was long customer now disapointed

Keep Trying
We got 3 mobile sims; had no trouble connecting; 2 are great BUT with the third, I cannot connect to the internet. Also Belong app not working; tells me User & password are incorrect but they are not.

Serious activation / porting issues
Signed up online and received my Belong SIM card a week ago, opting to port my existing number across to Belong. To date my service activation request and number port are yet to be completed due to technical issues on Belong end.
Because the process was taking too long and I need my number working I requested to cancel activation, only to be told that this isn't possible as the activation/port is already in progress. hich they cannot give me an ETA. It could be a day, a week, a month, or longer. I have effectively had my personal number hijacked / disabled through this process. I struggle to comprehend how a company whose core business is service activation and operation is unable to activate a service within a reasonable timeframe, and finds it acceptable for a customer to be without a service for weeks while they sort out something as fundamental as service activation. 4 days and still not connected
Had 2 sim cards sent out to swap my teenage daughters on to. First one wouldn't activate even though pretty much the first thing you have to do is pay them money. 2nd one did after many hours and repeated "oops something went wrong" errors on both the Belong app and website - and they charged me more!!!. Only way to get support is to put in a support request to which you are told could take up to 24 hrs for a response. Belong sends you an email to tell you that there's a message/reply on their app ... then you try to log on and it won't work ha...Read more
lf the time. So once your existing phone number is "ported" across from previous company you can no longer make or receive calls. 4 days later and this 2nd sim still won't connect to the network. Their solution is to try sim in another phone (didn't work) and message back (original phone iphone 6S and 2nd phone samsung S7 - so no weird phones etc). I keep asking for someone to call me rather than this super slow version of communication .... no they(different name each time) keep emailing to notify me of a message! So for 4 days now my daughter can't make or receive calls making her very vulnerable should she be in trouble. On the flip side my wife and I took a chance on Woolworths Mobile - received our new Samsung s20's - 3 days earlier than the quoted shipping date, and porting / activating was seamless and easy. Clear instructions and even a support phone number if I needed help (which I didn't). Maybe couldn't make a call for no more than 1 hr. Think I'll cut belong off and go on a basic plan with Woolies for my daughters.2 comments

Low network coverage. Drops out regularly.
Incredibly bad customer service, takes over 11 phones calls to have any actions confirmed - Looking forward to changing to a new plan with better service.

Reliable but very very disappointed customer...
My husband and I have been with Belong for about 2 years now. We both loved the service just as reliable as Telstra and we are very happy with the international inclusion however the country that I myself occassionally call and text is going to be taken out from the list. Hmmn very very very disappointed. I had introduced 3 people to Belong. Now, we are going to move to another telco company that offer included unlimited call to the Philippines, others offered 300 min of calls which plenty for me.
I must say goodbye Belong for your service that I have truly been satisfied however I have no choice but move to another telco that give me the service that once I have enjoyed from BELONG.

Be prepared to lay aside 5 or 6 hours.
So I joined up with belong today and knew that swapping telcos was going to bring the usual time wasting exercise it brings. So I had the SIM and created an account. Four hours later I was actually a belong subscriber, too good to be true you ask, exactly. So I try to log into my account and I get a message, incorrect user name or password, this is straight after signing up with belong using my email and creating a password. So four hours of messages backwards and forwards with multiple different passwords tried belong send me a link to open for support. You know where the link takes me, yeah you guessed it, to my home page to log in with my user name and password so that I can ask for support.

International calls
I have been with Belong mobile for some time and have never had any problems. There have been no dropouts, data speed was fantastic. I have never once needed to ring up for any glitches. However, I am disappointed as they are changing a few of their international calling countries. Why are telcos always changing this? Is there other alternatives around this.

It's just that as the costs of calls to some countries increased, we had to adjust the list to be able to keep offering the same coverage and plan prices we do at the moment. Fingers crossed we can get them re-added in the future :) -LexiThanks for the prompt response and the amazing service.

First of all you don’t deserve a star at all. Switched providers 2 days ago still no connection, disconnected from previous supplier. Have spent many hours on phone and chat asking when will I be active, keep transferring from one department to another telling you he same history only to be cut off numerous time so frustrating. Also money taken out of my account for service not provided.No one will give you an answer. No happy don’t do it stay with your current provider. I wish I had read all these feedback and would have definitely not have changed not worth it.

Average customer service and poor network
Both mobile and internet connections drop in tunnels. Usually I did not get this type issue before.
There is no option to see customised call history which is very common with other service providers. Very difficult to talk to customers people.
Very good option and he only reason I use belong is to call to Overseas at cheap rate. This is very good service.

Charged Twice for Mobile Account
I was charged twice for my Belong mobile account and have sent an email with the proof ( screenshot of Bank statement ) to Belong.
Took weeks of playing phone ping pong with the complaints department and finally when i spoke to the guy, he wanted to get a ridiculous amount of supporting documents just to justify an investigation.
I sent you the transaction details ! That clearly shows the recipient is BELONG! How incompetent do you have to be to process a small refund ???!!!
I have a second mobile account with Belong and not to mention i have been a Belong Broadband customer for over 5 years.
I will look for another telco to give business to because sadly, Belong is just downright hopeless!

Dishonest and bad customers service
I wanted to change mobile service to optus from belong so I requested to stop service just before expire date but they didn't cancel it and charged me another month.....I am already with optus and belong company charged me for whole month for not using it.
Try to contact customer service but no help and they just took my money for nothing....

Great so far
The SIM card arrived quickly, the packaging was great -- even included one of those little SIM card ejecting gadgets which was super handy. Ported my old number from Optus at about 11pm and it was working by 5am the next morning. So far so good. Everything works a treat, and reception is heaps better. The app leaves a bit to be desired, feels slow and seems to take an eternity to load anything, but all in all, seems good so far. The only thing that might make it better would be if Spotify wasn't included in the data usage.

Do not even think about purchasing a prepaid SIM
If you are reading this review and considering buying a Belong prepaid SIM please walk out of the shop now and save yourself the time and energy you are about to waste on days of requesting support and action. I purchased from JB HIFI and think they also need to reconsider promoting. Absolutely useless and disgusting that this company can continue to sell its product !!!!

Totally incompetent
I deeply regret trying to sign up with Belong. I really should have taken all these negative comments here more seriously.
So far I haven't been able to use my phone for a whole 8 days, and I have no idea how many more days I will have to wait before Belong fixes the number porting issue. Will I ever get my phone number back? It is a nightmare.
I have never received satisfying support through Support Request. And the same for phone operators. They seriously do not care.

Wouldn’t recommend it
Brought a SIM to go with a watch for a present. The guy from wolf set it all up for us and told us the belong would send us notification when it was activated. Get an email saying it’s failed due to an outage and will be fixed, two days later we are still waiting stuck with a useless SIM that most company’s would have up and running in seconds to an hour tops. Can’t give the present because it’s doesn’t would with out the SIM. Great way to start a service. Will most likely cancel and go else where, even if we have to pay more! Communication on support requests are really poor also. Don’t even think that your going to talk to a real person.

Worst service EVER!!
Switched to Belong for a cheap plan for a teen. The first sim didn't work (after porting our number, so can't use the old network - now without a phone). Took 2 days of "please supply further information" to convince them to send out a new SIM. 3 days later it arrives, and Their app tells me "This sim cannot be activated. Please try again with a different SIM or order a new one".
This WAS the new one! It just took me over half an hour to get the app and website even open. Now still without phone service.

Terrible
Terrible customer service. Have been trying to connect a SIM card for 6 days now. A monthly payment has already been taken from our account yet we can't use the service we have paid for. Have lodged a support request online and asking for an update daily and get basically the same response - there has been an issue in activating the SIM and they are working on it. hopeless
BELONG have some cheap programmes, but not very cheap when they do not work. I bought a sim only package, which worked for a few days, then it stopped, I have sent many support requests, which are answered promptly, but nothing happens, they are very polite but do nothing, you cannot speak to anyone, can`t find out if they care, this has been going for a week now with no signs of a result. How do they stay in business, surely Telstra must take control.

Hey, I'm paying for 30Mb/s with an average of 25Mb/s in evenings.... How come I'm getting less than about 7 and often as low as 1.6Mb/s? Why don't you have some way available to me to make a complaint? Your phone line is unattended because of the Corona virus? Slow speeds are the worst but we can definitely get them fixed up for you :)
Follow the steps below to get in touch with our technical support team who will give you a hand;
