Does the baby q premium have a thermostat dial? Thanks
2 answers
Hi Cheryl, yes the Weber BabyQ 1200 has a precision thermometer.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Cheryl, our Q1200 model (Baby Q premium) has a thermometer in the lid, along with the lid being higher and having an electronic igniter. You will find it at your local Weber Specialist Dealer or Weber Store :)

I am looking at purchasing a Weber Baby Q1000 and was wondering if the Weber Q Patio Cart will fit the Weber Baby Q1000.
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi there. No, the Patio cart will not fit the Baby Q series- you need to look at the Portable Cart, which is the folding one. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Georgia Casked
Hey, Sorry I know nothing about BBQs but want to get one for my partners birthday. Could you please let me know if you can use the small gas canisters (220g) with this Weber? If not, is it the big bottle you need to use?
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Georgia, we recommend using any sized gas bottle from 4kg-9kg, and these are the most common size bottles you'll find around the place.
Juliana R.asked
What is the difference between Baby Q Premium Q1200 and Q1000 apart from the thermometer? I want to buy using afterpay but the dealers have only the Q1000.
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Juliana, the differences between the two models include: a higher domed lid, thermometer in the lid and more colour options (black and red, as well as titanium).
Depending on where you're located, our Weber Store network offers ZipPay and have the premium Q range available in store. Let us know if you need a hand finding your local.
Peter Rasked
I purchased a Baby Q about 8 months ago and the gas flame continually goes out. (gas turned to high) It is located on the veranda of my unit and is protected from wind. I own a Family Q as well and have never had this problem. Also I have noted that there is very little difference in the flame height when on low or high.
Regards, Peter.
2 answers
This sounds like a problem with your regulator (the flame control dial). Assuming you have tried a different gas bottle to make sure it's not an issue a the bottle end, I would consider taking it back to the retailer under the manufacturer's warranty.
As is the case with your Family Q, it should work intuitively and easily. This isn't likely to be a problem with your operation.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Peter, this does sound like a gas supply issue, most likely caused by the regulator. If you could please either email us at [email protected] or phone on 1300 301 290 with your serial number handy, we can help you with this. Thanks!

Hi,
I purchased a Weber Baby Q in Germany, and have moved back to Australia. I want to convert from the small gas canisters to using a gas bottle. What parts do I need to replace for this?
Thanks,
Jeff
4 answers
Hi they can’t convert it as it’s AGA laws and Weber can’t convert but go see Denise at Oasis Umbrella world 93898363 they have dealt with them before and will look after you.
www.oasisumbrellaworld.com.au
Hopefully this helps mate
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Jeff, unfortunately, we can't supply parts for barbecues purchased outside Australia & NZ, as they are different components and not covered under our Australian Gas Association agreement, and therefore our warranty does not cover it. Please let us know if you need more information.
Hi Weber representative,
So that means I have an expensive piece of junk in my garden then? Or I am "encouraged" to source my own connectors to get gas from a bottle to my BBQ? It is unfortunate that there is not a universally safe and compliant option that a global company like Weber could implement.
If you are offering to help, I guess while you cannot supply the parts, it would be helpful if you could direct me to someone who can supply them.
Thanks,
Jeff

Andrea. Basked
can you use the weber frypans and casserole dish on a normal bbq/ van kitchen burner? we are going away and I don't want to have to take 2 sets of coking pans etc but have a few people to cook for and would like to cook on weber and van kitchen burners at same time
2 answers
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Andrea, yes you can use them on a normal stovetop and oven, just ensure you take the handles off as you would if you were using them on the Weber.
The only cooktop they won't work on is an induction cooktop. Hope that helps!
Awesome thank you.

I have just purchased a half hotplate for the Weber Baby Q100. The instructions seem to be saying to simply place on top of the grill but I would have thought that I would need to remove the half grill and replace with the half hotplate. Which is the correct procedure please?
4 answers
We replace half the grill with half the hot plate!!
Thanks Did just that and cooked Salmon portions excellently
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Alan, yes you remove the half grill and replace it with the hotplate. We appreciate your feedback on the instructions though and will review this in future updates. Thanks

My baby Q will not go below 220C even when set on low Far too hot to cook a roast Jeff

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Jeff, I'm sure we can help you get the most from your barbecue. Can I ask what you were trying to roast at the time? And are you using a convection tray/trivet? Thanks
I was trying to cook a leg of lamb . I do not have a trivet but was using a tray with a rack . There does not seem to be much difference between the flame height on high to low .
Cheers Jeff
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
I would definitely suggest using a convection tray and trivet set up, as this ensures that your meat is protected from direct heat (by being lifted off the grill) and having the heat deflected/circulated around the meat, cooking it evenly. You can learn more about roasting with a convection tray and trivet here:https://www.weberbbq.com.au/video/q-convection-trays/
Roasting on your Q is a little different to roasting in your typical oven, so it is actually ok that it is a little hotter than you're used to - in fact, the 220c actually falls into the range of indirect medium cooking temp, as outlined in this recipe for a leg of lamb here: https://www.weberbbq.com.au/recipe/minted-lamb-roast/
It is best that you have your barbecue set up correctly for indirect medium heat (or roasting setting), as outlined in your owner's guide- if you need a new copy, please contact us and we can send you out one. Alternatively, you can see the guide here in digital form (see page 2): https://www.weberbbq.com.au/wp-content/uploads/Q1000-2017-handbook-LR.pdf
If you haven't already, try using the minute-per-millimetre rule when it comes to calculating your cooking time. You measure the thickness of the thickest part of the lamb and convert that to minutes- this will give you a perfect medium rare doneness.
I hope that helps you with your lamb roast Jeff, and please let us know if you need any further information along the way! Typically you can get quicker responses from our social media pages (@weberbbqausnz on most platforms).
Sue P.asked
I bought a Weber Q in Darwin which doesn't have Natural Gas.
I live in an apartment block in Darwin NT & all of the Apartments have access to LPG
My previous BBQ was connected to LPG via an adapter.
What is A/V for me to connect my Weber Q instead of individual bottle?
Thankyou
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Sue, if you've got a Baby Q model (q100/120/1000/1200), then this is only available in an LPG model and no connections are available for NG. Any model up from the Baby Q range is available on either LPG or NG. Sorry about that.

Is it possible to use the large casserole dish in the baby q. We have the sml casserole dish but sometimes you need to go a bit larger, ie. more than 2 people.
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Karen, the large casserole dish doesn't fit properly in the Baby Q as it is too tall when the lid is down, as the sides of the lid slope down towards the outside. Sorry!

Why cant we get baby q lower than 200c even on lowest heat

I am unable to answer this. Check with BCF or BBQ'S Galore or from your place of purchase.

Hi Ron, the average temperatures for the Baby Q are below, just to give you a gauge:
Approximate Q Temperature - After 10 minutes on high
Weber Baby Q - 220°C (428°F)
Approximate Q Temperature - After 10 minutes on low
Weber Baby Q - 165°C (329°F)
What are you trying to cook at these temperatures?

Is it possible to swap the Weber baby Q 1000 lid for the 1200 premium lid?
2 answers
Not sure, give BBQ galore a call
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Pierre, you can purchase a new lid from Weber head office if you really want to. We can be contacted on 1300 301 290.
Having the high lid and thermometer is not essential to be able to cook in your Q- all of our recipes are written by setting, rather than by temp so you can follow along if you have a standard lid.
Why do you think you need one?

Hello,
This is a new Baby Q Premium, on first using it, preheating for 10 minutes, it got to 320 degrees celcius. Then turning the dial to a quarter it only reduced to 250 degrees celcius. It seems far too hot. Do you have any feedback/suggestions on this?
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Jayne, they will be a bit hotter in the first couple of uses, but this doesn't sound too out of the ordinary. What are you trying to cook?
Sylvia H.asked
Will the large casserole dish fit the baby q
2 answers
The Baby Q is the smallest Weber and you need to determine your needs before purchasing. More suited to one or two people rather than a family.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Sylvia, no it won't- it's too tall and wide. You'll need to look at the small casserole dish. Thanks!
Dennyasked
Can I convert my baby q to use natural gas at home?
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Denny, the Baby Q models can't be used on natural gas, only LPG. This is because they're a portable barbecue and aren't suited to NG connections. A Weber Q model and up can be used with NG as an option.
