They use inferior products from Israel like chromagen that don’t last
I had a solar hot water system installed in jan 2014 that cost 3.2K and after only 18 months the tank insert exploded and poured water all over my roof. I had to turn off the water at the main and call a plumber. Greenup or Australian hot water told me to call chromagen myself to get them to replace the tank under warranty. They were unpleasant to deal with and left us with out hot water for several weeks whilst they tried to get out of replacing it. I had 2 young children at home and it was the start of winter. r a crane they insisted on hiring to put it back on my roof and removing the faulty one. I’ve had 2 thermostats replaced also in 3 years and now the new tank that was replaced may 2016 has again exploded and again I find myself without hot water . So don’t trust Australian hot water to give you a good product .,review the products before you let them instal anything and make sure it’s not cheap and nasty. I see chromagen is no longer a brand they promote. So now I have to go without hot water until I can afford to have the crap they installed taken off my roof and pay a small fortune to put In an old reliable electric hot water system and re route all wiring and pipes. Bad Customer Service and overpriced
Our Solar hot water was leaking, they attached a value. The system started leaking again in less than a month. The behaviour of the customer service attendant on the phone was definitely not a pleasant one. I would certainly not recommend them.

Provided extra professional help for something that’s not their fault.
It’s a bit miscommunication to start with Australian hot water Seven Hills. however they in the end provided help free of charge for something that may not be their fault. I bought a house which the building inspector found out gas leaking at inspection, and the previous owner thought there’s gas leaking from the hot water system which was installed by them. They came and inspected the hot water system and signed the paper off on cooling off period. So I called them and expressed my concern that the gas leaking wasn’t fixed with the misleading that they came for a general gas leaking inspection instead of hot water system only previously. There’s misleading and a bit arguing in that he beginning. However they offered to come fix the gas leak for me the next day free of charge, I was really impressed. Stay away - ok unless something goes wrong and then they sting you.
I brought a new Rimmi hot water heater just 4 years ago. That was fine, a little on the expensive side but they could replace the same day and I thought they offered a solid warranty if anything went wrong. That’s not the case.
The thermostat broke in the Hot Water Heater. It was at this stage I was informed of all the limits and clauses in my warranty contract. It was really expensive to replace - mainly because of the extortionate call out fee and labour charges.
I will be pursuing action against them eith the ACCC and NSW dept of Fair Trading.

Very overpriced in comparison to smaller businesses
Their quote was at least thirty percent more expensive then their competitors and they would not budge on price. They're only pro is they do all electrical also should that be needed. In short, you're paying a big premium but easier for lazy consumers.

No problem service
I had my broken hot-water system replaced with a gas unit. The service was fast (next day) and they removed all rubbish and disconnected the off peak electrical system from main board as well. I also received a $500 cash back for switching to gas heating. All communication between myself and this company has been fast and responsive and I will recommend and use this company for any future plumbing services.

Not impressed with Company
We have a few Rental Properties & had recently changed our Property Manager. Tenant advised no hot water Property Manager organised Aust Hot Water to repair or replace. Tenant moved out after 2 years final Inspection showed Tank Cover (dented) damaged - tenant said the HW tank was already damaged when it was installed )Tank is wall mounted near ceiling). Another tenant advised no HW. Aust Hot Water arrived & New Tank installed. Next day very angry tenant rang no HW - Aust Hot Water installed another New Tank. They said element must be faulty. We informed Property Manager in future always contact the Hot Water Manufacturers (not local Plumbers) for replacement or repair.

Fantasic quick and professional
I am renting and my hot water system was giving me rusted water. They sent out someone at 7:30 the next morning to investigate and were at my place the following morning to replace the system
What a bunch of total professionals. Would highly recommend them.

Follow up services lousy
Installed the hot water okay but it is almost cold in a Canberra winter and they want to charge a $200 call out fee to adjust it!

Quick service on a pubic holiday
Hot water system stopped working on a public holiday (of course!) and AHW had technician Eddie out within an hour of the service call. He quickly found a temporary solution to get me through the day and sourced and installed a new system within 24 hours. 5 star rating for customer service, expertise and followup.

Good service, great workmanship
We had Eddy come to replace our hot water cylinder. He was pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful, and the work he did on installing the new system was tidy and professional. The connnections and pipes were obviously installed by a tradesman who is very good at what he does. Great job.

Fantastic! Great service from Australian Hot Water Seven Hills.
Dean and Scott (and Billy on the phone) saved the day after I was left in the lurch by another company.
Great advice and a new unit installed within 24 hours. They were very clear that tank would take some time to heat, Switched my off peak meter to ensure that it was hot at the earliest possible and came back to switch it back again.
Highly recommend.

NO hot water in the first night of the installation
The company may be good but the plumbers they sent were careless. We did not have hot water at all at first night after installation because they installed that thing inside out. I realised something was not right just in two hours after installation and contacted the company telling them I did not feel warn at all after two hours before 4:30. They told me that I had to wait for 4-5 hours and it was nonsense. Why the plumbers could not wait and test the system properly before they left. Careless!

Continual Cold Showers
Had cold showers since they changed water temperature without my permission.
I wish I never got this installed as I want to have hot showers.
They will not change this.
You should not do things owners have Not Requested.

Canberra office not to be trusted
After a long dispute regarding an Australian Consumer Law issue, which has involved the Canberra office of Australian Hot Water, myself and the Office of Fair Trading, the Manager finally offered to refund 25% of the cost of the job. After accepting this offer no refund has been forthcoming and correspondence is not answered. Needless to say, until this undertaking is kept, I shall never use this company again and advise others not to either.
