don't bother
I have signed up 3 days ago and have not been able to make or receive calls.
It is connected because I receive missed call messages.
It is part of Telstra but its not using there system. I have a Telstra booster which is showing 5 bares, my phone only shows 1 bare. I have tried a different known phone same thing. I have driven to a large regional city where I have gotten 5 bars but still no in or out calls can be made. The only contact you have with them is threw emails which they say could take 24 hours to respond to. It is now 2 days since sending several help enquires and not a single response,

The only crossed wires are the ones id like to put around Telstra's neck.

Telstra has 5 bars and you supposedly use there system and you are a Telstra subsidiary. I suspect your division is only there to annoy people enough that they get frustrated and wind up going back to Telstra's main game and pay exorbitant rates.

Porting took me number of calls to resolve. Worst services. Account does not show any credit after activation of porting
I ported new sim $40 and received additional $50 credit due to the promotion in December 2022. My account did not have this amount even though it was showing after activation. Belong deducted $40 from direct debit in first month and continued debit from account following month. its completely rip off.

What a bunch
Cancelled belong on account of unreliable service, though keep contacting me for next payment, though cancelled before LAST PAYMENT was due. I'd like to admire something about them though can't find a single thing that they're good at.

Cant make or receive calls
I moved over to Belong because of price and that it's on the Telstra network and it now seems like it was too good to be true. With my job, I rely heavily on my phone but for whatever reason 'm unable to make or receive calls. This leading me to have to waste time and use a landline. Very frustrating.

Extreme call drop
I never had a call drop while calling abroad until I switched to Belong. Insanely frequent call drop, driving me crazy. Not sure what kind of technology Belong is using, technical team must work on this. This is really a poor service in 2020.

Belong great service for $15 :)
I was very happy with your service. All inquiries were solved by app so I can't complain:) The only issues were: reception as it wasn't the best at my home and no roaming:( Btw, I was previously with Optus and I have never had any issues with reception. Unfortunately, you've recently canceled a few countries from your list of unlimited international calls so I can't use you anymore:( Many thanks for over the last 2 years!

Replacement SIM, even worse!
Got a replacement SIM due to the fact I couldn't receive text messages from my daughter in NZ. Now not only can I not receive SMSs from her, I can't receive texts from any other NZ contacts and now my SMS won't send. I can still call NZ. My wife is on the same plan but has no problems sending or receiving messages from NZ. Have tried my wife's SIM IN my phone - still works so it's not my phone.Have tried several things recommended by the support team but to no avail. It's a shame as it's not doing what I'm paying for. Come on Belong! You can do better!

Poor coverage and customer service
I had to cancel Belong service due to poor coverage in the area I am located and informed I was transferring to Telstra. They disconnected my number (which I have had for 10 years now and was given to me by Vodafone previously) without questioning if I wanted to keep it and now I can't transfer it to Telstra. I am trying to resolve this issue for 5 days now and the last info I Had is that I lost my number. Tried to talk to someone via phone but they don't offer this option. Very upset and will contact the Telecom Industry Ombudsman.

Unable to contact support due to Covid.
Moving numbers over was easy. I love the fact that you can share your data with friends and family and save it! That is the main reason why I decide to give them a go. Unfortunately Italy has been removed from the international calls (starting end of March). Also I don’t like there is no answering machine. Would give it 5 starts if that was to happen.

24 Days to get reconnected after following all procedures laid out and now charged 14 days earlier than promised.
I lost 9 days pay due to the 24 Days to get reconnected with Belong due to the short staff of Tech's. I have also found out the Telstra Shop will not help you out with any issues with Belong as I was told at the Ballina Fair Telstra Shop. I had excellent service with the helpline employees at Belong. I did feel that they were frustrated as they could not help with the issue as much as the would have like to.
The Icing on the cake was after the connection was completed of one disconnected wire in the external street box, Belong had promised 30 days free service and money was taken out 14 days earlier than promised. Disappointed.

Belong number porting
I ported my number from a provider to Belong, it is more than a week, ten days now. Number is not activated.
Previous provider has deactivated service. Customer service is not of any help. They send automated replies to wait for another 24 hours. Worst mistake to move to Belong. I asked for call back two days ago no one has called till now.
I really wonder do they have actually real persons in customer service or all automated responses.

We got 3 mobile sims; had no trouble connecting; 2 are great BUT with the third, I cannot connect to the internet. Also Belong app not working; tells me User & password are incorrect but they are not.

Serious activation / porting issues
Signed up online and received my Belong SIM card a week ago, opting to port my existing number across to Belong. To date my service activation request and number port are yet to be completed due to technical issues on Belong end.
Because the process was taking too long and I need my number working I requested to cancel activation, only to be told that this isn't possible as the activation/port is already in progress. hich they cannot give me an ETA. It could be a day, a week, a month, or longer. I have effectively had my personal number hijacked / disabled through this process. I struggle to comprehend how a company whose core business is service activation and operation is unable to activate a service within a reasonable timeframe, and finds it acceptable for a customer to be without a service for weeks while they sort out something as fundamental as service activation. 4 days and still not connected
Had 2 sim cards sent out to swap my teenage daughters on to. First one wouldn't activate even though pretty much the first thing you have to do is pay them money. 2nd one did after many hours and repeated "oops something went wrong" errors on both the Belong app and website - and they charged me more!!!. Only way to get support is to put in a support request to which you are told could take up to 24 hrs for a response. Belong sends you an email to tell you that there's a message/reply on their app ... then you try to log on and it won't work ha...Read more
lf the time. So once your existing phone number is "ported" across from previous company you can no longer make or receive calls. 4 days later and this 2nd sim still won't connect to the network. Their solution is to try sim in another phone (didn't work) and message back (original phone iphone 6S and 2nd phone samsung S7 - so no weird phones etc). I keep asking for someone to call me rather than this super slow version of communication .... no they(different name each time) keep emailing to notify me of a message! So for 4 days now my daughter can't make or receive calls making her very vulnerable should she be in trouble. On the flip side my wife and I took a chance on Woolworths Mobile - received our new Samsung s20's - 3 days earlier than the quoted shipping date, and porting / activating was seamless and easy. Clear instructions and even a support phone number if I needed help (which I didn't). Maybe couldn't make a call for no more than 1 hr. Think I'll cut belong off and go on a basic plan with Woolies for my daughters.2 comments

Incredibly bad customer service, takes over 11 phones calls to have any actions confirmed - Looking forward to changing to a new plan with better service.

Reliable but very very disappointed customer...
My husband and I have been with Belong for about 2 years now. We both loved the service just as reliable as Telstra and we are very happy with the international inclusion however the country that I myself occassionally call and text is going to be taken out from the list. Hmmn very very very disappointed. I had introduced 3 people to Belong. Now, we are going to move to another telco company that offer included unlimited call to the Philippines, others offered 300 min of calls which plenty for me.
I must say goodbye Belong for your service that I have truly been satisfied however I have no choice but move to another telco that give me the service that once I have enjoyed from BELONG.

Be prepared to lay aside 5 or 6 hours.
So I joined up with belong today and knew that swapping telcos was going to bring the usual time wasting exercise it brings. So I had the SIM and created an account. Four hours later I was actually a belong subscriber, too good to be true you ask, exactly. So I try to log into my account and I get a message, incorrect user name or password, this is straight after signing up with belong using my email and creating a password. So four hours of messages backwards and forwards with multiple different passwords tried belong send me a link to open for support. You know where the link takes me, yeah you guessed it, to my home page to log in with my user name and password so that I can ask for support.

International calls
I have been with Belong mobile for some time and have never had any problems. There have been no dropouts, data speed was fantastic. I have never once needed to ring up for any glitches. However, I am disappointed as they are changing a few of their international calling countries. Why are telcos always changing this? Is there other alternatives around this.

It's just that as the costs of calls to some countries increased, we had to adjust the list to be able to keep offering the same coverage and plan prices we do at the moment. Fingers crossed we can get them re-added in the future :) -LexiThanks for the prompt response and the amazing service.

Hi. I can't answer. My message was that the sim can't be activated, try another. Have had lots of messages with Support who say wait for the email saying to insert the sim. No message yet. Over 3 days (admittedly over weekens but still..)

Have you tried your SIM in another phone? If it works in another device, it could mean that your phone hasn't been unlocked by your previous carrier or the network settings need to be reset. Check with your original provider that they've unlocked your phone, keeping in mind that there can sometimes be a fee associated with this. You can reset the network settings under the 'General Settings' of your device or by referring to the user manual.

I switched to Belong mobile about a week ago. I signed up for an account and was able to port my number, and was very pleased that it was so fast to connect. However, I have not been able to sign in to my account via the app or online and I’ve tried to do so on a few different devices. I keep getting the message Http unsuccessful. When I try to lodge a support request, I get the same message

Hi, I am currently using Pennytel which is owned by Mynetfone for my mobile service. I want to switch over to Belong, however in the setup process there is no option to choose Pennytel/Mynetphone as a provider for porting the number. Hence I am unable to port my number to Belong. Can someone please assist with the porting of my service.
