Poor Battery Life

published

The first battery failed after 9 months; wouldn’t hold a charge. The replacement has failed after 15 months. I'm not even going to spend the energy to try to get it replaced again. Very disappointed. It’s an otherwise good product; it got the light vacuuming job done. Light and easy to use.

battery wont charge

published

This looked to be a good product but after 12 months the battery just stopped working. It just keeps flashing, no charge at all. This is a very poor product. I should have read these reviews. A large addition to the landfill sights for 20 or 25 vacuums. This is outrageous.

Will not charge, 2nd one as well as 1st.

published

First went within the 12 month period, wouldn't hold charge. Had a replacement sent and the same thing happened.
Biggest waste of money ever.
Warranty was not covered for the 2nd as it continued from date of purchase of the 1st.
Never buy from them again.
Shocking customer service.
Bulk manufactured crap.

Ok but not worth it.

This vacuum has great suction light weight BUT the wheels continually fall off. At first it was fine but after 1 month neither wheels stay on its quite frustrating. The filter blocks easily so whilst it has a large canister you have to empty regularly because of the filter. Wouldn't buy again.

Battery is rubbish

published

If you cannot charge battery then is will not suction .....So this vacuum really sucks!
A couple of weeks after purchasing battery was not charging at all. I should have read these reviews prior to buying this piece of crap. I will definitely not buy another Bissell product ever again.

POOR PRODUCT!!!

published

I bought a Bissell Bolt and 18 months after, it no longer was able to charge. Thankfully I was able to have a replacement under warranty. The replacement model was the Bolt Max Professional but after 6 months of occasional use, the battery holds power for about 20 seconds then its dead. This is very poor product performance and its obvious from the reviews that I’m not the only one. Definitely wont be purchursing a Bissell product again which is a pity as I like the features.

Batteries won't charge

published

I bought this as it had the bend in the middle so I could get under furniture. At first it was great, worked perfectly. 12 months in the battery wouldn't charge. So I contacted Bissell and they sent a new one. Woohoo I thought but no this one lasted only 6 months. By this time I was annoyed. Battery says it's full but only lasts 20 seconds then it's done. Put it back on charge and in a minute it says fully charged. I tried to get another battery out of Bissell but no go so they can go fly a broomstick. I won't be back....

just like everyone else here...

published

Just like everybody else here, my vacuum died after barely any usage at all. Im thinking of lodging a complaint with consumer affairs Victoria, see if I can get it refunded under the ACL.

To be honest, even before the vacuum stopped charging and died, i still thought it was pretty terrible. It's unwieldy and has a tiny storage so i found myself emptying it like 3-4 times a vac.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS BROKEN PRODUCT

Bad batteries

published

Bought this for quick small cleanups, has maybe 20 charge cycles in its 2 year life. Suddenly, it wont charge anymore. Turns on with full charge bar, then off in about 20 seconds. Back in charging base show charging for about 3 seconds then quits. Rinse and repeat. Looks like I'm not the only one...

This is a hand vac, with an upmarket stick

published

Got this as a gift two years ago.
Love the idea of side brushes and reverse folding feature.
However, dust bin design is poor, much poor than a Piranha handstick. In a Piranha handstick, there's a proper filter with corrugated form just like how HEPA filter is presented now a days, however in this Bissell hand vac, it's merely a simple cuplet with very thin non-woven material. Therefore I call it a hand vac.
No will not pay the RRP for this Bissell hands vac, will consider it under sub$50 category.

great looking, functional and practical. Battery/charging system, OH dear . I think you owe the people who purchased or in my case received as a gift, an exchange for a comparable unit with out these obvious short comings . Hey its out of warranty, but the chat is that your product is suffering from the same problem battery charging / power storage system . Balls in your court !

Poor product

Thought it was fantastic at first - light, manouvred really well, easy to use. Then stopped charging after about 6 months of minimal use. Red light flashes continuously, wont work for more than a few seconds amd now wont turn on at all. Expensive piece of junk in my opinion.

Really disappointed. Won't buy another Bissel product.

published

Bought this about 3 yrs ago from Good Guys. Perfect for my house that has mainly hard tile flooring. Goes into all the awkward places and battery life was fine for what I wanted. Really liked it but would never buy another and wouldn't recommend it. In three years it has gone back to the manufacturer with something broken on parts of the handles. Each time it took 3-4 weeks to return. It has now done it for a third time and it's in the bin. Far too many other competitors to bother wasting time and money. A real shame as the design and general function was just what I wanted. Shame on you Bissell for producing such rubbish!

Very little suction, even on "higher" level mode. Wasted $$$ for us, terribly disappointed.

published

Not happy with suction. Using the hand vacuum seemed even less suction.
It's light and happy with charging station which is quite unobtrusive where situated.
Three rugs, slate floors, small living area (three times a week) and 3 bedrooms (weekly, only used for guests).
Save your money and look for something better is our recommendation.

Good Battery Life and Cleans Well

published

This is my second Bissell Bolt in 2years, the first one was great, but, in the end, the wheel kept coming off, so it was replaced with a new one. This one is also very good, excellent battery life, lasts for about 45 mins doing tiles and carpet, sucks and cleans well, overall I an happy with this product.

how to clean rotating head assemly

1 answer
GLENN GOUGH
GLENN GOUGH

Hi Sam, we sold our Bolt shortly after my post but having said that there should be a slide release on the bottom or side to remove the rotating brush. It is a good machine just very heavy, not suitable for us, we replaced it with an Aldi cordless and it was $99 light with 40min run time and turbo mode, very light and effective, only downside is small dust collector but no real problem, Just empty when full also very easy to remove brush with release tab. Have a good look at your Bissel head you shouldn't have to much trouble finding the release, also check out YouTube. Hope this helps

Our Bissell Bolt Ion 18V (orange coloured Casing) makes a unhealthy rattly sound when switch on. What could be the problem, is it fixable and an approximate cost?

Motor shuts down 30 seconds into vacuuming. This is our second Bissell with same problem. Will not recommend or buy another Bissell ever. Waste of money and my time. Any recommendations on other reliable stick vacuums?

Hi, I bought the Dyson V8 on sale in Myers. Extremely good but expensive. The benefit (unlike the Bissell) is you can consumer replaceable batteries. Regards, Elizabeth
