Hi Julie, the Baby Q models are to be used with LPG only, as they are a portable barbecue. They cannot be connected to Natural Gas.

Baby Q Premium (Q1200AU)

What setting is preheat and oven setting on my baby q

2 answers
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Yleete, thanks for your question. These instructions are all in your handbook that came with the Q.

On a Baby Q, preheat is the high position (the circle with the lightning bolt)- you light the barbecue and leave it on high for 10 minutes. If your cook requires a convection tray and trivet, ensure you put these in the barbecue for the preheat time.

The roasting setting is two notches above the half-moon circle. This gives you consistent and the optimum temp for most roasting dishes.

Baby Q

Why did my vegs burn chicken perfect

Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Ros, if you've got your barbecue set-up correctly for roasting (as per your barbecue owner's guide) and using a convection tray and trivet, then it sounds like you've put everything on at the same time?

I would have put the chicken on first, then the vegetables on about half-way through the cook, as they don't take as long as the chicken would.

If you've got any other queries, please let us know.

My baby weber doesn't seem to get very hot on hottest setting so what can be done to increase cooking temperature ?

4 answers
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Ross, can I ask how hot your barbecue is getting? What temperature are you trying to achieve and what are you trying to cook?

Ensure you've checked your gas levels and made sure there are no leaks too, as this can impact heat levels.

Ross L.
Ross L.

Not sure of the exact temperature but it took 3 times longer to fry bacon in a fry pan than on a stove. Perhaps it is not designed for this purpose?

Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

It should definitely be able to do that, but it depends on how long you let it pre-heat for? Did you pre-heat the frying pan in the barbecue?

Were you using the barbecue with the lid open?

Baby Q Premium (Q1200AU)

Hey Guys. I'm looking at getting a Weber for christmas but i can't decide between Q1200 or Q2200. I will be using it at home and on trips away. We are a family of 4 but do have the odd BBQ with family and friends. Please help.

1 answer
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Tallah, if you're planning on using the barbecue for travelling and feeding your family of 4 plus more, I would suggest going for the 2200 size. This gives you plenty of versatility in space and the amount you can cook plus options for accessories such as carts. Let us know if you need any more information.

Baby Q Q100

Is there any where that still sells stands for the Weber baby Q 100? If not, any suggestions for alternatives for a stand?

1 answer
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Tracey, the stands that you need for your model Q are obsolete and no longer sold, sorry.
We suggest a flat, stable surface made from non-combustable material such as metal or stone to place your Q on. You can find small camping tables at most camping and hardware stores. Apologies we couldn't help any further with this.

Hi Jess, no it is not.
It needs to be used in an outdoor area, like a backyard, balcony, campsite, etc. Inside is not a place to be using a barbecue.

Hi, we have a caravan and we are looking to purchase a Weber Baby Q. The caravan storage compartment doesn't quite fit the Weber Baby Q. My question, can you easily remove the lid for storage? Thanks

Hi there! Good news; you can take the lid off for storage and travelling. It's only held on by two pins at the back of the lid, so just remove those and store accordingly.

Baby Q

This may be a really stupid question. Our Baby Q has 1 big grill plate. Im looking to replace it and can only seem to find the sets of grill plates?? I hope this makes sense? Im confused

Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Heidi, not a stupid question at all. Our older model Qs came with single grills, whereas the updated version comes with new, split grills.

You can still purchase single grills from our head office on 1300 301 290, but all of our Weber retailers sell the split grills in store, which you can use as there is a small metal clip in the box that supports the centre of the two grills where they split. Hope that makes sense :)

Baby Q

Can i use two flat plates on my baby q bbq

1 answer
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Helen, thanks for your question.
We recommend using one half-hotpalte, and the other half grill for the best results when using your Q. This is to do with airflow, heat levels and convection-style cooking that our barbecues are known for.

Let us know if you need any further info :)

Baby Q

Is there a guide to advise what temperature each of the dots represent on the weber baby q dial?

4 answers
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Jason, due to variables like environment, gas level, age of Q, etc. we cannot attribute a specific temperature to each dial setting. That being said, we have some ranges below that you can expect from each setting:

roasting (indirect medium) range -190-230
direct high 250-290

Jason
Jason

Thanks, are they indicative temps with dial at high?

Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Jason, your Q should be getting to about the 220 mark after 10 minutes on high, and 250-290 mark after about 20 minutes. Please keep in mind it is recommended that you don't leave your Q on high for longer than 20 minutes, and dial it back to medium range (if you're doing anything other than direct grilling). The heat levels will stay quite high though if you leave the lid closed.

Baby Q Premium (Q1200AU)

I'm looking to buy a Q1200 for our off-road camper. The camper has been manufactured with an additional gas outlet at my request. I see that the Q1200 has a standard hose fitting for direct connection to a gas bottle, and I know I can purchase a replacement hose with a bayonet connection however the default length for these appears to be 1.5 metres. Is there a maximum hose length I can use before gas pressure drops to an unacceptable level?
Regards, Keith

I use the Weber Baby Q as an oven while camping. Can the heavy grill be replaced with anything lighter?

2 answers
Weber
Weber Barbecues A.Weber

Hi Harold, great question. We only have the porcelain enamel, cast iron grills available for the Q range. I can understand they are a little on the heavy side however this is due to their durability and quality materials that they're made from.

We'll pass your feedback onto our product team, as we understand this is a consideration for campers.

Shamrock J.
Shamrock J.

Yes, only if you have a creative mind.
The stainless steel grills from a std outdoor house hold bbq cut too shape will do the job. Not sure what brand have them, but they are so much lighter.
