Great Card with excellent benefits - Sign up during velocity promo for decent bonus
Great credit card for everyday use. Simple and easy to apply with great rewards and extra velocity points each month. Overseas transaction fee is annoying though - so local use only.

Great card
Easy to earn points as well as quick to redeem. You get triple points while using Amex. However just received email today that they are increasing to 6 times for selected retailers.

It was a great credit card ...
I took the Westpac Altitude Black Amex bundle (Westpac issued Amex) when it was just released and I was offered a discounted annual fee at $295. The annual fee was reduced further to $195 when I took BT Super for Life as my super option. I got 1 pt for each dollar spent on Mastercard and 3 pt for each dollar spent on Amex at that time. With these points, I managed to redeem J class tickets for my overseas trips once a year.
However, Westpac cancelled the Amex card last year. I had to apply for the Amex issued Altitude Amex black card separately...Read more

One of the best black credit available.
It is very simple to use, Tap and Go. Pay with Apple and Android Pay.
Points are easily reedabmle and ongoing promotion of 80,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer available for people who spend at least $4,000 in the first 3 months.
The rewards can used in the Qantas Store and ongoing frequent flyer points.
Furthermore, this has the ability to use the Priorty Pass Lounges globally for all airports. Twice free entry per year. This is an additional value!!!

Good card
The card is good for everyday purchases & customer service support with any queries or disputing or querying payments is great. However the reward system can be difficult to navigate, when you don't do it often. I tried to transfer accumulated points to airline travel & it became very involved.

Good card for accumulating points
It is easy to accumulate points, and is it simple to redeem them. If you have the bundled AMEX then your points accumulate faster. There is annual benefit of lounge passes if you travel abroad quite often. However, I have been charged a fee for approved lounge in the past in Dubai. Their fraud detection is great and you can easily flag any disputed transactions. There are great offers on points for redeeming against credit payments at times.

EXCELLENT CARD - GREAT REWARD & EXCELLENT SECURITY
This card is provided as part of the Premium Advantage package for an annual fee of $395. Altitude rewards gives me some freebies whenever I get around to redeeming my points. When I book holidays I receive their complimentary travel insurance cover which saves $ on every trip. Plus extended warranty on purchases. Fraud protection is excellent as they email and SMS whenever they receive suspicious transactions. Interest rate is NOt a concern as I always pay the full amount each month.

Great! But could be better. Card is ideal except annual fees.
Similar to any other card provided by other Financial Service companies, there isn't really any real big difference. I have held this card for 3 years now and admit Westpac is pretty good overall, never had any issues with the services provided - the concierge really isn't worth it for the card offering as I found a cheaper flight than what Westpac was able to find online.
The points ratio is alright, though could be better. The only downside was when the split occurred between Westpac bundle and you had to go directly to American Express to o...Read more
btain the benefits of extra points plus an additional yearly annual fee that was already being charged for the use of the MasterCard with Westpac. I am considering shaking off the American Express Black and opting in for the Virgin Platinum instead. The only one gripe I have with Westpac is their disputes procedures, for what I pay annually and the cost of interest throughout the year I found it hard for Westpac to side with me with the clear scams that occur online, unfortunately for me Westpac sided with scammers when I tried to recover $400. I'd give it an overall 7/10.- Everyday Expenses

Previously great, now not!
When we first got this card the points system and rewards were a major deciding factor. It was originally packaged with an American Express card that really boosted the points earnings. Now that has been removed, unless we choose to pay more. Not happy! Will be moving banks as soon as we can.

It's ok, but was much better in the past.
This card suits my every day shopping needs well, allows me to accumulate points without an expiry and simple to redeem via their website...however....i used to like it before when holders were given fee free Amex accounts that gave double the points. I'm sad that over the years you need to acquire more points to get a $100 gift card. I always pay my card off on the due date so have never had interest applied so can not comment.

Good reward and extra benefits. But, too high annual fee and rate.
I got Westpac Altitude Black card. There are many benefits for card holders:
- PP card for two free access airport lounge
- Reward point and it can be transferred to airline points.
- Altitude reward program
- Free overseas travel insurance
I like the above benefits. There are also disadvantages:
- Higher annual fee. I don't understand why it is very high.
- Higher interest rate

Great new benefits under the dedicated Velocity Frequent Flyer program!
I am really excited about the recent changes to my existing Altitude Black card, now giving me access to Westpac's dedicated Velocity Frequent Flyer program. Previously, I opted into the Velocity auto-redemption feature through Altitude Rewards which only gave me 1 point for every $2 spend. Under the new program, I now have access to a number of free Virgin Australia Airport Lounge passes (issued annually), upgrades to premium economy and a better points earn rate (now 0.75 Velocity points per $1 spent).

Best EVER
So easy to collect points and redeem them. I pay everything with the card and points accumulate so quickly. Have had it for over 20 years. Use it overseas and no problems with it at all. There are fees for the card which can be paid with points. The amount I redeem far outways the fees.

A good card with set back
I have a Westpac Altitude black card. Its good for accumulating Qantas frequent flyer points and complimentary Travel Insurance, but certainly not good when it comes to paying for my holidays. I do a lot of cruising but when it comes to paying, cruise company like Cruise1st charges 2.5% or more on top of my expensive cruise payment. A lot of restaurants demand a surcharge of 2.5 % on top of your bill. As a result I used my Master card most of the time to eliminate the surcharge. If American Express wants more business out of their clients why don't they do something to make it more user friendly ? I would love to use my American Express card to accumulate points but at the same time it does not make sense to pay the extra surcharge .
