Good Battery Life and Cleans Well
This is my second Bissell Bolt in 2years, the first one was great, but, in the end, the wheel kept coming off, so it was replaced with a new one. This one is also very good, excellent battery life, lasts for about 45 mins doing tiles and carpet, sucks and cleans well, overall I an happy with this product.

Great little al-rounder for general house cleaning
After plenty of research on several different brands, I chose this one - and overall happy with my choice.
I have owned it for about 9 months, and is used almost daily. The battery still holds charge well, and lasts the average time to cover our 4 bedroom house.
It balances well and feels comfortable from the hand and through the arm, and glides over hard floors with ease.
The 'elbow' that allows the main part of the unit to bend down low, along with the swivel head, is great for getting under and around the dinning table and chairs - this ...Read more
is a great feature as I have a rather bad back for my age. With the power brush, it picks up better than expected off carpet and large floor mats. It's easy to separate to empty the unit, and I like the fact that the filter can be washed clean. As with many cordless vacs, it has the break-away hand held function, which isn't really that useful. The big nose makes it not very effective to clean up a mess in a tight area, and no good for cleaning inside a vehicle. The only real let-down I feel is that it lacks in suction, and mostly relies on the power brush to flick debris up into the head.-, but it does this well. As I know with any rechargeable appliance or tool, you get what you pay for, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the most expensive is much better.

Most frustrating stick vac.,ever.
The suction is very very poor .The machine is maintained properly, canister emptied, rollers cleaned regularly.Batteries on high cleaning tiles last approx 15mins./,on carpets about 10 mins.,all up carpet area approx 40sq.,m and similar area tiles. The controls on the handle work intermittently .To get it operating to a usable state takes about 5 min of button poking .No the contacts on the handle and hand held unit are clean. and make contact .This machine is not a reflection on The Good Guy's. About the only complementary thing i can say about it is "pretty" but "pretty" does not equate to a good functional appliance .

Very poor Li-ion battery life
Bought the 25.5V Bolt Ion 1311F 2 yrs ago and had the battery/motor replaced by Bissell in less than 12 mths. Now the new replacement battery/motor which is about 12 months also wont hold a charge. Recharging unit is OK- technician checked. Seems to be very poor quality Li-ion batteries in Bissell stick vacs. ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. Cleans OK when it worked. I think I'll stick with AC powered units.

Design flaw
When we first bought this we thought it was great. Really good suction for a stick vac on our wood and carpet floors. Then the handle broke in two, right where it joins with the main body. When I had a look at the break, I saw that the plastic there was very thin - it seemed it was a question of when it would break, not if. The Good Guys arranged for us to get a new Bolt as the break could not be repaired. Had our new vac a few months now, and guess what, the handle has snapped in two again! Definitely a design flaw. Vac out of warranty so we'll be looking for a new stick vac and it won't be a Bissell Bolt.

Don't buy
The handle split in half twice despite replacing the vacuum cleaner. I was using it normally and the handle just broke. So disappointed that I ultimately returned the product to buy another brand of cordless vac. The people at good guys were understanding and luckily I had insurance for the product to enable return.

Suction great but.
Bought March 2015. Loved it for over a year then the foot assembly had to be replaced, then the handle broke and the canister kept separating. Bissell replaced the parts under warranty, however the new model canister doesn't have anywhere to recharge now without the stand. It can only be recharged on the stand. I purchased this cleaner to take in our caravan without having to take the recharging stand. Cant do this now.

OKAY BUT
Bought December 2014, handle broke after 2 weeks, so Bissell replaced that part. Same part began to break again so my husband braced (reinforced) the handle. No problem since, but now roller and edgereach won't work. Oh well, can't say it was to bad after making some adjustments, till now, after 3 years of careful use. Informed Bissell back then of the fault with the handle that it had a weak point.

design flaw
Cannister will not attach to the handle after emptying. Must use a tiny screwdriver to snap the canister into place. The word pet should be removed from the name of the product. I have three dogs. The air-intake inside the cannister becomes clogged with hair and does not allow the canister to fill up. I would not recommedn this product as advertised...

Love it! My floors are ALWAYS clean.
Every now and then you make a purchase and wonder "why didn't I buy that years ago"... This is one of those purchases.
I was expecting a stick vacuum cleaner to have poor suction and limited battery life so never bothered with them but then a friend recommended this.
It’s so easy to maneuver and gets into every little corner. The suction is much better than I expected and it only needs to be charged about once a week (if that).
It hides away nicely beside my fridge and gets used daily, at the least a quick whip around the kitchen (I’m a mess...Read more

Very happy with our purchase
Positives: We bought this vacuum 6 months ago and it's still going strong. We are using it pretty regularly all over the house (hardwood, rugs and tiles) and only rarely get out our standard vacuum any more. Whilst we keep it on the charger stand, we don't leave the charger turned on until it actually runs out of battery, so we are getting pretty good battery life so far (haven't noticed any reduction in battery life at all). I really like the foldable handle to be able to get under our coffee table and beds easily. One of the main reasons we p...Read more
urchased it was to clean up after the kids eg popcorn and crumbs, which it seems to handle easily as long as the vacuum isn't too full. Having the detachable handvac is useful for small pickups too. Negatives: Cleaning the filter and vacuum can be a bit messy, especially if fluff gets stuck in the hand vacuum nozzle. Hair and other long threads can get caught around the roller too which is a bit tricky to clean off. Overall: We are very happy with this machine, and given it had a 2 year warranty which we haven't had to use yet, we feel it was a good choice over the more expensive Dyson so far.Similar opinion? I love it, but two small issues.
I think it's brilliant, and I can only think that the handles cracking etc, can come from using it too forcefully. I love that you can manouvre properly, and that the handle flexes both ways.
However - it's obvious that the attachments go on the stand as there is a little place for it - but I can't seem to get the telescopic arm to fit on it, as well as the small attachments... it may be a seniors moment, but I can't work out an order where they ALL go on. It's either the two small ones, OR the arm. Not fond of having attachments lying aroun...Read more
d in cupboards etc. I like things all in one place. If anyone can advise, please do! ( I'm begging!) Also the cutouts for the cord on the base were too tight - I almost damaged the cord, as the cutout edges were relatively sharp and wanted to go through the plastic coating on the cord. One side was wider than the other cut-outs, so I had to go with that one, will I or nill I. It was still very tight. And the extra feature rollers, one brush and one rubber - there is nowhere for them on-board, either. That's the only things I dislike so far! Other than that it's very sturdy, and a dream to use. My dyson is great, but heavier than a pig of lead. This is beautifully light, and so I vacuum more often.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Not worth the effort.
Very difficult to re-attach hand held part to the main stick after emptying it. Roller clogs and stops working. Doesn't pick up kitty litter/small rocks. Battery died and had to be replaced within 15mths. Was told I shouldn't have kept it on the Charging Stand which Lithium-ion is designed for.

HOPELESS! Waste of money – and overpriced hand vacuum
I have put this in for repair twice and the problem is still not resolved. Suction is very poor. And then it just turns itself off. I bought it from Goodguys and the staff agree I should have bought the Dyson, but of course they didn't tell me that at the time. It's basically a hand vacuum with an expensive extra long handle which breaks and the brush at the bottom refuses gets everything caught in it. SO you clean it out and it doesn't work 5 minutes later. So frustrating you can't get a refund!

Good suction bad material
I based my choice for buying this vacuum here so it seemed only fair that I provided this same site with my experience.
The suction of this vacuum is really good and I was really satisfied with it until the material started breaking. I had two heads replaced and one Handle & Body Assembly and even this one is broken again. All this in less then a year and I am extremely careful with it. So if you have pets and intend to use it regularly I wouldn't by this model!
I also must say that the costumer service has always been exceptional! Too bad t...Read more

Fantastic machine.
I hated vacuuming before. Now it is no longer a chore. What a great machine. Charges fully in only 4 hours. Great suction, easy to maneuver and has everything I need. Love the little brushes out the side to clean right up to the edge. Rollers on or off, adjustable suction. The stick will collapse down so that you can go under furniture. Also you don't have to hold down the button to keep the machine running like on some other brands. Can't fault it.

Handle Design Flaw!
Purchased Dec 2015, broken 3 months later.... Overall performance with the suction and running time is absolutely fantastic, however, after a while the handle seems to first start to creak then weaken, then crack/split as the structure of the handle that bares most of the weight and force is not designed to be strong enough.
I do respect that Bissell is aware of this flaw and if you contact them, provide photo evidence of the breakage and your original receipt, they will send you a new handle.
If only it didn't break so easily I would give it 5 stars.

Easy to broken
I bought this vacuum two months ago and it's easy to broken the handle folder area.
When I bought it, the good guy at Cockburn Central seller, if I pay a concise for $55, I can cover everything and 3 years warranty so that's why I pay that the extra money but now they said different.
It wouldn't cover my faulty and have to pay extra cost.
It's ridiculous customer services and the vacuum also isn't good.
I have to wait until they repair it and to pay extra money.
It's not good for customer and I can let my friends know about this product.
Don't buy this product.

Bissell Bolt ION XRT
I was looking for a lightweight cleaner and purchased the Bissell Bolt ION XRT. Since owning the product it has been returned once for repair as the main arm broke and now the wheel keeps falling off. To be honest the suction power is not that great either. If you are looking for something convenient, light and easy to use with quality suction power this machine doesn't meet the mark.

how to clean rotating head assemly
1 answer
Hi Sam, we sold our Bolt shortly after my post but having said that there should be a slide release on the bottom or side to remove the rotating brush. It is a good machine just very heavy, not suitable for us, we replaced it with an Aldi cordless and it was $99 light with 40min run time and turbo mode, very light and effective, only downside is small dust collector but no real problem, Just empty when full also very easy to remove brush with release tab. Have a good look at your Bissel head you shouldn't have to much trouble finding the release, also check out YouTube. Hope this helps

Motor shuts down 30 seconds into vacuuming. This is our second Bissell with same problem. Will not recommend or buy another Bissell ever. Waste of money and my time. Any recommendations on other reliable stick vacuums?

I had good feedback from Goodguys.
They said don't need to pay any extra money and they repaired for free.
I am happy with that.
Just letting you know.
