I have been quoted on a Westinghouse WESWLE525WA oven to replace the existing oven. Can you please give me more details about this oven?

We bought this over a year ago for about $600. The oven is very good. The temperature is accurate as I put a temperature gauge in the oven and it read exactly the same as what I set it on.
Thank you Susana - can you also tell me if this is a fan forced oven, and what type of hot plates - solid, coil or ceramic top? Thank you so much Cheers, Jude

I've moved into my first home and have a question about our Westinghouse oven/stove. On the stove, they start smoking, I've tried getting as much muck and burnt remains as possible and it still smokes. Is there anything else that can cause this?

I gather you have the ring or the solid stove plates. We have the ring tops & just used some warm soapy water & wiping (not soaked in water) to get off the plastic ring coating In the manual, I think it said to turn them on to burn off any residue for about 10-15 minutes. The smell should be gone in a short time. - otherwise if it persists I would contact Westinghouse -good luck

Why is the WLE522WA so useless at roasting meat. It is like the oven steams the meat and roast vegetable come out half cooked. I was cooking chicken and the ways it comes out is as it a boiling chicken. Any ideas?

Hi Ivor, sorry I have a 527 fan forced and our roasts turn out well. I am a lawyer not a chef but my wife says try more heat. We still are enjoying our stove and glad we made this choice rather than get a stove with that wretched cooling fan that many go to these days. Cheers Peter

The oven that we bought from the brand white westinghouse is good with 240max but I don't know how to turn the oven to the right heat because it doesn't have a feature whether it is degree Celsius or Fahrenheit. So how should I know if its degree Celsius or in Fahrenheit?
1 answer
It is Celsius as in Oz we only use that measurement. Also see user manual refers to run oven in at 180 C. All temperatures are in Celsius. Aust product. So unlike USA product that is probably in degrees F. We are enjoying our Stove. Cheers

I am very unhappy with this oven. The recommended fan forced temperature for items I have baked is too slow. I have to bake slices on 'non fan forced' oven temperature recommendations and even then, many times the slice hasn't properly cooked in the centre. These are slices I have been cooking for many years. I previously had a Westinghouse oven (15 years) which was consistent and reliable. I contacted Westinghouse who suggested I replace my old baking trays for new shiny ones even though these old trays cooked items well in my previous oven. This did not improve the situation. I am at the stage where I am seriously considering selling the oven and purchasing a different brand.
We purchased our stove with the coils a few weeks ago and really like it. We find it to be all we want in a stove and is fast to heat and easy to control the temperature. We like the fact it does NOT have a cooling fan. Also like that it is an Aussie product. Go for it. Cheers Peter
