Effective Service
There was only 1.5 days between the decision and departure ... so very little time to get insurance organised.
As I had used Allianz for travel insurance before (3-4 times), I applied for the policy online. The process was very efficient and good value for money.

Great cover
After performing extensive research on covers the Allianz Travel policy came up top for best cover options and was competitively priced. I am very happy with the Allianz product and service and hold a number of policies with Allianz.

Easy to extend coverage period
I had to extend my insurance period while overseas due to unexpected issues. Staff were most helpful in extending period and payment was easy and seamless. I would use Allianz again.

Gave me peace of mind
Good value. Easy to arrange by phone. ON nearly all other occasions I have used my husbands ANZ Credit Card Travel Insurance as we usually travel together. Took out a separate policy this time as I travelled alone and very happy with Alliance.

Comprehensive? Cancellation Cover - Unlimited?
We are new Retiree's who back on 30th November 2022 took out your Comprehensive Cover Product for peace of mind for our first dream trip in late April 2020 to Italy. Due to world wide matters outside of our control ("The Virus") it is now extremely too risky for us to now embark of this planned and fully prepaid holiday and we have no alternative but to cancel our trip. Over the weekend we suddenly learned that your Comprehensive Travel Policy excludes the Viral Issue that is now impacting across the world. We are now completely angered by this observation and as a client of many many years of your Brand of products I cannot begin to explain the adverse financial impact that this has on us.

Read the fine print.
I previously used TID and InsureandGo and wish I had kept doing so. Because we are with HCF I decided to use their product.Big mistake. I always purchase when the first dollar is spent -purchased policy Sep 2022. Allianz now tell me there is no hospital/expenses coverage (or any coverage whatsoever) if we get sick/quarantined/cancelled/whatever due to Coronavirus/epidemic/pandemic as we are travelling to Vietnam.Allianz is also used by most CreditCard ins (not amex).
InsureandGo plus TID have full coverage for Coronavirus/epidemic/pandemic if purchases early.ByeBye HCF and Allianz travel/car/home.Yes I know it's all hidden in the pages of fineprint.

Was pease of mind
It was super easy to set up, agree policy was good value although were fortunate that it was needed to enter a claim :) this was our Second or Third time using this Insurance Company :) and will always use this company :)

Easy to purchase
I found the process to purchase my policy for a trip to Japan skiing very simple online. It was simple to declare a pre-existing injury I didn’t incur an additional cost. All in all it was a seamless experience.
I have not rated five stars because I haven’t had to make a claim and we all know that can sometimes be challenging with insurance companies. I have no reason to suggest that Alianz would be problematic for a claim. I recommend this company based on my experiences. I will continue to purchase my travel insurance through them.

A must if you travel
I booked policy online with no issues. PDS and certificate arrived by return email. Good value for the cover. Used same company repeated times. Nil claims required but is good to know you are covered.

Although I didn't need to claim the insurance; the purchase and pricing was very competitive. I am a first time user and have used other companies previously - but needed to be purchased through a travel agent - so extra commission fees.
Will use Allianz again.

Need total cover for my overseas trips

The policy was good value, east to understand and was easily obtained on line.
We didn't need to make a claim.
This is the first time we used Allianz for travel insurance.

Good coverage but difficult to get in contact to extend
Thankfully we didn't need to claim anything. Setting up online was easy however disappointed that whilst in the USA couldn't get in contact with anyone to extend. (Rang U.S. number however they could not help and was instructed to call Aus number ...difficult when you're O.S.! Turns out the Aus only take calls during business hours Monday to Friday and they were closed. With no way to extend online or over phone it meant that my husband (who had to extend stay due to his mother's passing) was not covered for the last part of his trip which was stressful.

Found this insurance cover equal or better than others out in the market place. Price comparison with other insurance company's this wins hands down. I am confident that IF having to make a claim all would proceed smoothly.

We are in a similar situation with our ANZ Platinum Travel Insurance. I rang the customer service centre on 1300135271 on the 26 Feb and waited 50 minutes before I got a rep to help - he assured me I should be covered for the corona virus as I activated the cover in March 2022 but that each claim would be assessed on a case by case basis. I wanted to get written confirmation (our trip is worth more than $20,000) so I emailed the ANZAllianz claims department on March 1. Today I received this reply and the bottom line of the reply stated:
“Please be aware of the following -
Regardless of when you have purchased the policy or become eligible the exclusion will apply to all benefits within the policy/booklet if the claim arises from or relates to COVID-19 (corona virus)
Regardless of travel advisory dates, the exclusion will apply to all benefits within the policy if the claim arises from or relates to COVID-19 (corona virus)” needless to say we are very unhappy!! I tried ringing the 131000 but gave up after 30 minutes. Sadly the bookings were with a group of 6 friends and as we are all around 70 - it’s a huge risk to travel uninsured.

Acting CEO Kevin Blyth says Allianz Partners has taken into account the advice of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the New Zealand Government, which is advising against all but essential travel to China.
“Anyone who took out a policy with us prior to our travel advisory today (Jan 30) will definitely be covered for the coronavirus outbreak,” Blyth told Insurance Business.
“That advisory was our line in the sand, as we expect that everybody would know by this stage that this is a known event.”
“As Tim Grafton rightly said in his statement, it is very difficult to ascertain costs when something becomes a pandemic, and being able to price for that is very difficult,” he explained. “We’ve probably been one of the more generous insurers, and have held off on our travel advisory for as long as we could.”
Allianz Partners excludes pandemics and epidemics under its policy wording, and Blyth says the insurer usually waits for the WHO to declare an epidemic before it stops offering cover. He says he has not yet had any claims related to the coronavirus, but there has been a massive uptick in queries regarding customers’ travel policies.
