Unqualified and will void my warranty
Had someone from Bankstown help me out today. Clearly not a qualified mechanic working on my new VW. My car now requires a security code for the radio and windows no longer work correctly. Advised needed a new battery for a car less than a month old and diagnosed it with a multimeter with all of 20 seconds to do so. Taking this directly to VW to handle. Allianz is still to new in Roadside Assistance, they need to weed out these young people and get some qualified mechanics on the road.

Rude technician
Called to change my flat tyre; the rude and arrogant technician took off on me since he did not want to do the job.

Highly unprofessional
Pls save your money and valuable time by not opting for this service. The tow company (Grari Towing Company) they send is highly unreliable and unprofessional. The amount of phone calls you end up making will leave you frustrated. Better to look at RACV or some where else. I ended up cancelling my policy.

Find another roadside assist provider. This is not worth the money.
For your money, I highly recommend standard services like RACV over what is offered here. I have used both. These guys are have an unbelievably cluky system and slow response time on the road if you break down. However, even more frustrating is the telephone interface for discussing your policy. I have just been extensively bounced around the telephone robot several times. Finally got a human to ask about refunding the balance of my policy after selling the lemon VW Golf R that needed so much roadside assistance. Got bounced back to the beginni...Read more
ng of the telephone robot prompter because whoever answered didn't know if a refund was valid for a fully paid policy taken out two months ago. After wrestling with the robot telephone octopus, finally got someone human, who says you can't have a refund for a policy that is just two months old, because the firm simply doesn't do that. Extraordinary - even if I had not been told the contrary when I purchased the policy, it is not acceptable to be charging for services not rendered. The consultant (who in fairness, was very professional and polite), has now said a manager will go back and listen to the recorded conversations with me at the time of purchase and get back to me. I am not holding my breath - going by past form, I simply do not expect any form of follow up or integrity from this service provider.1 comment

Hopeless roadside assistance...left me stranded
So.... the only key to the car was lost..the car was parked on a gravel drive.
Rang them...told them the key was missing and the car was locked.
They ordered a tow truck.
The tow truck driver rang...told him it was locked and on gravel....he said he would not be able to help.
So I cancelled him and called Allianz again....asked for assistance to get the car unlocked.
They told me that my 13 year old Mercedes was impossible to unlock.
So now I'm stranded with no help.
Rang a friend who is a bit handy...he came down ...after a long wait an...Read more

Worst customer service!
Spoke to several advisor who refused to listen to me but give me a generic response that they don't do refunds. After numerous conversations I finally spoke to a team leader who gave me the dialogue of no refund policy. I then asked her yo give me the details of the complaints line which she advise in a sassy tone we are the complaints line. I then had to advise her that they are the advisory line not complaints line. Which she then apologized as she advised i can email the complaints team. I then advise her to send me the details of the team ...Read more
and to listen to the previous call. She then returns the call and advises me that a disclaimer had not been played to me therefore I will be entitled to the refund. I request her to send an email after the call ended with email confirmation of refund as well as complaints team details which she has failed to do. I then have to follow up several times to get in touch with after numerous calls being terminater on me and get told sorry it was sent not surr what happened but i will do it again after 1 hour or so. Not only has she failed in delivering her promises but she did not have active listening skills from the start. Advise maybe coaching on team leaders should be checked as they to are unable to identify the needs of the customer.1 comment

Over NRMA any day
Excellent customer service. The service by the call center and the service by the mechanic that turned up to attend to my car was excellent all round. In the middle of Sydney CBD on a Friday afternoon they were prompt, efficient and a detailed explanation was given for a non mechanic to understand. The mechanic phoned to say how far away
he was, inquired if I was in a safe place. When he arrived he was very curious and very professional.
I was previously with the NRMA and their service does not even come close to this.
All in all a great service provided that... very very happy customer ...

Good service everytime
Every time I've needed them for help with my 2011 VW Golf the service has been prompt, efficient and cheerful. I rejoined Volkswagen Assist today after some time away, as I had a battery fail, which was fitted by them in the past and still under warranty.
Given the option of a $100 callout fee which was refundable if the battery was found to be faulty, or recommencing my membership with a year of cover for $148.50 I decided to renew my cover. It turned out the battery was faulty so was replaced under warranty and I now have a year of roadsid...Read more

Allianz (mechanics) cannot change a fan belt
I broke down and the first thing allianz despatch told me was that they do not have the tools to replace the alternator belt and will only send a tow truck, when I told them I'm an ex NRMA road side mechanic and this should only take the mechanic a short period to replace and i had the belt she then advised me the tech is on his way.
I then received a call from an unhappy mechanic who said straight away he is coming but would not do the job, I started to ask what kind of mechanic he was he just hung up.
I called several times later and many ...Read more

Pay $100 Service fee for a battery still under warranty that AHG has assessed.
I had a flat battery yesterday that was still under warranty with Allianz. As I only had roadside assistance with AHG Allianz said I have to pay $100 service fee for Allianz to access the battery, and that AHG assessment is not good enough. Ahg then agreed to come out again 2nd time to give me paperwork with full diagnostic of the dead battery, when I told them Allianz is going to charge me a $100.Allianz still insisted that I have to pay $100 for them to come out. It was then suggested I take out road assistance with Allianz which cost me $99....Read more
When it was discovered that it was the battery when Allianz came to assess the battery. I am not able to get my $99 back. I now have two roadside assistance AHG and Allianz concurrently. Our whole family have Allianz roadside but will definitely not be renewing. And will be telling all my friends and colleagues as we all work for large organisations will be placing our experience on the noticeboards. I only wanted to renew my Allianz when AHG expired 14 December 2017.Now will be renewing elsewhere in the future. All I wanted is my $99 back.1 comment

Don't Trust Them
They changed the columns of their roadside assistance ad comparing the premium and the basic coverage which was very specific and clear and changed to just ticks and obfuscated alot of whats covered and it's all "grey" so you can't really see what you are really getting. Why renew with these people because they are just trying to make bigger profits so they pay out less by blurring people for what they can claim for it they have a break down..

Extremely proferssional
Found myself in a pickle late one Sunday evening. My VW Multivan has a very unusual holding place for the spare tyre. The night was late and rain was falling. I called Global assistance and Brett was not only prompt in getting there so late at night but changed my awkward tyre in the rain, efficiently and speedily with absolute no regard for himself and did so in a professional and gentlemanly manner. Not many around like this bloke!

No basic knowledge of the mechanics
Call Allianz roadside assistance tonight. They came very quick but the doesn't even have the basic knowledge of the mechanics. The guys coming for assistance should at least have basic knowledge about the mechanics and the electronics of the cars instead of just referring to the other mechanics without figuring out the actual problem.

Back on the road, but technician was inexperienced and over-confident
We switched to Allianz because we had ditched the NRMA after many years for ethical reasons. We've only had to call upon the Allianz assistance once. The car's (new) battery was flat. The Allianz truck arrived within about 30-40 minutes. The technician looked about 20-years-old and was overly-confident about the reason for the battery's predicament. The assessment wasn't terribly detailed. The battery was recharged and we were on our way soon enough, but I couldn't help wondering if the technician would have been useful for something more complicated than a flat battery.

Inept Processes and Poor Service
As part if being insured with Allianz, they provide you with roadside assistance. I recently had cause to use this service when my vehicle broke down recently, very very close to home. I called them and explained what had happened and that whilst I am not a mechanic I think I would need a tow truck - they advised someone would be to me in 10-60 mins ....... a technician arrived approx 54 mins later ..... it took him 30 seconds to work out I needed a tow truck !! so he called one and I ws advised it would be there in 10-60 mins ....... I then wa...Read more
ited for 1 1/2 hours for the tow truck to arrive. Then when I contacted Allianz to ask if these timelines were normal and why they always say 10-60 mins when mine was closer to 90 mins, they shifted all the blame on to the 3rd party tow truck operator - they took nil responsibility for their processes and the poor advice I was given. Very poor service all round so I will take my car insurance to another provider when next due.2 comments

BEWARE THEY WILL RiP YOU OFF WiTH AN OLD BATTERY
My daughter rang Alianz roadside assistance because her car wouldn't start. She had informed the person on the phone that she thought it might be the battery. When the Guy arrived he was in a bright yellow shirt and a white van, there was no Alianz writing on his clothing or the van. He never tested the battery, but told her she needed a new one, so he charged her $160. He did not give her an invoice like he was meant to but only an eftpos receipt, which had autocare at padstow which is a mechanic workshop not Alianz. When my daughter arrived h...Read more
ome we looked at the battery and it was an old one not a new one. We rang Alianz and the guy that came out, can't remember his name but he looked like Harry potter couldn't help us but told us that someone would ring us. He did agree it looked old but offered to clean it but didn't really care and just left in a hurry. So later John from Queensland rang me and told me the was a 3 year warranty and that really there was nothing he could do but he did promise to ring us the next day. Surprise Surprise Good old john never rang and he really wasn't interested that the whole scenario was So dodgy. The next morning the Battery was flat so we had to ring them again. We had a lovely fellow come out he was really helpful and answered all our questions and replaced the faulty battery, I think his name was Trent. Im disappointed with the service and treatment from the rest of Alianz I think it's disgusting.1 comment
