Asko Reliability Report
We've had our Asko 1805 dishwasher for over 21 years, normally run every third night. During this time it has required the following maintenance:
After 6 years, $505 to replace circuit board and install bigger rinse-aid dispenser (one year after the 5y electrical warranty ended). The replacement circuit board is now stuck on Normal program but temperature, drying & economy options can still be changed.
After 11 years, $70 to replace rusted lower rack insert (the plastic coating cracked), and the replacement one is now rusting in one spot.
After 14 years, $122 to fix shorting electrical wires at bottom of door (common dishwasher problem where plastic insulation cracks due to repeated bending).

Simply a Must
Looks good and works well, which is what is expected! Stainless steel interior so it wont become brittle and crack. Very quiet, cleans and drys items on a number of settings, love the environmental and use it constantly. Easy to clean with Bi-carb as soap and vinegar as the rinseaid

I bought a lemon
A year out of the 2 year warranty it won't switch on. I have to pay 100$ call out fee to get it fixed. It is a quiet machine and cleans well when it's working. The staff have been pleasant to talk to. I expected that I would have no problems when I bought a quality' product.

Excellent
Love this dishwasher...it is very quiet, the baskets slide out quite easily. The control panel is easy to use and my husband can use it without me....Very easy to keep clean just wipe down the exterior and clean the filter....There is no need to rinse dishes and it dries the dishes really well....

The more things change.
This is a pretty good machine in that it does what the one it replaced did (it was a 16 y.o. Dishlex) - it washes and dries dishes reasonably well. Funny thing is how little has changed in 20 odd years. If it goes for 17 years I'll do a revised rating.

a really good washer. dries well too.
Easy to stack with a sliding basket for cutlery (removable). Very quiet operation. Simple touch controls. Stailess steel interior stays sparkling clean.filter is easy to remove and clean. Manual says not rinse dishes first and even with only scraping plates filter requires little cleaning.
Exterior is easy to keep clean.

Quiet and functional
I had my old Asko for 25 years with only a couple of services due to broken glasses in drainage pipe. The new dishwasher is excellent. It is quiet, washes dishes very well, and has great functions, especially the 6 minute rinse cycle, so I do do a full cycle every 2/3 days.

Excellent operation, very reliable
This dishwasher has been daily used from day one, and hasn't missed a beat. It was purchased in 2014 and it is still going as well as the day we got it. Dishes are cleaned very well, even saucepans, and are usually completely dry, even the plastics. It is easy to use (once we read the instructions). I like the details like the child lock, and the ability to regulate the rinse aid and the fact that the power button is in the top of the door instead of the front, so small children are not tempted to play with it.

Top quality machine
How quiet? The water sloshing around is certainly not loud enough to be intrusive. Most of the wash options seem to me to be redundant as I get a perfect wash out of the 58 minute "Quick Wash". Pots and glasses come out sparkling.
A cinch to install.
It replaces a 13 y.o. 1705 model, which I would still be using if ASKO had parts for it (seems they don't expect their machines to last that long!) I called on the Service only twice in those years.
I went for the ASKO because of the reviews. Other cheaper big brand names didn't sound like it was worth trying to save the extra dollars.
I'll review my next ASKO dishwasher in about, say, 14 years!

Love it. Very sturdy inside fittings. Washes very well.
Very quiet. Washes well. Second asko I have purchased due to high quality and performance. Wouldn't buy any other brand. High performance machine that is built to a very high standard. Internal fittings make this an excellent choice. Fits larger plates and stemmed glasses well. Highly recommend this machine for any buyer.

Commonsense, user-friendly, quality machine
In comparison to the Dishlex I owned before, this marchine is a dream.
Quiet, easy to operate and designed with a commonsense approach. Glasses don't topple over when sliding the drawers in and out which was a constant hassle with my old dishwasher. The cutlery basket can be moved around the bottom shelf so you can pack your machine the way you want to.
There is a rinse-aid compartment and my glasses have come out clean and shiny ever time. The detergent holder opens and empties out the contents every time as well, so there is no more soapy...Read more

Terrible machine and terrible service
Buy a Bosch instead!!! We have purchased a couple of these machines for use in our offices and they have been nothing but trouble in the 6 months since purchasing them. They are unreliable and the wash quality is substandard, one has already been replaced. If you happen to purchase this machine for use in an office and it breaks down after 3 months do not expect help from the service department without having to pay a fortune for it even if it is throwing the F11 error, a known problem, and a plumber has been unable to identify an issue on 2 occasions.

THE perfect dishwasher
Fantastic. Takes LARGE dinner plates and platters without hitting top spray arm. Excellent range of programmes with extra drying options if necessary. Dries perfectly...except for the thin plastic stuff but then no dishwasher does!!!!! Has cutlery basket - unlike the other new models that have a cutlery tray....that would drive me mad! Don't need to rinse dishes first. Has double filter which is easy to clean. Only need to clean filter every couple months. Quiet operation. This is my second Asko. Sold the last with my last house -still working beautifully after 15 years. Pay a little bit more. It's worth it. We have had this one a little over 2 years and it hasn't skipped a beat.

Continual faults - have to pay each time
We bought this machine four years ago. Does not clean well. What is worse is we were happy to buy a quality machine and parted with the best part of $1500. We have had the tech out four times and need him again for F11/F12 faults. Even he said the machine should be replaced if it happens again. We booked him but missed the tech by about 10 minutes and now have a bill for $100 and a broken dishwasher.
They couldn't even pick up the phone when they got here. Time to swallow the bitter nearly $2000 pill (after repeated service calls - apparently out of warranty the last two) and buy a quality machine.

Machine won't start
machine started giving problems with the display. Would start itself again and buttons would work intermittently. After a few weeks the buttons have stopped working all together. Machine is a little over 3 years old. Would have expected to get a bit longer from what is branded as a premium appliance. Very disappointing and not worth the money!

Just great
This has replaced my last Asko which we had for approximately 12 years.
We are happy. Washes well, quiet operation - but like with so many new appliances the time to complete a cycle is very long. However mostly we get by with the eco setting which is extremely efficient.

A good looking machine that does its job.
cleans well with quality dish tablets
a little quieter than our good old Bosch
Good finish and build quality, tray extends towards the door
So far so good but it is still fairly new to rate its reliability
The delivery was late so they offered to have it installed free of charge. Went better because installation was not as easy as I have imagined with the way our current kitchen is set up. Thank you

One big disappointment
Thought I was doing the right thing by buying an Asko. Big mistake. I certainly wasn't impressed with its washing results, and five years on the machine blows up. Fault, major fault in its electronics. Not worth the money. Noisy to run, and expensive to repair. Do your self a favour and look at other brands!

machine not working, very dissapointed with asko
Machine washes really well however there is a problem :
the display panel seems frozen. 2 of of the lights are on in the display panel. the time on the start button reads 2:18, we can't start the machine nor can we adjust any of the settings. the display panel is unresponsive to touch. we thought buying an Asko would be a good investment with reliability,

Great dishwasher
Great dishwasher, this is my second one as I left my first one in my rental property that I own (and know it's still working today) and had no hesitation to buy another. Used the first for 2 years, current one for 3 years.
Cleans very well even when very heavily stacked and I see no need to pay for a more expensive model.
The only drawbacks I have is that it is noisier than other dishwashers and doesn't dry very well, I'm sure these more expensive Asko's don't have these issues, but they aren't deal breakers for me, getting clean dishes i...Read more
s the priority. I have had issues with Finish tablets not dissolving recently, but I'm certain it's an issue with the tablet. I went back to Fairy tablets and it's been fine. Lastly, both of mine were made in Sweden. The current ones are made in Slovenia, I'm not certain they are of the same quality. The only reasons why production shifts to a lower wage country is to boost profit, noting that Asko have not reduced the RRP since production has moved from Sweden.Similar opinion? Moisture trapped in the display panel, start stop button not responding.

Try to use the drier a few times and when completed leave the door Open it may dry the moisture up.
