how to clean rotating head assemly
1 answer
Hi Sam, we sold our Bolt shortly after my post but having said that there should be a slide release on the bottom or side to remove the rotating brush. It is a good machine just very heavy, not suitable for us, we replaced it with an Aldi cordless and it was $99 light with 40min run time and turbo mode, very light and effective, only downside is small dust collector but no real problem, Just empty when full also very easy to remove brush with release tab. Have a good look at your Bissel head you shouldn't have to much trouble finding the release, also check out YouTube. Hope this helps

Our Bissell Bolt Ion 18V (orange coloured Casing) makes a unhealthy rattly sound when switch on. What could be the problem, is it fixable and an approximate cost?

Motor shuts down 30 seconds into vacuuming. This is our second Bissell with same problem. Will not recommend or buy another Bissell ever. Waste of money and my time. Any recommendations on other reliable stick vacuums?

bissel are basically 100% rubbish. the battery is cheap chinese manufacture. once it goes (which is soon) you may as well throw out the lot. Bissel rely on turnover .
Agree with Andrew. I had the same problem. Bissel deliberately designs their product to be thrown out after battery expires which is very quickly.

I didn’t have any trouble with the motor. Must be a faulty switch. I suggest you contact Boswell but I found them useless.

Looking for an answer on this too, as mine is doing the exact same thing. I'll let you know if I come up with an answer after taking mine apart!
I spoke to them directly and they replaced the main part (the handheld bit, without the plastic bit on the end) ... it seems to me that the battery was dead or not holding charge .... mine was about 14 months old & so I called them, they did a few tests, I scanned & sent them the receipt & they sent me a replacement.
They have a new customer service number .... 1300247735 ... good luck!
Hi Jane and David. And anyone else who is having problems charging their Bolt Ion.
It sounds like a battery charging problem - we had the same problem with our Bolt Ion XRT. Even though the blue light was showing a full charge, the vacuum would stop working after about 5 minutes. Fortunately it was still under warranty so Bissell replaced the hand piece containing the battery.
Unfortunately it has now happened again, about 12 months later. Bissell are VERY reluctantly replacing the hand piece, even though it's only about 12 months old. Good luck.

what is battery life like barely got 2 years from dyson c35 Is 1312F much improved on 1311F as far as things breaking concerned
1 answer
The battery life has shortened a little after 18 months but still only need to charge it weekly. Can't help you with your second question I've only had the one model, and nothing's broken yet (touch wood).

I have just bought a Bissell Bolt Ion, and am curious as to what the two rubber rolls are used for? they came as accessories and the user guide doesn't mention their purpose. The book says 1311,1312 series
