats that untill I put it back in override and process repeats itself. Any ideas?

Sounds like the thermister may be faulty, its job is to send temp back to control curcuits which control when to run and how long . its a job for the service guys and may only require the termo replacing but be prepared for the cost (if out of warranty ) of replacing the circuit board .
Thanks for your reply, have been talking to others and come to the same conclusion. I will follow that up, hopefully not to expensive.
new compressor controller fixed it.all good now

How do I remove the power control board in a 3 year old CFX-50.
The 12 volt plug has a connection problem and I suspect s dry solder. I have already tried a new power lead. It does come on but only once I find the right spot by jiggling the plug around. Inevitably it goes off when the fridge/plug gets the slightest movement.
Thanks

I can answer my own query. It may help someone else.
When removing the the lower power inlet panel, there is one screw under the sticker that needs to be removed.
After messing about for ages, I got the panel off only to find that the dodgy solder had totally snapped off. This can only be caused from the factory.
My 2 Engel's have never given me a bit if trouble.

Do the 12v leads differ between models? I know the plug is the same but I notice on advertising it says the lead is suitable for a 60l but not a 95l and visa-versa.

When I bought a second lead there were different lengths so I bought the shortest.
There is a possibility that there may be a higher rated fuse in the 95 cable so the main difference as long as plug at fridge is same is probably the fuse.

My four-year-old Waeco CFX 50 has recently started defaulting to -22° every time there is a power outage or disruption to power supply. If not noticed for awhile the exploding cans and bottles will get your attention. Is there a fix please?

Could be the Theron coupling, you can order for about 30 dollars delivered, make sure you get the soft thermal paste then you can replace yourself, will save 150 in labour
Have you had any feedback. I have the same problem.
Same issue here any results?

Our fridge is 3 years old and used to work well, but started playing up in the last year or so. Replaced camper battery which we thought was the problem but still having the same issue with it cutting out and not cooling. Plugged into friends camper which was effectively cooling a cfx-75 and same problem, so doesn’t seem to be battery, although does work in the car with motor running and also on 240V. Is there a way of adjusting the cut off voltage, as it seems to be too high?

Try your mates lead, had the same problem and it was the cig socket, had broken solder and not contacting properly so was turning off all the time,

Will change from green to orange more when on a battery or solar panels, could be the cig socket end has broken the solder so not contacting properly which will cause the green light to come on more, try a mates lead And see if it still does it
I am not an expert & can only go off what is in the manual. But my fridge on occasion has been a little temperamental, so I "reboot" the fridge, like a mobile or computer. ie remove both AC & DC leads for a minute, AC will override DC. Then plug in only one one of the leads, not both if you had both plugged in. If running off DC test the fridge voltage as close as you can at the fridge with a multi meter, NOT at the battery end! Try another battery if necessary. I run the fridge off gel batteries & a Victr_n MPPT solar regulator, not the rubbish regulators on the back of solar panels which should be at the battery end (plenty of forums explaining proper 12 volt setup).
I also replaced the 55 cm (110 cm +&-) of 12 volt wiring to the circuit board inside the fridge with 10 gauge wire as the wire in the fridge really could have been a bit heavier than the 16AWG. It is probably the same situation with all manufacturers saving 2 cents. & Installed a circuit breaker while at it.
