Wanted a refund refused.
i was contacted by Australian Escapes, They convinced me to join saying I could use my all my credit to take my family on a holiday, twice they told me I could use it, one of the men even told me he guaranteed me 200% that I could use it all . That was in August this Year and I am still trying to get my money back .
I told them a week after I tried to book a cruise, you see I have $9000 credit, the cruise would have cost $6000 so I thought that's great I will book, but surprise surprise they said that man I spoke to was sacked an...Read more
d the other man I spoke to is getting retrained . I spoke to the man In charge he was so condescending and rude his attitude was we don't give holidays away you know. I told him that I am canceling my registration and want my money back his response was you wont get it any quicker if you keep calling . That is the last I heard from him . My husband has tried to talk to him, but has not called back . Please do not get involved with this company.

Don't use Australian Escapes
My elderly mother (80) has been a member of Australian Escapes Holiday Club for over 13 years. Australian Escapes has persistently contacted her year on year to renew the membership despite her growing inability to access or understand the service. A decision was made to transfer the account into my name to avoid wasting the thousands of dollars invested into the account. In trying to organise two separate trips through the company we were met with extremely terrible and baffling customer service. Staff were deliberately unhelpful and passive a...Read more
ggressive. They were never able to provide us with even a simple quote that accounted for Gcash credit discounts, but instead, kept offering tours and itineraries where the Gcash credits were not applicable. Upon complaining about this to them we received a defensive reply and an unwillingness to provide us with the CEO's details. This company is in the business of taking advantage of people who have limited understanding of how the company actually works, how their money is translated into points and the limits of translating these points into a valuable or tangible discount. They deliberately elongate and complicate their process in order to put the customer in a position where it is easier to 'give up'. One staff member even wrote to us confiding that she has not been paid by the company for several months and was unsure about the viability of the company. Further, when in touch with the CEO he advised us to go to Flight Centre to obtain a travel itinerary and quote which again appeared to try and encourage us to pursue other avenues, or to limit the amount of workload and responsibility of Australian Escapes. I would certainly never advise anyone to ever become a member of this company if approached.1 comment

We are certainly not in the business of trying to misguide people. We supply a lot of information on the website about how the membership and credits work. Unfortunately not everyone understands. We d... Read more
o not deliberately elongate the process, however when we have hundreds of travel enquiries ahead of us during the busiest periods we can only do our best to get back to everyone on time. In the cases where we send a person to Flight Centre, it is done as a last resort to get clarity on their requirements, so we can arrive at an understanding of requirements. We have private messaged to find out more information so this issue can be resolved.

Unfortunately, as per Rip Off above - We had a couple of new salespeople in 2017 who did not understand how the flight vouchers (and Getaway Cash travel credits) worked and/or made promises that were ... Read more
untrue. As a company we do not condone anyone making false statements. Those staff were retrained or terminated as applicable. In regard to using all credits for a free holiday, it simply cannot be done. We did our best to explain the use of GCash credits and the fact that they can be used towards a holiday up to the level of the retail margin in the deal. These policies are explained in detail in the FAQ section of our website. We have private messaged for further information to try and resolve this issue with the customer.
