I purchased this late January 2015 with extra 3 year warranty,, I had to call for a service as it was leaking, the rubber rim had a tear in. According to Bosch and I was told this applies to all front loaders, this part is not covered by the warranty why? Because when taking the clothes out of the machine you drag the clothes out and this is what causes the tear. We were never told of this when looking at front loader washing machines.
Furthermore they are aware of this, should they not put a better quality seal in their machine to prevent this.
Has anyone out there had a similar issue with their front loader? I would appreciate your response

8.5KG CAPCITY? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING! FALSE ADVERTISING, WHAT A CON!
A few weeks ago we bought a new washing machine from Bosch. We own a small lodge/B & B and have very specific requirements. As we have not previously had a Bosch washing machine before or a front loader, I took the precaution of ringing up the Bosch Customer Service number and asking their advice. I explained that we have a busy B & B and if we have all rooms checking out then we can have 7-9 loads to be washed a day. Each room has 2 loads of washing plus their is our washing and general household laundry. Often we also have douvre and bed...Read more
spreads to wash which are bulky items and our beds are all super king so all the linen very large. I specifically said that I wanted a machine that held at least 8.5kg. The woman was very helpful I thought at the time and directed me to the BOSCH WASHING MACHINE WAY32790AU . Bosch do not sell their items directly to the public, so I went through Harvey Norman Commercial. I once again told my story to the salesman on the phone and he ordered me the machine I had been recommended. At no stage did anyone suggest this was not an appropriate machine for the amount of washing I have to do. The machine arrived and was dumped in my laundry, not unpacked, not installed. This was a first for me as all the machine I have purchased in the past have both been unwrapped and installed. So as it is an extremely busy time of year, it sat around for several days waiting for time for us to install it and read the screeds of information about. So we started using it. Very quickly it became apparent that the machine doesn't do anything like 8.5kg, in fact I don't think it would even hold that amount. It always flashed full at either 5kg or less. Many of the cycles are 4 or 3 kg. It has a tiny capacity. It wouldn't even be suitable for a normal family. What is worse is that the towel cycle lasts 2 - 3 hours!!! depending on the number of towels that do into it and they come out over spun and like stiff cardboard. We have lots of sunshine in the Bay of Plenty where we live so only use the dryer occasionally. However the only way we can make our towels nice and fluffy for guests is to put them in the dryer. They are brand new towels this year and very good quality so I don't want to have them constantly in the dryer not to mention the unnecessary cost of doing so. Last week after trying to get hold of the National Sales Manager at Bosch I finally got hold of him and firstly he wasn't able to tell me with out going down and trying a machine about how I could get 8.5kg. After some discussion, he conceded that the information I had been given was misleading and that he agreed the machine was not fit for purpose in my situation. He did not offer to take the machine back although it was his company and his staff that had recommended I buy it. He has told me to go back to Harvey Norman and ask to return it and find a machine that will do the job. I have not had time to do this yet but that is my next hurdle. Watch this space! I am not finished by any means but would not recommend this machine. One thing I do think though which is positive is that the clothes come out a whole lot cleaner than my previous top loaders. So if you are a couple, with lots of time to wash towels and don't mind them being board like once washed then this is the machine for you. Oh did I mention that it is also extremely expensive.4 comments

Our appliances are manufactured for domestic use and this is why our appliances come with a domestic warranty, for use in a commercial setting this limits the manufacturing warranty of the appliance to a 3 month period which is clearly stated on our website and in the appliance user manual. Control panel stopped working. Very average customer service
The machine worked perfectly for a year and the features are great. However at about 18 months old the control stopped working when it's a humid day or it's raining, which in north Queensland is almost every day. Apparently this is not unusual for washing machines. I find this disappointing because it's not a cheap model. The worst part is the customer service. I had the machine looked at over a month ago and it still has not been fixed. They are still waiting on parts. So that is 1 month without a working washing machine. I have also had to ca...Read more
ll several times to chase up phone calls that they didn't return. Very bad service and I will not recommend Bosch again. Edit - after 8 months of phone calls and complaints Bosch have agreed to replace the machine. The main reason they have agreed to this is because I took a video of me pushing the buttons and nothing happening and finally I spoke to someone at Bosch who cared enough to help me.Similar opinion? Disappointed Bosch customer for the 2nd time! When will I learn?
I'm on my second Bosch washing machine in 5 years. I finally made the switch from top loader to front loader 5 years ago after friends told me I didn't know what I was missing. I loved it! Quiet, water and energy wise and our clothes are lasting 3 times as long. Amazing machine, that was until the motor blew up for no reason after 3 years. Unfortunately to replace the motor you may as well buy a new machine so by the time I had paid 2 technicians to come out I decided to donate the machine to my parents to fix & keep. As I loved my Bosch I deci...Read more
ded to get the same machine but the updated model WAY32540AU/39. Not thinking it was possible, this machine was even better! Patting myself on the back for choosing another Bosch (when all my friends have & highly recommend Miele machines) I thought I'd made the right decision. So last week the rubber seal around the opening split on my 1-year-old machine. Needless to say I am really frustrated and disappointed. I am yet to find time to have it fixed and am packing towels around the front of my machine as the water runs straight out every time I use it. In a nutshell, great machine but I've had too many costly problems with the Bosch & will be buying a Miele next time.1 comment

Cleans well but getting holes in clothes on the not-so delicate delicate cycle
I bought this to replace an Asko front loader that was starting to play up after 13 years of service. When the door wouldn't shut one Sunday night, I took advantage of an on-line retailer's sale and bought this Bosch model with about 20 minutes' research, as the sale was ending in 30 minutes. Perhaps if I'd had longer to research the machine, or if the retailer had offered Miele machines, I would have bought something else. This machine is quieter than my old Asko, and cleans well. It seems to require less detergent than the Asko, and is energy...Read more
and water efficient. The machine weighs each load of laundry, although it is sometimes a little finicky when weighing, and needs the machine to be turned off then turned on again to get the scales working. My big disappointment with the Bosch is the holes that have started appearing in my clothes. I've now found holes in 3 items, all of which were washed on the delicate cycle, in 3 separate loads. One shirt was even washed in a garment bag, and was new - I thought it must have arrived damaged. It happened with another new dress, and once again I thought I must not have checked the item well enough when I bought it. But now a t-shirt which I KNOW did not have a hole in it when I loaded it in the machine has acquired one. It was washed with a pair of trousers which had a zip, as was the dress. Zip or not, holes sustained while washing on a delicate cycle is disappointing from such an expensive machine.1 comment

Blown up and expensive repairs!
We have both a Bosch front loader and dryer and had the machines a few years and it has been good....until now! The front loader's drum bearings are worn, and is going to cost us in excess of $650 to repair it, on top of the $99 dollars it has cost us today to have someone come out to have a look at it. Seriously, what is the point... We bought a Bosch as we thought it would last the distance rather than going with a cheaper machine that we thought would blow up - the cost to repair the Bosch is more than a new machine at $750 total...
Very disappointed.

I think I died and went to heaven
It's only day one but after having twin tubs and wringers for the last 38 years I am ecstatic about my Bosch front loader. I've always had cheap washers that last about five years and decided to go for quality. We have tank water so water consumption is very important. I can do small or large loads which is an added bonus as I have only ever been able to do small ones. The machine is ok, the drum has a squeaking noise. Be careful there is no warning sticker like most all machines in Australia about removing travel bars. Loud compared to others I have. Bought it to replace an Asko, best idea ever. Washes so well and so many options for different loads. Super quiet and can not hear it when its no. Love the delay settings as it allows me to make sure the washing is finished just in time for me to get home. Would only ever buy Bosh again. Fantastic Machine

One of the best machine I have ever own
This machine is a beast when it comes to washing clothes. It's not a quit machine though but the clothes comes out clean and it doesn't wear-out your clothes. I used to own a samsung front loader before and yeah it was pretty ordinary, it was one of those machine you have to check the washing after using it just in case you might find some dirt clothes, no wonder this samsung machines are exploding these days. What kind of a company is that from making a washing machine to making phones.

Disappointing Performance
Had this machine for 2 1/2 years and up to this point very happy with the machine, but on the weekend a major failure happened while washing a load of bathroom towels (well within the load rating)! The machine has completely smashed itself to bits internally, one of the springs which suspend the drum and trough at the top has come completely off (was lying in the bottom of the machine) and no sensors or anything stopped the machine, so as a result the cabinet is completely dented on both sides and bottom, soap dispenser is damaged and the Drive Belt is shredded, as well as a variety of other bits and pieces which are damaged internally. Not really good enough for a machine costing this amount of money!!!

I would or could even let my husband use it....if I didn't LOVE my BOSCH Home Profesional sooo much
Our family uses 2 wash machines. My husband liked the top loader and I have had a Bosch MAXX front loader for the past 14 years. A time came when I would wash and my husband would hang clothes and I used both machines to get the job done (my husband was band from washing after he turned EVERYTHING pink). A couple of months ago our reasonably new top loader broke down and my husband suggested to new machine. His suggestion: another Bosch, why? he had noticed that the clothes washed in the Bosch MAXX were lint free, cleaner, could wash at higher ...Read more
temperatures (for things like dog blankets), fluffier and easier to hang. So imagine my joy when I thought of 2 BOCSH machines washing clothes the way I liked! The result: we purchased the BOCSH Home professional and this is a machine that takes washing to a new level. It has a light in the doorway and weighs the load which means I am loading the right weight to the chosen setting. It has great stain settings to choose from (and a true lover of washing will know that when stain removing, different weights can control the result, not just temperature), IDOS (Intelligent Dosing for detergent and softeners/extra detergent) which allows you to fill the containers and set your dose amounts and it will do the rest. It has 'AUTO' for those who don't have much time (or your a teenager/husband). A great feature that has been added: You can press 'PAUSE' and it allows you to add clothes to a load as oppose to the 2 minute wait for my other front loader. At the end of a cycle it even has a 'fluffing' cycle. If you love washing clothes and want better control over the results, get this machine. You will have to read the book first to navigate the detailed settings which are easy to follow but the wash results will testify for themselves. Just a note: my husband works his jeans hard been in construction and even his old jeans have washed up like new. His own observation.1 comment

Good Machine over several years. Minor chganges needed in design
We have had a Bosch Front Loader For quite a few years now. FD 8901 200093 E-Nr WAS 32741 AV20. I think an 8.0 kg machine. Only problem to date was the Water outlet into the pump was blocked with a piece of plastic left in a pocket. A little slow to find out where clips were to pull apart and more thought could have been put into that part of design to access the waste water outlet. I can only say that it has given very good service and I hope it continues. Would like to find a Service manual and a new user manual, I am going to try to ...Read more

Superior in every way
we have converted to liquid detergent thanks to the automatic dosing
The machine detects in auto mode the amount of laundry, the degree of soiling and the type of fabric and the program do all thinking
The display is large and easy to read. The operation is simple and intuitive, the machine is very quiet and very easy to use we stick to the same liquid detergent and fabric softener, because then you have to adjust the dispensed only once.
Highly recommend

True 8KG machine?
We just brought the Bosch Home Professional WAY32840AU paid top $$$ thinking and was told thats its a 8Kg washing machine thats why we brought it and only to find out once we took it home and started using that it weighs the clothing for each cycle you choose and to my understanding the only 8kg cycle is the cotton one the rest varies for e.g if you choose the towels cycle it only goes up to 3.5Kg so that is approx 3 large towels in the drum, when you buy a 8 kg machine you are buying it for a reason to use the 8kg capacity true? is there any way for over riding this feature? and is there a way to add/use a stain remover powder to the cycle?

The maximum wash capacity of this machine is 8kg, however the weight capacity can vary depending on the program selected. Putting holes in clothes
There is a lot to like about this machine but it's far too rough, I'm getting holes in many clothes, all of which were never damaged in my old Samsung front loader.
It took me a while to work out that it had to be the washing machine doing it, nothing else has changed, I also don't see much difference in which wash cycle I choose it all seems rough.
The cleaning performance is excellent but it's at the expense of your clothes. So far I've thrown out 6 t'shirts and 2 pair of jeans in less than a year. Would not buy again.

Looks kickbutt and is
Bosch WAY32540AU: We had the WFK2401 for 18-20 years and it only died because I forgot to remove the travel bolts on a move and it shook violently causing eventual death. Made in Germany, quiet, great loading choices, drum light. Looks like a spaceship once it lights up. Large door. Cold wash option. Can change wash speed when wash in progress. 15 minute super quick wash option. Serious bang for buck. Receives the same reliability and customer brand saisfaction as Miele in France (Que Choisir magazine).

We have had our machine under just over 2 years and in that time have needed the drum replacing once and the door has also been replaced - thankfully under warranty (i was told the door was worth $500). e machine washed well so long as it was never challenged to wash more than a few light items - forget quilts or even more than 2-3 towels. Washing sheets took 2-3 loads per bed. At an hour at least per load this meant your day was clearly mapped out for you. It often failed to spin even the reduced loads - so this meant dragging wet towels out and spinning each of the 2-3 towels individually. More wasted time. I felt being careful was my best option as I had already invested in the machine and warranty was over - even considering maybe I was just too hard on the machine and I maybe a top loader person. So I figured if I wanted to get the lifespan out of it I would need be super careful. But it was all a useless effort and a totally unsatisfactory process. Now i feel i have no option other than to get rid of it.... less than 3 years old and ($1600 later) probably still full of washing! So never again for me and Bosch.1 comment

hi. just like to know why our newly bought and installed waw28460au connected only to the cold tap please?

Bosch moved to cold water inlet only in their models Aquascure water inlets years ago. The manual confirms this. They use the heating element in the washing machine to precisely heat the water to the required temperature, as the hot water inlets are variable in temperature and often take a while to heat up.
Thank you heaps!

Hi, I purchased the WAY32891AU from Appliance Online about a month ago and was checking the manual to see how I can access the additional programs.
On closer inspection I noticed the image on the website shows a ‘Towel’ program on the main dial under Shirts.
My machine does not have Towel feature at all on the main dial or under the Additional Programs.
Also, looking at the manual I don’t have the following programs: Lingerie, Kidswear, Outdoor, Down Wear, Outdoor/Waterproofing and Sportswear.
I called Appliance Online and they were confused about the image showing something different to what’s on the actual machine.
Hopefully I haven’t purchased a older model.
Regards,
Jess

Hi, The Towel program is on page 34 of the manual. You select it on the dial using Additional Programs and then scrolling through on the menus to find it (see page 27 of the manual)
Not on my machine.
