When we first got this card the points system and rewards were a major deciding factor. It was originally packaged with an American Express card that really boosted the points earnings. Now that has been removed, unless we choose to pay more. Not happy! Will be moving banks as soon as we can.

It's ok, but was much better in the past.
This card suits my every day shopping needs well, allows me to accumulate points without an expiry and simple to redeem via their website...however....i used to like it before when holders were given fee free Amex accounts that gave double the points. I'm sad that over the years you need to acquire more points to get a $100 gift card. I always pay my card off on the due date so have never had interest applied so can not comment.

Good reward and extra benefits. But, too high annual fee and rate.
I got Westpac Altitude Black card. There are many benefits for card holders:
- PP card for two free access airport lounge
- Reward point and it can be transferred to airline points.
- Altitude reward program
- Free overseas travel insurance
I like the above benefits. There are also disadvantages:
- Higher annual fee. I don't understand why it is very high.
- Higher interest rate

Great new benefits under the dedicated Velocity Frequent Flyer program!
I am really excited about the recent changes to my existing Altitude Black card, now giving me access to Westpac's dedicated Velocity Frequent Flyer program. Previously, I opted into the Velocity auto-redemption feature through Altitude Rewards which only gave me 1 point for every $2 spend. Under the new program, I now have access to a number of free Virgin Australia Airport Lounge passes (issued annually), upgrades to premium economy and a better points earn rate (now 0.75 Velocity points per $1 spent).

So easy to collect points and redeem them. I pay everything with the card and points accumulate so quickly. Have had it for over 20 years. Use it overseas and no problems with it at all. There are fees for the card which can be paid with points. The amount I redeem far outways the fees.
I have a Westpac Altitude black card. Its good for accumulating Qantas frequent flyer points and complimentary Travel Insurance, but certainly not good when it comes to paying for my holidays. I do a lot of cruising but when it comes to paying, cruise company like Cruise1st charges 2.5% or more on top of my expensive cruise payment. A lot of restaurants demand a surcharge of 2.5 % on top of your bill. As a result I used my Master card most of the time to eliminate the surcharge. If American Express wants more business out of their clients why don't they do something to make it more user friendly ? I would love to use my American Express card to accumulate points but at the same time it does not make sense to pay the extra surcharge .

Got it last year in August and have loved using this card. For most purchases I have received double points or 1.5 times the points. The lounge offer at Sydney Airport is great ! Only negative is that they charge a foreign transaction fee - which I hate as I do shop overseas.

I got this card in November last year when they were running a promotion that you will receive 120k Qantas points when you send $4k within first months of approval. This card also comes with 2 Qantas lounges and also give you access to free Priority Pass Membership. This card has been very useful so far.

I have automatic transfer on my Black Altitude card which means my Velocity points go up each month. I find this a much better way to utilise my points rather than redeem for products.
I also use the free travel insurance which comes with the card when I go overseas, just make sure you meet all of the criteria to validate your insurance, which they will talk you through if yo do it over the phone.

I have been using this card for two years bundled with home loan contract. So far it is alright without any issues.
The app is easy to use, not so bad points to spend ratio.
About negative things: repayment period is a bit short of only 30 days, compared with some other credit cards. As it came with home loan, I have to pay 395 annual fee.

Good things about it:
- Convenient to use
- Relatively good points to spend ratio
- Reasonable app
- First year $0 annual fee promotion
Bad things about it:
- No Apple Pay!
- Had to pick up from store

Very good credit card. I ve got it from westpac and it never had any issue. The customer service was very nicje and they are always helpful. The internet banking of westpac help me make auto repayment to the credit card. This credit card also has reward points which are easy to be collected from day to day shopping. I really enjoy this credit card. Will hold it as long as I can!

I have had Westpac visa card for over 10 years. In the last 2 years they started penalising my CREDIT CARD WITH FEES ETC. Each time I went to the local branch and got them refunded. The terms of this card is listed as 44 days credit. They dont apply that, They use your statement as confusion and give you less and thats designed to allow the computer to charge you for late fee, no payment fee etc etc They have many ways of penalising you. Read your statement and understand it. Their Head office computer is set to default the moment you dont tick...
Read more a box. I get my full 44 days because its about when the period starts and finished. It designed to bamboozle you. My last complaint was refused at the bank. I then rang head office and kept them on the phone for 45 mins asking them for clarity. Yes they had lied and i was refunded. Prior to the last 2 years I didnt have a problem, Since the royal commission they have created penalties through fine print. I have been charged and credited nearly $100 in the last 12 months alone. Understand them they are thieves and self interested. Think about it...buying a credit card at nearly 20% I dont pay for a credit card and never have done so. I dont pay fees. I use the card for frequent flyer points and pay the card off in full on the 27th of each month. IN FULL.- 6 reviews

No longer come with Linked AMEX card, far less reward points and same annual fee.
When we first joined few years ago, you get a master card and a link Amex card. You will get far better reward points by using Amex card.
But, now you only get one card - master card but still have to pay the same annual fee. To get Amex card, you have to open another account and pay extra $$$ annual fee.

Terrible service by Westpac, better deal with another bank, I wouldn’t bother. I am also closing all my business with Westpac after this experience, that’s how bad it was.

After a 25 year relationship with a different bank, I received notice that my Platinum Amex card linked to my Banks Mastercard was to cease. In looking for alternatives, primarily for the reward points NOT additional credit, I considered the Altitude Black Option. Despite considerable dollars in Real Estate Assets and an SMSF, No Debt, an impeccable Credit Rating and significant income from passive investments, I continued to be asked for more and more documentation that included my SMSF Audit, Bank Statements, Rental Statement, Notice of Ass...
Read moreessment and then lastly my full tax records. Adding to my frustration, I could only speak to a call centre who simply recorded my concerns and passed it on to a verification team member. After 2 weeks of trying to comply with the never ending requests for more and more information, I gave up and applied to American Express directly and was approved in a single day. Unless you have the patience of Jobe, more money than the Reserve Bank of Australia and prefer speaking to the Horse and not the Jockey then this is the Credit Card for You!- 12 reviews

First they couldn't check my income automatically. Sent payslips but their email addresses mailbox was full!!! Had to send payslips to some platinum card email address. Finally approved but it's been almost two weeks and the (fairly high limit) card is nowhere to be seen. Not too hopeful about my bonus points judging on other reviews too :(

I was offered this card as a promotion for a fixed annual fee of $100 for the life of the card. Now it has increased to $195 & upon inquiry I was told eventually that the fine print allows them to change the fee. I would not have signed up for this card if I had known they would do this to me.

Fulfill the minimum spend two months ago, still yet to receive any frequent flyer points
I applied the Westpac Altitude Black card in Mar 2018 as they were doing a promotion to give away 80,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer points after the customer has spent $5,000 or more within 90 days. This is the first time that I applied a card with Westpac.
I had already spent $5,000 with this card by end of 13 Apr 2018, and Westpac immediately charged me the $250 annual card fee as well as the $50 Qantas reward fee. But I have yet to receive the 80,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer points till now, and there's simply no communication from Westpac to ind...
Read moreicate when the points will be transferred to my Frequent Flyer account. I have also applied another Frequent Flyer Black card with ANZ in Mar 2018, and in contrast, ANZ transferred me the 75,000 Frequent Flyer points immediately once I fulfill their minimum spending. Westpac's handling of this matter is really disappointing, and I will seriously never consider to use their services in future if this issue does not ever get resolved.- 44 reviews

We have just been approved for the Altitude Black card after Westpac cancelled our Platinum Qantas Amex card under Reserve Bank changes. They said that they had cancelled the Amex card and we could no longer use it but were issuing a Black card.
I phoned when I received their mail but apparently had missed the cut off date - but they said the old card was still valid. Except it wasn't and my direct debits started to bounce. Great.
After we were advised that the new Black Card was approved they said it was linked to Qantas - which we didn't ...
Read morewant. Sent 2 emails over a week and a half which were acknowledged but never replied to. Phoned this morning and spent 45 minutes on the phone and was transferred 4 times. Each time had to go through a lengthy id process and explain the situation in detail. The second person was truly a dill - obviously had his question sheet in front of him and didn't deviate until he eventually realised he couldn't solve the problem. We clearly explained at the outset ....we are being issued with a new Altitude card. You have issued it as a Qantas card. We do not want to be linked to Qantas. Simple. Not for these people. Eventually was transferred to a very nice lady in Card Services who fixed everything up in 5 minutes. It is about time that Westpac looked up the meaning of customer service. They have no bloody idea.- 26 reviews

"You need to wait 12 months between closing one Westpac Altitude Card and opening another". When I asked the fellow where this is written in the PDS, he couldn't locate it. I have scoured the Westpac PDS and the Altitude T&Cs are there is no reference to this statement. Just another excuse for not sending the points. Am now going to follow up with Point Hacks who endorse & advertised this promotion of 100k points, 2 lounge invitations in Feb 2018. Have met minimum spend requirements on 13 March. Have paid account in full. Old mate, backp...
Read moreacker in the Rewards Centre advised that it is 4 weeks from date of eligibility for the lounge passes to be delivered and 3 months for the points to be credited. "It is not a manual process to allocate the points, it is a computer generated script that looks at 3 requirements: 1. Minimum Spend Requirement satisfied 2. Have you held another Westpac Group Card within the last 12 months (so this is St George too folks) and 3. Are you a Westpac Group staff member? (Obvs if you are, no dice.) Told old mate, I am happy to close this account and move onto the next. Steep learning curve for the Annual Fee though - $395. Yikes! May I add that the NAB QF Mcard credited 100,000k points to my QF FF even before I paid the statement and their annual fee was only $295. They also list your NAB customer number on the back of their card which is very handy. No, I don't work for NAB - just a point of difference between the 2 products.- 8 reviews

I got scammed by Westpac together with everyone else. Signed up to Altitude Black, spent over 20k, never received the bonus points. It’s now a year later, so cancelled the card and closed all my other accounts with Westpac after being a loyal customer for 10 years. Good job Westpac! Now you missed out on a home loan I took with another bank and all my accounts- hope it was worth it!

Westpac used to offer good customer service with this product, this is no longer the case.
After a deceptive and potentially fraudulent transaction, Westpac offered no assistance whatsoever in resolving this issue, instead they just proceeded to communicate with me over the phone in an unhelpful, patronising and insulting fashion.

I have been using this card for 7 months now. Applied because of a 100000 qantas points sign up. After 3 months and minimum spend amount I recieved 50000 points. After ringing them and asking about the other 50000 they told me I had to wait another 3 months. After these three months I rang again and got told it had to get "investigated"
after 2 weeks and numerous calls back to them they got back to me and said I am not eligible for the other 50000 points and failed to give me a reason why.
I have since lodged a complaint with them and am waiting to get a reply from them.
