Don't buy a bosch

published

I have had my machine under 6 months and wash for myself and 2 little boys so it is certainly not overused.I have had a bosch before and no issues with the door seal. This time the seal has ripped from the inside out .Nothing was caught in my machine and a nightie and a childs t shirt was in for a quick cycle.A technician came out and couldn't see how it was caused.Bosch however won't replace this seal stating it is fair wear and tear. One would expect it to last long and wear better then 3 washes a week and the machine being under 6 months old .this averaging out 72 washes in its life and it breaks.GET your act together Bosch this is pathetic

Have you spoken to Bosch for troubleshooting?
The VarioSoft drum that this model uses has been in production for many years and is known for being gentle on clothes so the results you are having are not normal.

Not impressed!

published

For a relatively expensive washer, this machine has been nothing but trouble. When it works, it is lovely and quiet and does a good job. Bosch service centre takes over 45 minutes to answer their phones, or 10 days to answer an email request for service. And so far we have waited over 3 weeks for parts. Not impressed.
Quiet operation.
Unreliable. Very poor warranty service.

Never buy a Bosch front loader washing machine or a Bosch dryer

published

I have had nothing but constant trouble from my Bosch appliances. I would never recommend them. My front loader washing machine has been nothing but a source of trouble. It's latest problem after having its drum replaced!!!!!!!, was blowing out its element and destroying its seal. I don't even want to mention the issues I have had with my drying machine. It does not dry small loads of washing no matter what setting you place it on. It seems to love its anti-crease end cycle!!!!
I will be delighted when both appliances are removed from my home and I can replace them with Fisher and Paykel

Thanks for this review Anthony, have had my eye on this model for sometime now. Will more than likely upgrade our 6 year old 6.5kg Bosch mid 2014. Brushless motor is a huge selling point in my opinion.

Program details

After returning to Bosch because of reliability, and lots of research and comparisons, I'm disappointed to find that the maximum load size for most of the programs is 3.5 kg or under. I made my purchase on the basis of it being an 8 kg machine. It was only once I had paid for it, it had been delivered, unpacked, installed and I went to use it that I found out that is only an 8kg machine if I want to run the cottons program which takes such a long time! This should be made clearer for purchasers in the information provided before purchase. I would not have purchased this machine had I realised this.
Reliability
Only Cotton/Allergy plus) are 8 kg and take a minimum of 2.5 hrs. If the speed option is used, even this reduces to 5kg.

No "Fluffing up clothes"!!

published

Have just purchased this model after my old Bosch "died" - after good and faithful service!!! Disappointed that this model does not have the "fluff up" clothes feature at the end of a cycle - seem to have to "peel" clothes off the drum. Also find the 8kg size great for bath sheets.

Very disappointed in towel washing

published

I have tried various different cycles and spin speeds for my towels. The instruction manual does not mention towels but I presume that the cotton cycle should be used. When the towels come out of the machine the pile is all squashed and if I dry them on the line they are like sheets of cardboard. Does anyone have any tips on how to get a better result?

Use a lower spin speed - the 1600rpm spin will remove the most moisture but will "squash" the pile. Another alternative is to pop them in the dryer before they are completely dry and this will fluff them up!

Try using less washing detergent as you shouldnt need as much with a front loader. Also give towels a good shake before hanging

Good review, I totally agree best to buy the German made Bosch only. Ask and double check before purchasing that its made in Germany.

Awesome machine -

An extremely quiet and efficient machine. The many different options make this a great choice for Mums. There is even a super quick 15min wash, and it is very good too. Great if you need something like baby bed linen done quickly. I cannot fault this machine and have had it for about one month now. It was not our first choice, we were keen on the Siemens but were told they come from the same factory.
Would recommend this machine to anyone, even visitors we had staying said what a great machine it was. And when they do their testing for the star rating they use the worst possible scenario so you get a very clear understanding of what it will be like.
Washing options, very energy efficient, very quiet and looks wonderful

Do you have any problem with the machine refusing to spin?

How do you find it for towels? Mine come out with the pile all squashed and if I line-dry them they end up like cardboard.

WAY32540AU

hi. just like to know why our newly bought and installed waw28460au connected only to the cold tap please?

Bosch moved to cold water inlet only in their models Aquascure water inlets years ago. The manual confirms this. They use the heating element in the washing machine to precisely heat the water to the required temperature, as the hot water inlets are variable in temperature and often take a while to heat up.

HomeProfessional WAY32891AU

Hi, I purchased the WAY32891AU from Appliance Online about a month ago and was checking the manual to see how I can access the additional programs.
On closer inspection I noticed the image on the website shows a ‘Towel’ program on the main dial under Shirts.

My machine does not have Towel feature at all on the main dial or under the Additional Programs.

Also, looking at the manual I don’t have the following programs: Lingerie, Kidswear, Outdoor, Down Wear, Outdoor/Waterproofing and Sportswear.

I called Appliance Online and they were confused about the image showing something different to what’s on the actual machine.

Hopefully I haven’t purchased a older model.

Regards,

Jess

Hi, The Towel program is on page 34 of the manual. You select it on the dial using Additional Programs and then scrolling through on the menus to find it (see page 27 of the manual)
