The process was clearly explained and fair. The claim was quickly paid. Can’t ask for more than that.i would end this review now except they don’t accept less than thirty words. This is the only complaint I have with Bow Wow Meow.

Everything I expect with Pet insurance
We unfortunately had to make a few claims for our Pet Shiloh. However, Bow Wow Meow let insurance has an easy claims procedure which is fast, efficient and claims are settled in a timely fashion.
I find Bow Wow Meow to be very efficient and responsive with all my claims.They always keep me informed with the status of each claim. My Dachshund has recently had spinal surgery which was really expensive and a very stressful time for me as it was quite serious and his recovery needed my focus and attention .I appreciated my claim being processed quickly without complication. When I did have a concern with one of my claims they were very responsive with their review of it and made the necessary amendments. My partner and I checked our policy...thoroughly before we made any claims.It is important that you know what you are and not covered for. Thank You Bow Wow Meow for taking the financial worry out of the picture for me so I can focus on getting my pooch well again. I am singing their praises to all with pets.

Peace of Mind and then some ..
I've 5 pedigree large breed dogs insured with Bow Wow Meow. I've been with them for several years and recommend them to new puppy owners and other pet owners. Their claim process is usually quick, unless they need to investigate a new claim and research pet's health history. That can take a little longer, but they keep you informed of progress and work toward a quick resolution. I am a happy client!
First claim for an ear infection
Decided to ensure our tabby with Bow Wow after reading good reviews and chose the peace of mind plan.
We recently had to make our first claim due to our cat getting an ear infection. Our claim was initially declined due to showing clinical signs of a pre-exisiting condition but after The claim was reviewed they approved. I was very pleased with the way they handled my objection to the declined claim. They contacted me straight away and had it resolved within a day. I believe you don’t realise how good a company is until there is a problem and they have the opportunity to correct. I will certainly stay with Bow Wow insurance and use for a future furr babies.

Do your research thoroughly people before you decide to sign up with this lot. Complete rip off and not worth a cent paid. Will be cancelling as soon as I can first thing Monday morning. Paid for the accident and illness level, second top I believe, and my dog had an ear infection. Not an uncommon illness with dogs and cleared with drops in a couple of weeks. Sent in the claim, which by the way took forever, and today received the rejection letter because he had had an ear infection prior to taking out the insurance, which had all cleared, and ...so they class this as a prior condition and so refuse to pay. He is a rescue dog who had been abandoned. Checked the dates and it was 8 days before taking out the policy so the VET notes said. Never even thought that an ear infection would be a preexisting condition. What a joke. So why in the world would you take out illness cover? An ear infection is an illness not a condition. Bit more expensive to change but then I have also heard from others, and seen on here, that renewal with Bow wow rip off skyrockets after the first year. They will come back and say all pet insurance providers will class this as a preexisting condition. Just goes to show how true it is that pet insurance is an expensive rip off. As I discovered from Choice: "Pet Insurance is the insurance a business sells when it wants to make money without providing any service at all. Riddled with exclusions and technicalities, pet insurance is one of this country's worst-value insurance products. It relies on emotionally manipulating your love of your pet to sell you worthless insurance. There was not a single policy that we could in good conscience suggest that pet owners consider buying".

Claimed a few times for my cat and now once recently with my dog. My claims have been processed quite quickly each time and always got back what my policy said I would.
Unfortunately this is the second time I have needed to write a review for Bow Wow Meow.
We have had the insurance for around 3 to 4 years for our pup. We have made one major claim, approximately 2 years ago. This claim took a long time to be processed due to multiple errors, missing emails (sent to Bow Wow) and requests for completely unrelated veterinary certificates. Fortunately it was resolved and we couldn’t fault them on their response, despite the months it took to finally straighten everything out.
I’ve chosen to write this second revie...w unfortunately due to payment problems. At the end of December, my monthly premium was rejected due to changing accounts and obviously the Christmas season. The letter enclosed with the email informing me that payment for two months (December and January) was due in the 27th of January. I have been attempting to log onto the online portal for around a week so I could settle the bill. Finally and after much frustration, I emailed Bow Wow (I like to have a paper trail) and was informed that instead of the policy being cancelled on the 27th of January, it was cancelled at the end of December. They have requested that I call and get this straightened out (indicating some kind of glitch) but due to my previous experience of multiple phone calls, emails and other methods of communication - I’m not sure how effective this will be. With this in mind, I am now actively looking for another provider. However, I would like to reiterate that although the policies, procedures and guidelines set forth by Bow Wow Meow, their staff and customer service has been impeccable.
We have been with Bow Wow since March 2015 when our Scottish Terrier was nearly 5. At that time the premium was almost $600 and it has slowly gone up until it was around $930 this year. During that time we have made no claims and I must confess that this year when I saw the premium amount I nearly opted out as our girl has never been unwell. Thank goodness we remained with them. A few weeks ago she woke up and her front legs were ataxic. We rushed her to the emergency vet and she ended up in hospital for 2 days. She recovered well and appe...ared to have gallbladder issues that needed following up. The ataxia is still a mystery but it appears to have been a one off event (we hope) and she appears to be fully recovered. She had a follow up gallbladder ultrasound a week later. The total emergency cost for the 2 days was $2880 and the amount we were reimbursed by Bow Wow was $2100, close to 80%. The follow up appointment was $360 and the reimbursement was $290. The claims were processed within several days which we were hugely grateful for as our credit card took a big hit. It is always hard to know what an insurance company is like until you make a claim. I am not interested in small premiums if when you go to claim they will not help you - it is just a complete waste of money. I just had to provide the information from the vet and we got a full breakdown of what percentage of each amount was covered. They did not have to chase me up after the first lodgement of the claim so there was no shilly shallying around. Very grateful and good to know should anything further happen (which we dearly hope does not) that we have assistance with any vet bills. Our girl is back to her wonderful bouncy happy self.

I had looked around and chosen Bow Wow as it seemed like the best plan for my dog. Some people told me it was a waste, and to just save the money however I didn't want to have to come to make a decision about cost or my dog's health. I felt relieved when heard she needed to have major surgery, covering the vet bill was made a lot easier.

Have been with for a long time (8+ years) however, get random price hikes- One just went up over $20 per month. Now in excess of $70 per month for one cat. Little value. Think we have done one claim where we got $500 back for a paralysis tick.
Process to cancel is horrendous. After a third call 1 weekend (not open), one 8:40 (went through it all.. but then the other team they wanted to put me through to doesn't start till after 9) 3rd call someone to organise the cancellation _ then had an extremely length process waiting on "hold" to speak to someone - this just played a "disclosure tape". Super inefficient process.
I can't stress enough - Do not use this product.
I have just had my insurance claim turned down . No reason given other than the fact that my patella injury is not covered. Yet nowhere in the paper work is this disclosed.
This is a really expensive mistake for me - I just beg other people to please please not use this insurer! I have just paid $3500 out on vet care to not even have a properly worded letter sent on why the issue was refused.
I am currently now involved in having to take legal advice and contact the insurance ombudsman about this firm.

I chose Bowwow Meow because they seemed to have few complaints for non-payment of claims, and I haven't been disappointed.
Our dog was extremely enough to get cancer at a fairly young age and soon after we started the insurance policy, but insurer came through. Due to her cancer treatments, we've made a lot of claims. With one or two exceptions, claiming was easy, and claims were paid fairly promptly. Because of the policy, we were able to give her the treatment that she deserved, when we would've otherwise struggled.
On one occasion, a large claim took longer than average; I called their customer service team and it was resolved soon after. I plan to insure with them again.

Hello, I wish to cancel my two dogs' insurance policy. I have been very disappointed by the minimal refunds we have received and feel that your (and other pet insurance companies') advertising is a bit misleading when you claim to refund up to 80%. It was closer to 15% to 25% of the total cost of vet fees. Additionally, your PDS, on closer inspection, does not cover a range of conditions pertinent to my dogs. Can you please tell me how to cancel the policies?

Hi Bernie, I am sorry you feel disappointed. Just like most the pet insurers in the market, there is an annual sub limit of $300 on vet consults which is why you may not have received 80% back.
