The worst dishwasher I have ever wasted my money on
Every load from the second I bought the machine left the dishes with so much grit that i had to hand wash each dish before I put it in the dishwasher. After 4 years I found a big piece of sticky tape in the pipe, that comes from the dishwasher and I thought my worries were over. However, since then, the dishes seem to wash better but I keep getting F11/F12 on the display and can't get it working despite it being assessed by the repair man who has informed me that he finds no faults with it. for good. Often, undoing the pipe and shaking it helped get it going again for a couple more washes. Looking now for a good quality dishwasher to buy, would appreciate any recommendations. Great quality
My Asko has fantastic wash / dry results,quite,easy to use & has 20 minute quick wash. Better quality than the other Brands I had seen in many retailers. All round great value for money I am very pleased I purchased it. The D5424 has saved me so much time already.

The best dishwasher I have ever owned
I was highly recommended by my brother to buy this Asko dishwasher and ever since I purchased it a year ago, I have never looked back. It's a incredible system, washing the all the cutlery, plates, pots, pans and cups, to crystal clear. It even dries. Magnificent product, I'm very happy with it.

Horrible service. Stay away from it!!
I bought a stainless steel model (D5424SS) on March 13, organised the delivery and installation on Mar 16. Then I realised that white colour suits better with my cabinet, so called ASKO on Mar 15 to change the colour to white. Then my trouble starts.
First, I was told they can't deliver on Mar 16 because I changed the color of the dishwasher. ll. Called ASKO again in the afternoon, and was told that they have run out off white in this model. I asked why I was not told in the first place, the lady simply said the person who asked my phone made a mistake, and she was going to tell him off. Throughout the conversation, she has not shown a single sign of sympathy to my situation, or apologised for the inconvenience caused. I was a bit fed up, but thought it is possible that guy overlooked the stock. I then asked when the stock will arrive, and was told after Easter, and they will call me to organise a delivery once the stock arrive. One week after Easter, I still heard nothing. Called them again on Apr 1. The guy who answered my call was a lot nicer. Yes, the stock has arrived for a while, but he did not know why no one contacted me. He organised a delivery and installation on Apr 6. I told him I was let down twice already, and I need to take time off from work, please make sure this will happen. He said he would put that in his notes. Waited the whole day on Apr 6, still nothing happened. Called ASKO again, said I had enough, and don't want it, please cancel my order and refund my money. Luckily, it is the same person who answered my call on Apr 1, he apologised and promised that he would cancel my order and refund my money. I checked my account today (Apr 14), no refund. Called ASKO again, was told it takes up to 21 days to receive a refund!!! Apparently, they did not received the request of refund at all!! What?! It took them 1 second to take my money, and it took them 21 days to give my money back - longer than tax refund. Moreover, I need to provide my credit card details to them AGAIN!3 comments

It dries everything.. even plastic.
I love this dishwasher. It is so cleverly designed and fits bigger dishes and even champagne glasses. And it dries everything! Even plastic.
The cycles are slightly longer but if I put it on overnight, it is ready in the morning and can be unpacked straight away. No drying needed.

Pathetic Already!
Ordered an ASKO D5456SS via Harvey Norman was told that ASKO has confirmed availability of the D5456SS and waiting for a delivery date - Get a call back saying D5456SS is not in STOCK! Ok fair enough opted for D5646SS $200 extra and happy to pay - [name removed] form HN COburg advice that ASKO will call me and take payment and to wait for the call. Delivery fixed for 11/03 and had to take a day off for this!
Mid day no calls - nothing, called and ended up finding that ASKO "missed" the order and can't get it to me until next week!!

I love this dishwasher
I love this dishwasher. I recently changed from another brand (12 years old) so was a bit nervous. I can't fault it. Sales person at Winnings was brilliant, the dishwasher is easy and just works. I recently thought there was something wrong with the start switch and the service guy was amazing. (It turned out that I wasn't pressing it properly, but I wasn't charged and the guy was great about it.)

I LOVE IT!!!!
I purchased this model approximately 2 years ago and I love it, I only use the recommended Finish dishwasher tablets and the Finish rinse aid. I turned the water temp. and drying temp. both up to high and find this gives me the best results. The machine is quiet and the stainless steel cleans really easily, but what I really love is I frequently use the rinse cycle to wash my dishes and it only takes around an hour, I get the odd bit that has to go back in for a second wash but for a wash that takes only an hour...who cares...
Overall I think Asko is great value for money and I love it so much I will be buying a washing machine and dryer in the future.

very poor customer service.
Purchased an Asko dish washer after new year. Had to organise someone to be at home to receive the delivery, but the technician had no show twice. When try to make a compliant, the representative is very rude and it is far from the professional service that they praised themselves as.
should have listen to the stuff from DJ that ASKO's after sell service is below bar.
Stay away from this brand.

We purchased this new machine 2 years ago after owning a previous Asko model for 20 years. We went Asko again because we had such a good run with our previous machine. Whilst the new model washes as well as the our previous model, unfortunately it has never been as reliable and had has continual F11 errors the entire 2 years of ownership. This error stops the machine from running and then continually beeps until you go and turn it off. This error is supposed to be caused by a blockages in the drain hose, pump or filter. I clean the filter, check the hose and do all things the online manual suggests. This never seems to work but strangely the next day it works okay again. When this became a common pattern of events I had Asko service come out to look at it. The tech said he could not find any fault but he did say he didn't think it had been installed properly. I then said that's strange because it was installed by Asko. He replied "Oh okay, well lets see how it goes then" Unfortunately the fault has kept on sporadically occurring. It's a very inconvenient fault especially when you have guests or people staying. It's been difficult to book another service because it usually goes away after a few stops and starts or the next cycle or at worst case the next day. You also don't want to end up looking stupid when you call the tech and it decides to run okay when he turns up. My concern is like a lot of electronic manufacturers today, Asko may have sought cheaper means to manufacture their most recent models due to the new electronics intrerfaces. They have lost the simplistic problematic free features like dial controls and possibly the build quality they were once well know for is just not there anymore. I have just purchased a new Miele for a new home I'm currently building. Fingers crossed this machine and the service will be of a higher standard and not have issues.1 comment

Frustrating for the price
We spent quite a bit since the salesman told us how great Asko is, and I know Asko has a good reputation, however I regret getting this machine.
The touch buttons are an absolute pain and require repeated attempts to select. But most annoyingly it struggles to dissolve the dishwashing tablets (Finish Quantum). We have cleaned the filter and run the dishwasher cleaner and the problem still isn't solved. This has never been a problem with any of my previous dishwashers, even cheapies that cost half the price.

error where the water would come in the inlet, but the machine could not detect that the water had come in so the machine would not run. It took 8 days for the repairman to come out and it was a quick fix. Basically the sensor was faulty so he changed the setting so that it ran on a timer instead.1 comment

Never Again
We bought our Asko dishwasher in August this year. After installation incl carpenter electrician and plumber we found it didn't work. So carpenter comes back to remove the kick boards, etc. to get it out. We had to drive to the next town (30 kms) to have it repaired as they don't do call outs. Then the fun began. The electrical repair shop was having difficulty with communications from Asko. They don't answer emails or return calls. When I called Asko after a lengthy wait, I was treated patronisingly. The lady called me Darl and blamed the repair shop for not contacting them!! I told her this was not true. It is now late October and I am still looking at a hole in my kitchen. Not happy!

Little Disappointed
Due to a leaking pipe from behind my older sink, my old F&P dishwasher became inoperable due to water getting into the electrics. So with much research and talking to apparently knowledgeable sales staff at numerous shops, we were convinced that the Asko was the best option for us.
As for the aesthetics and fit-ability into the existing hole, it was great and it was very easy to hook up to the existing pipes and tap in the kitchen.
However this is where the fondness of our new machine soon stopped.

Purchased this model and am waiting for it to do a good wash. I am tired of checking every item I pull out of the dishwasher at the end of the cycle to check that it has cleaned properly. Am always throwing something back into the sink to hand wash. Have submitted a question via email and have not received a reply so I am posting my comments here. VERY DISAPPOINTING! Paid $1200. Caught Fire!
So we have an Asko dishwasher, roughly 3-4 years old and recently during a cycle, shorted the power out in our house. DO NOT BUY AN ASKO
Asko were delayed in delivering the dishwasher.
Then it didn't work properly and trying to get Asko to send a technician takes forever.
It was then fixed only to stop working again the next night. Spent too much of my life waiting just trying to speak to an Asko service person. Only for them not to phone back when they say they will. Have spent almost a month without a dishwasher that works which isn't fun with a family of five. Will NEVER buy an ASKO ever again!

Dishes never dry and DW has mildewy smell
We purchased two of these dishwashers for our office a couple of months ago. We run them once or twice a week with office dishes -- mugs, glasses, a few plates and bowls. Nothing heavy duty. One of the machines never dries the dishes even on the hot dry cycle. And this machine now has a mildew-like odor that we can't get rid of even after running it on a few empty cycles. We've been leaving it open hoping to air it out. I'm disappointed in this machine. I've owned Asko at home and liked it but this one machine is not right.

Cleans everything spotlessly
Moved house and left our old Asko behind. New house had a 6 month old Bosch unit so we thought we would be OK. Not so. It was noisy, didnt wash properly or dry anything, and had dreadful odour about it.
Off to the shops to buy a new Asko. Realised that unlike the Asko not all dishwashers have a stainless inner lining, hence the smell from the Bosch. Don't waste your money on this.
This has been by far the worst dishwasher I have ever used. The design is great, it's quiet (too quiet, you can't tell if it is running), no knobs, very sleek. That is the only thing it has going for it. It doesn't wash or dry my dishes well. If the bottom if completely full of plates it barley rinses of the upper tray. The inside of the dishwasher is covered in residue and it looks quite unappealing. The filter is always clogging, when I remove it there are no food particles (I rinse the dishes off before I put them in) there is just a soap building up clogging the very fine filter. Tee dishes are never dry no matter what cycle i use. I wish i could get my money back...
