The dialup suction is great for different surfaces, carpets, tiles and small mats. The machine is so quiet the only sound is the hissing of air being sucked into the adjustable head. The hose is rather large and inflexible, a little difficult to use in small areas and tight corners.
To empty the dust receptacle is fast, simple and easy, only takes a couple of minutes.
A great vacuum, wish we'd had it sooner.

I am really happy with this vacuum! I have two large moulting golden retrievers with both tiles and carpet in my house. I haven't lost any suction so the vacuum keeps going and going! I love the power head for carpets that really helps with a deep clean. Cleaning it is easy as which is really important to me. I really like the self clean option too that gives the filter a good shake into the compartment. Makes life easier for me

Portable as it is very light and easy to move around the house. Suction is powerful; only have to go over the carpet once to clean that area. Really easy to clean - I like how it's bagless. Overall it makes cleaning easier but also a fun experience. Would recommend.

The vacuum has amazing suction, to the point that you don't have to have it on max power which makes it incredibly quiet. On the low settings you can almost vacuum while people are sleeping, emptying canister is easy. Only con is that you have to spin the dust filter dial every 1-2 rooms to maintain suction (as it picks up a lot of dust)

What an absolute lemon!!!! With four young children the decision to spend $850 on a vacuum cleaner wasn't taken lightly. When we first bought this vacuum we thought it was fantastic - such great suction compared to our last one. Unfortunately within a few months we started getting the problem with the self cleaning coming on numerous times whilst being used and often stopping altogether, which obviously meant it took so much longer to complete. I called Bosch who asked if I had been cleaning it properly which I had, he then said he would have t...
Read moreo book it in for a service. I mentioned about the reviews I had now seen and was this a common problem which may not be fixable - he wouldn't comment and just kept asking if I wanted a service. Ended up just taking it back to Harvey Norman and they replaced it. We were happy with that, but again after a while the self cleaning kicked in again and now does it every couple of minutes while vacuuming. We bought the extended warranty however apart from being a complete inconvenience having to take it back, the fact is that we do not want it replaced with the same model.......for obvious reasons. Bosch, 59 'Terrible' reviews has to account for something. It's time to show some accountability and admit that this particular model is faulty . Shame as I really like my other Bosch appliances and my husband has always had Bosch tools with never any issues.- 3 reviews

After researching and comparing between Dyson and Bosch we chose Bosch after some previous good experiences. Oh what a let down!!! A year after buying it stopped sucking, and the repair agent tried to charge us to fix it even though it was under warranty, Bosch said they would wave the it as a one off? oh thanks but thought that is what a warranty is for and it was in perfect order? (Domayne at Alexandria where great and sorted) and the smell when using is awful! It continually does the self clean when using now even though we empty it after ev...
Read moreery use, and follow the instructions to clean. What they don't tell you (or the excuse we where given) is that dog hair has oil in it and after a while that oil builds up in the vacuum an exudes a smell which is not what you want in your house, it ain't no nice perfume. So after a few years think it might be time to look at Dyson. Steer clear and try a Dyson I would suggest or look at the new MeileRelated Articles

i love this vacuum we have had it for about 4 months and its a great vacuum. i have no complaints and love the sucking power it has and the adjustable knob is incredible when adjusting the suction on it. it could gently pick up substances that are very light like sawdust and then it can suck the deep dirt out of rugs and carpet. great model and worth every dollar i spent on it. Bosh defiantly made a good model with this one. it follows you everywhere and is very silent even for a high suction it is bagless and has a large capacity tank so you d...

Not happy not even a year old and the sensor keeps going on, lid doesn't shut properly, turbo head won't spin and sucking keeps going up and down can hear it one minute next minute you can't cleaned numerous times still won't fix problem. I am using it on tiles, carpet and hard floors. Was told best vacuum out waste of money. Purchased from Harvey Norman won't trust them again.

I thought this vacuum was amazing when I purchased it a few years ago. It then started with the red sensor every time I vacuumed whether it was tiles or carpet, most times it wouldn't even click back over to the blue light again and I would have to turn it completely off to get it started again. Not very happy at all considering the amount I paid for it

Worst vacuum ever. Major design issues. Makes vacuuming a nightmare.
1. Wheels have about 1mm of clearance. Vacuum needs to be dragged across capet as if it had no wheels at all. We have very low pile carpet and it feels like there are no wheels and it takes a reasonable amount of effort to drag it where you want it to go.
2. Power cord too short. Only good for one SMALL room. If you go too far and pull on the cord it starts retracting when you dont want it to. You will pull on it without knowing, then move in a different direction and the c...

Have been meaning to write this for a while- Was talked out of buying a Dyson and bought this instead. If you love vacuuming the same spot numerous times to pick up one small piece of fluff or you want a vacuum that is so heavy and awkward, this vacuum is for you. It won't pick up anything on our carpet on a medium setting and to put it on a high setting requires me to have a body builders muscles to push it. I don't dare use it now that I'm pregnant as it's so heavy and awkward I'm afraid it will send me into early labor. I have owned cheap Kmart vacuums that are better than this.

FANTASTIC when not stopping in self clean mode.
This WAS the most amazing vacuum I had bought. Much better than my previous two Dyson cleaners however despite constantly cleaning the filters and emptying it goes into self clean mode very regularly and then stops. Unfortunately it has become not fit for purpose as i cannot vacuum one room without it going into self clean 3-4 times before stopping completely. I hope Bosch can help get this sorted so I can return to praising the machine.

We've had this vacuum for over 3 years now and can't really fault it. That is until it faulted itself. The dust bin warped from overheating and now selfclean no longer works. Brush dust and smell of burnt out windings and it doesnt work past the drape setting. I've contacted Bosch and now waiting for reply. If they fix it this review will remain 5 star otherwise ill find it unacceptable that with this many users with same issues reported they wouldnt repair/replace the vacuum free of charge, no questions asked, warranty or not. We paid nearly 700aud and 3 year lifespan is rather poor. We too expected more. Either design and test it properly or stand behind it or give us a full refund to buy something that sucks.

Read mores to run With less heat losses i don't think this one will warp the canister and seize like the old one. well that's the theory! The unit was delivered to our door.Dont waste your money, I would not buy a bosch again, same problem as others!
Was a great vacuum, until, like many others, I cant vacuum more than 3 meters without it overheating and going into self clean. Meticulously cleaned the vacuum since new. Obviously a design fault and Bosch don't want to know about a $850 vacuum that isn't even a year out of its miserly 2 year warranty.

Carpet and vinyl floors. The stupid auto cleaner sensor keeps cutting every minute so you have to stop till it's finished this self cleaning process. Such a time wasting vacuum as it takes so long to clean a floor. A $50 Kmart vacuum is better than this bosh vacuum. Very disappointing from bosh, I used to buy all bosh appliances before but now I need to check as Bosh has lost creditably with me.

A vacuum cleaner which can't cope with household dust!
I've just contacted Bosch regarding my machine and then read all the reviews here.
It seems the self-cleaning mode is the problem.
It cannot cope with a well kept house, 2 adults and a small dog.
Vacuum has become a time consuming and very stressful chore, as the machine stops every meter to clean itself and then stops all together.
It's been scrupulously maintained (cleaning, washing and drying filter), changed the HEPA filter and nothing seems to work.
I've come to the conclusion that this has been a big miss by Bosch, a lemon!
I hate this vacuum. Worst I'm ever had by far. Auto clean goes off every few seconds and I can't get the job done. This is a waste of money. I expect so much more from Bosch. I have taken it back to store and been told I just need to empty the waste more often. Not the case. I have to clean the filter with a toothbrush to get one minute cleaning out of the thing. It sucks well. It moves nicely but it just keeps stopping to clean itself.

Impressive suction on carpets. Easy to empty. Good rewind of flex. Performance on hard floors was good. I liked the ability to vary the degree of suction. Lives up to its promise of being quiet. I use the vacuum cleaner to vacuum all the fitted carpets in living room hall and three bedrooms. Tiled floors in both bathrooms are well cleaned by the vacuum.

The release button is much too hard to press, we just managed it between two of us, but for one person, getting on in years, it's almost impossible. A friend in his 40's young and fit with strong fingers had difficulty to.

I hate this vacuum cleaner since I bought it
I had the problem with the self cleaning function from the day I purchased it. But when I complained at Harvey Norman they told me I have to clean the filter better. So I spent a long time cleaning it but it didn't help. Finally they accepted the failure and sent it away for repair as it was within the warranty. After I got it back it was working perfectly for maybe 2 months and then the same problem started again and it is even worse than before. The self cleaning goes off every 10-15 seconds. It is just terrible, I have 260 m2 to clean. I hate this vacuum cleaner. The warranty expired so I will probably throw it away soon. I would really expect much more from a Bosch product for $799.
