Nice guy but not skilled
Alpha came to repair my Asko dishwasher. When he arrived, the dishwasher suddenly began to work simply by turning it off and on. Service person decided to take apart the mental front that concealed the tray housing the electronics to ensure it was not flooded. It was bone dry. He put the panel back on. $155 later after he left, I turned on the dishwasher to do a load of dirty dishes and surprised to find a flooded the kitchen!! Will never use them again, nor would I ever recommend them!!! So disappointing.

Prompt, affordable, effective service
My washing broke down on New Year's Day (as it would!). I checked the web for nearby repairers and tried to filter the good ones by checking with Product Review. That turned out to be a good move. I rang Alpha Appliance Repairs about midday on Tuesday and was connected to a real person in about half a minute. The receptionist was polit...Read more
e and spoke clearly, and, after checking with the service guys she advised that a repairman would call between 11 and 2 the next day. Next day Mark called at 11:30 to say he would arrive in about half an hour, and he did. He checked the washing machine, found a blockage in the pump which he fixed, and was back out the door after 30 min. The charge was $145 (no parts required) which I consider quite reasonable, and is considerably less than the +$200 minimum charges reported by others on this site. The washing machine is more than 10 years old and Mark could easily have said the pump, or any other part, needed replacement to gouge up the cost, but he didn't. I can highly recommend this repairer to anyone in Sydney who needs appliance service.
