There are so many 'stick' vacuums available. I want to choose between a 'Hoover' Vortex Pro 5231- (because of my bad back..) and a 'Wertheim Evolution W7301. Would appreciate any answers.

I can't comment on the Hoover Vortex Pro, but you won't regret the Wertheim Evolution W7301, so easy to use (great if you have back problems) and great suction. I am so happy with ours
Same above. This cordless vac is very light and no effort needed to clean. The power head pulls the vac along. Go for it
Thanks for replying. Hopefully I have made the correct purchase. It is so hard cleaning with 'Kidney back Pain'.
I have decided on the 'Wertheim'.

How does it go with laminate floor? Does it have a soft roll like LG cord zero. I wouldn't like to scratch my laminate floor. Thanks!

At one point, a tiny stone got caught under the head and scratched at the tiles.. I did think at the time, I was glad we didn't have timber flooring.. but that's not to say it will always be terrible on laminate.. Godfreys have a 10day change of mind return policy. As long as it is in original condition, clean, has the box and all parts, they will refund you. Do what I did, buy it, take it home and try it out, you'll quickly learn if it's right for you or not! Not many places have a change of mind policy.
The vac changed from heavy carpet to tiles in a smooth transition. We don't have laminate flooring so can't answer your question in full. The head with the brush is very easy to disassemble to remove the brush roller to take out anything that might get stuck in it.
I have timber floors, tiles and carpet and the Wertheim Evolution is amazing on all three. We have a rug in our lounge that attracts everything and is very difficult to clean, but the Evolution makes light work of cleaning it.

How does the Wertheim evolution compare with the lg cordzero A9 master2x?

Not sure, I'm not an expert on all brands.. I do know that Godfreys are the only ones that stock Wertheim and the dont have the LG one that I recall.. so you will have to go to the stores to trial separately.
Side note: I have taken back the Wertheim vacuum and got a refund and bought the Shark Rotator upright. Much better. The Wertheim is a fancy looking dust buster
the lg is only 140 watts and the Wertheim is 270 watts The Wertheim has rubber wheels so wont scratch your timber /vinyl floors.
The head goes flat unlike others when going under furniture and beds and does not jack knife like the Dyson.
But test it for yourself
The machine also has a pet hair tool that pivots to the shape of the surface being vacuumed and great for pet hair.
Best of all its $799 comparable and cheaper then leading brands.
I've got the lg and the wertheim they are both very good if i had to get rid of one and keep the other i would keep the wertheim cause its a bit easier to push and manoeuvre
