Don't waste your money on Bosch
This machine has been nothing but trouble since day one. First the door seal split when it was less than a month old. Bosch wouldn't cover this under their warranty because it wasn't wear and tear but supposedly my fault for dragging the clothes out when i should have been lifting them without touching the rubber. The only reason we didn't end up paying for the new seal was because my dad threatened to take his business account to a new supplier.
Several months down the track we noticed black oily stains on our light coloured clothing. At fir...Read more

Super Quiet and vibration free!
I'm very happy with this washing machine so far. Made in Germany. It is whisper quiet and easy to use. I just hope to never have a problem with it as Bosch Service Australia have a big problem and will muck you about. Experience from my Bosch Dryer which was replaced after a negative review on this site. Happy to say it was sorted quickly after that which gave me the confidence to buy their washer. Anyhow this washer is vibration free even at 1600rpm and whisper quiet while doing it. (Our old machine shaked all the windows and floor at 1100rpm,...Read more
it was like having a massage chair going while watching TV). It's very easy to use and I love the control layout with the red led back lights and control knob. The load weigh is a handy feature which recommends how much detergent to use. I find we are using at least 20% less now. I also like the auto off feature which will turn off the machine after it finishes. So to sum up its a modern marvel packed with modern thinking and design. I just hope that I never have to call for a service as they are only contractors not Bosch. Heaps of room for improvement here Bosch! I would love to see Bosch people repairing my Bosch machines. Don't buy a bosch
I have had my machine under 6 months and wash for myself and 2 little boys so it is certainly not overused.I have had a bosch before and no issues with the door seal. This time the seal has ripped from the inside out .Nothing was caught in my machine and a nightie and a childs t shirt was in for a quick cycle.A technician came out and couldn't see how it was caused.Bosch however won't replace this seal stating it is fair wear and tear. One would expect it to last long and wear better then 3 washes a week and the machine being under 6 months old .this averaging out 72 washes in its life and it breaks.GET your act together Bosch this is pathetic

German engineering at its best
My girlfriend bought this machine and the 7kg heat pump dryer to match. I couldn't at first justify the large financial outlay. But over the past few months ive eaten my words. This thing makes washing so easy! Select a program, close the door push start and walk away. I went from not doing much washing at all, to doing all of it. Firstly, it is so quiet. even at 1600 rpm you may hear a slight humm from the next room. When you load the machine it weighs your clothes as you go so you know how much you can put in for that particular cycle, doesen...Read more
t sound like much but you will be amazed at how much you can put in (and not compromise the result) I'm sure most people 'under load' their machines. In hindsight I definatly did. There are so many programs to choose from, and I can't stress enough to utilise them. Why pay for them if you won't use them? In saying that the automatic program is pretty good for nearly everything. It will even add more detergent if it detects your clothes are really dirty and extend the washing time. On the flip side, if they are clean it will do the opposite. Also the towels program is a winner, even after being spun they somehow come out fluffy (in comparison to the cotton program) also the cycles seem much quicker then our 2 year old panasonic was. Which at the time was one of the faster machines you could buy. At first I thought the automatic dosing was a cool gimmick and the next level in laziness. but it has saved so much detergent and softner and the clothes come out cleaner and fresher. Bosch claim and i believe them, that the IDOS system saves over 7000 litres of water because it doesent need to get the extra detergent out with multiple rinses... Tip! use half what the bottle recomends. I was sceptical at first but tried it and clothes come out clean still. And call me crazy but omo are trying to sell omo, right? There are stain removal programs, from dirty socks (that one is awesome) to red wine. But honestly it does such a good job on the regular cycles we only have used it once or twice. They do take a while, up to 4 hours on some programs. But I guess you don't have to pre treat, soak etc. You just chuck it in go about your day or night and come back to clean gear. Delay start comes in to its own there, because its so quiet it won't wake you I'f you put it on overnight. Feature packed is an understatement, this thing is pretty clever. Another tip, get the monster surge cube that the harvey norman sales people try to sell you for this thing. Its basically a computer and for 30 bucks it stops surges and 'cleans' the power supply. I looked in to it after we bought thinking it was a waste of money. But independent reviewers say your a fool if u don't have these. I went and bought one for every major appliance we have. I recommend if you want a quality washer you don't need to look anymore, its very expensive but worth every cent......... End of review and message for Bosch.........what is the go with your customer service in Australia. I have never had a problem with one of your products and from what Everyone is saying I'm glad I havent. Why are you shooting your self in the foot? You make an exceptional product but don't have the service to back it up. you have a legal obligation to back up the product you manufactor. To repair, replace or refund in the case of a major failure and in a timely manner, Why not just do the right thing by these people that are having problems and be helpful. Because your brand is really taking a hit and its like you have your head buried in the sand.... I know the above statement is out of place with my review. Its just dissapointing to see what people are saying. efficient, gentle on clothes, clean first time every time, program options, design, build quality, fast washing times on normal cycles. nothing except bosch warranty is a concern.Similar opinion? Very disappointed, just want to take it back
I have been very disappointed as it makes all clothes pill heaps and faded. Clothes now look so worn out and I have only had the machine for 2 months. My 14 year old Hoover 5kg top loader was gentler on the clothes. Plus the spin at 1200rpm does not get the clothes any drier either. I also have it set to the dosage as recommended on washing liquid but it still foams up and sheets and towels could wash for up the three hours trying to get the foam out of them. Not impressed!
For a relatively expensive washer, this machine has been nothing but trouble. When it works, it is lovely and quiet and does a good job. Bosch service centre takes over 45 minutes to answer their phones, or 10 days to answer an email request for service. And so far we have waited over 3 weeks for parts. Not impressed.
Quiet operation.
Unreliable. Very poor warranty service.

Never buy a Bosch front loader washing machine or a Bosch dryer
I have had nothing but constant trouble from my Bosch appliances. I would never recommend them. My front loader washing machine has been nothing but a source of trouble. It's latest problem after having its drum replaced!!!!!!!, was blowing out its element and destroying its seal. I don't even want to mention the issues I have had with my drying machine. It does not dry small loads of washing no matter what setting you place it on. It seems to love its anti-crease end cycle!!!!
I will be delighted when both appliances are removed from my home and I can replace them with Fisher and Paykel

8kg?
Fantastic quality and ease of operation. Great to have the machine weigh the load for you and recommend the correct amount of detergent to use for the load. I bought the Bosch as I wanted a good reliable machine with great water saving. I am disappointed in the fact that only the cotton and allergy plus cycles hold 8kg, all other cycles you can only wash 2kg - 3.5kg. I found out that to wash towels you either wash no more than 2 at a time or else use the cotton cycle. I would have preferred to have known this before committing to such an expen...Read more

With regard to the different size loads for the various cycles, careful research has gone into each cycle on each of our machines, and we have found that the different weights of fabrics have different requirements. Some fabrics require more water in their wash and some require more space. The different load sizes reflect the optimum weight for the fabric type and the wash cycle reflected. Failure to follow these guidelines can lead to unsatisfactory results in your wash. Worth the investment!
We bought our machine in May 2013 after our previous Bosch front loader of 11 1/2 years finally "gave up the ghost", and I am amazed to say that I not only enjoy washing much more now, but it has given me renewed vigour to wash clothes for my family of six. :)
Initially I was shocked at how quiet the machine was, even at full spin, compared to my old Bosch. I sat on the laundry floor with my toddler, mesmerised by the gentle and quiet movements of the clothes mid-wash... my laundry no longer sounded like it was about to launch off into the a...Read more
tmosphere during a spin cycle. I was also extremely happy to be able to wash woollens and delicates and not have them damaged! Hand washing is the bane of my cleaning, so this machine has become an appreciated home helper. My favourite function is the ability to fill and set the machine at bedtime so the washing is ready when I wake up, closely followed by the SpeedPerfect function to make washing faster when I forget! My children find it fun to load the machine and watch how heavy towels and blankets are, so it keeps the helpers entertained, too! Although the machine cost about $1200, I really don't count it as a "con" because I expect my machine will last me many more years to come like my previous, smaller Bosch. When you have 4 young children, a quality washing machine is a very important household tool! Thumbs up from me (and my husband who started doing washing after over a decade... yes, it's a miracle machine!). Quiet, doesn't damage woollens/delicates, beautiful on the eyes, too!1 comment

best machine so far
Great machine, best feature is probably the silent brushless motor. The large door makes life easier. Efficient - it weighs the loads and decides itself how to adjust the cycle for time/water. Set and forget until it beeps. I feel safer with the waterstop function. All clothes results have been excellent. Glad to have changed to Bosch from Miele as now I realise how good the Bosch is. o Miele put on their machines is misleading as it appears like a warranty but isn't. Why then do Miele only provide a 2 year warranty? I can tell you the red Miele service van that comes to your house is expensive. I had a W918 for over 10 years (top of the range at the time) but didn't get anywhere near 20 years use. In that time I had to replace 1) the drain pump (leak), 2) door seal (leak), 3) Inlet valve (seized), 4) door latch (wouldn't hold), 5) carbon brushes in the motor, 6) Main switch came loose/busted. 7) When the motor stopped again I'd had enough. When I asked Miele if they would credit any parts costs on a new one they said no. Brushless motor, quiet operation, low vibration for an 8kg machine.4 comments
Thanks for this review Anthony, have had my eye on this model for sometime now. Will more than likely upgrade our 6 year old 6.5kg Bosch mid 2014. Brushless motor is a huge selling point in my opinion.

Program details
After returning to Bosch because of reliability, and lots of research and comparisons, I'm disappointed to find that the maximum load size for most of the programs is 3.5 kg or under. I made my purchase on the basis of it being an 8 kg machine. It was only once I had paid for it, it had been delivered, unpacked, installed and I went to use it that I found out that is only an 8kg machine if I want to run the cottons program which takes such a long time! This should be made clearer for purchasers in the information provided before purchase. I would not have purchased this machine had I realised this.
Reliability
Only Cotton/Allergy plus) are 8 kg and take a minimum of 2.5 hrs. If the speed option is used, even this reduces to 5kg.

I am so pleased I purchased the Bosch WAY32540AU professional washing machine. It has many cycles you can use (so you dont have to wait for the 2-3 hours like the front loaders of before, you can even do a 15 minute quick cycle).

er temp, more rinsing. The only down that I have seen is the towels (some of them dry like sheets of cardboard) - but I think that is because I am not using a fabric softener, which I will get this weekend (an organic, gentle one for the chemically sensitive like me). I think the fabric softener will do the trick. It could also have something to do with the water hardness here - I think that tends to do this to towels, but am not sure.Similar opinion? Have just purchased this model after my old Bosch "died" - after good and faithful service!!! Disappointed that this model does not have the "fluff up" clothes feature at the end of a cycle - seem to have to "peel" clothes off the drum. Also find the 8kg size great for bath sheets.

Very disappointed in towel washing
I have tried various different cycles and spin speeds for my towels. The instruction manual does not mention towels but I presume that the cotton cycle should be used. When the towels come out of the machine the pile is all squashed and if I dry them on the line they are like sheets of cardboard. Does anyone have any tips on how to get a better result?

Use a lower spin speed - the 1600rpm spin will remove the most moisture but will "squash" the pile. Another alternative is to pop them in the dryer before they are completely dry and this will fluff them up!
Try using less washing detergent as you shouldnt need as much with a front loader. Also give towels a good shake before hanging

rt + labour! Problem as well is overall wear and tear factor, and how long will machine last even if I do buy circuit board. Yes, we have a big family, and I am sure our demands are twice as much as other families. On a positive note, during the time I had this machine, I have absolutely loved it; and attest its solidness; and sense of good quality features. I would thus though recommend to anyone, to regardless invest in the best warranty at time of purchase that they can. It seems this is how business is now done, 'an extended warranty'! (because if per chance something fails in these otherwise high tech washing machines, parts can be quite expensive). I take the view that no brand either is necessarily immune from failure, no matter how well built. Bosch no longer make a 10kg machine! Looking around, nearest domestic competitors as LG or Samsung just don't inspire me - feels like going backwards. Am thinking instead of investigating a commercial washing machine.Similar opinion? only uses 57 litres of water a wash, which is incredible. The results of the wash are also fantastic, we have never had our clothes smelling and looking so clean. This model also has a child lock, which has come in extremely handy, as the little one keeps going into the laundry and pressing buttons and turning the dial, and unlike our last machine, it doesn't affect the cycle at all. We looked at Miele, but frankly they are over priced for what they are. We couldn't be happier with our purchase. I would recommend this machine to anyone and everyone. One word of warning, don't get sucked in by the cheap model Bosch machines, they are made in China and are not anywhere near the same quality. This is the same for many brands (Makita and Bosch make a Bunnings range that is cheaper and far lower quality), sales people will love to tell you "oh yes but it is designed in Germany to Bosch specs etc. etc." but the parts used are different and lower quality. An extremely quiet and efficient machine. The many different options make this a great choice for Mums. There is even a super quick 15min wash, and it is very good too. Great if you need something like baby bed linen done quickly. I cannot fault this machine and have had it for about one month now. It was not our first choice, we were keen on the Siemens but were told they come from the same factory.
Would recommend this machine to anyone, even visitors we had staying said what a great machine it was. And when they do their testing for the star rating they use the worst possible scenario so you get a very clear understanding of what it will be like.
Washing options, very energy efficient, very quiet and looks wonderful

hi. just like to know why our newly bought and installed waw28460au connected only to the cold tap please?

Bosch moved to cold water inlet only in their models Aquascure water inlets years ago. The manual confirms this. They use the heating element in the washing machine to precisely heat the water to the required temperature, as the hot water inlets are variable in temperature and often take a while to heat up.
Thank you heaps!

Hi, I purchased the WAY32891AU from Appliance Online about a month ago and was checking the manual to see how I can access the additional programs.
On closer inspection I noticed the image on the website shows a ‘Towel’ program on the main dial under Shirts.
My machine does not have Towel feature at all on the main dial or under the Additional Programs.
Also, looking at the manual I don’t have the following programs: Lingerie, Kidswear, Outdoor, Down Wear, Outdoor/Waterproofing and Sportswear.
I called Appliance Online and they were confused about the image showing something different to what’s on the actual machine.
Hopefully I haven’t purchased a older model.
