Looking to build with Coral in Jimboomba QLD... any recent builds that can give feedback on your experience with them? Thanks
Awesome experience with both the office and our Project Manager. We are based in New Zealand and we got regular updates with lots of photos. Great build, really happy with the quality, so much so we are about to start our second home with Coral!
Stay far far away. We are having massive issues with Coral Homes. Built is complete but the amount of issues is beyond words. They now want us to pay the last monies. We are requesting a detailed inv...
Read moreoice and all issues, including buckled walls, stained kitchen sink, massive stains on garage floor (the list goes on and on) to fix and Coral Homes refuse to adhere to our request. Because we are not giving them the last payment they are not fixing the house. We must have had and actualy still have the worst site supervisor any can have. Either don't reply to our emails at all or we wait for ever before we get a reply. Never in my life will we built with Coral HomesHi Ronel. Where are you constructing your house? I live in Sydney and am planning to consider Coral Homes as my builder. Can you share share details of what is your house model and who are you dealing with?
What floor coverings are standard in coral homes I am looking at the noosa25 MK2 but can't see in the product guide what the standard included floor covering are?
The carpet is the ‘in the loop’ range from Carpet court... it’s basic but durable. We don’t mind it. For tiles it’s the silver range of Beaumont tiles... but only certain sizes. Go into Beaumont and they’ll tell you what’s included.
Hi Coral homes
Do you build over sewer lines in Brisbane.
Hi
Anyone know how long to get Building Approval when it’s lodge as CDC from a Private Certifier?
I’m building with Coral and they Asked me to chose To lodge it with CDC or DA, and I chose CDC as I was suggested to do so.
Thanks
Max
We weren’t able to lodge with CDC, but they tried that first...
What council? Seems to depend on council you’re dealing with.
Hi we built in willowdale nsw and we got our keys last Friday 16/11/18 can you tell me how or what we need to do to get our occupancy certificate? I’ve tried emailing my building supervisor but he’s not answering me thanks
Different floor levels to wet areas from main floor - we are nearly finished our build and have discovered that the there is a substantial step up from the main floor tiles to the bathroom and powder room etc which will pose a trip hazard and we are not happy with this. We questioned this with Coral and were told "this is the standard and level floors are an upgrade", has anyone else recently built with Coral and have level floors as a standard inclusion ??? Their own display home sales consultant very recently told us that this was a change to process way after we signed.
Thanks in advance.
HI there, has anyone build a Marcoola 32?
Does your pantry have standard pyneboard shelves?and a shelf fascia support that is 90mm deep that restricts access to the shelves?
Was this configeration disclosed at any time during the sales/ build process?
Thanks
Annette.
I have a Coral home. Very happy with all transaction and fitting. Economics and timeframes were to the dot. "However" I have now discovered three water leaks within the roof cavity. The key indicator was ceiling sagging about 1cm with the plasterboard sagging below the retainer fixtures (leaving a visible round void). Upon inspection, I have found three points of rain ingress, visible by minor spoil indicators under the insulation. We have just had mega rain events that have accentuates the above. My query revolves around what warranty is offered against this. Concrete roof tiles on 2010 constructed house. Appreciate any assistance. Randall
I’ve noticed on other house reviews that they get back to the customer to try sort out any problems with the build. Does coral do this with there bad reviews?
I'm not sure mate. Ask someone who left a negative review
My case was escalated to the National Construction Manager over a year ago. Handover 2 years ago. Still a massive list of outstanding defects. So even if they do respond to post on here, you’re only g...
Read moreoing to end up in the hands of the same person and chances are, you’re going to be in the same level of pain trying to get things sorted. I have been blocked by them on Facebook so I can’t post, and any posts I made have been deleted.Same experience as Jen276. HUGE list of defects which they initially agreed to fix. Built in Newcastle 5 years ago and STILL defects are to be rectified. Some fixed, but then the fixes had to be fixed...
Read more. Our build with Coral was very expensive and our house is a lemon that we can't sell till the issues they caused are fixed. They have ruined our lives and could not care less. Off to Fair Trading now. I tell everyone we come across not to build with Coral. Only way to ensure we cost them as much as they cost us.... Prevent people from building with them.Is it 60 days from signing the contract to when building starts with Coral??
So every single person who built with coral homes had a dream build?
Hi Debra, we had a great experience with Coral Homes, but not issue free, they were solved pretty quickly but we were always communicated with regarding any problems.
I’m glad you had a dream build but the only time we get answers is when we chase them and that can still be 3 or so days to get a response and we’ve had nothing but issues and refer to our house as th...
Read moree traning house ( they practise on ours 1st and then get it right on another house). The workmanship is really poor, sorry except for the tiler and brick layer, there is never a full days work, the tradies come only when they have a few hours to spare, we’ve had the wrong drainage and gutters installed, bowed walls, poor gyprocking amd painting, plumbing put in the wrong areas and the same with the power points, doors damaged when putting on the door handles and the wrong kitchen cupboards installed with missing handles and I could just go on and on. I would never never never recommend building with coral homes here in nsw, it’s not worth the stress, my son is building with Eden brae and has not one issue with his package and he is 5 weeks away from finishing.Hi Debra, We have had the same experience as you. I am wondering what Coral are offering people to write these reviews where people are saying they are fantastic. We are just about to start legal pr...
Read moreoceedings against them which will cost us a fortune but we have had enough. They are just shonky crooks. We have been in our house going on three years and STILL having Coral coming back to fix stuff. The change over of staff is phenomenal and this can only be because the employees also get sick of lying and ripping people off. We have told so many different employees the same story and same list of issues over and over and over again. Our upstairs shower has leaked since we moved into the house and now water pours through the light fitting in the pantry beneath the shower and tripping the power....but no, nothing wrong with the water proofing and they want to re do the silicon sealant and put some sealant over the tiles. On a worksite or a shop, they would close it down if the power was tripping due to water. But not for a family in a house. We can't use this shower. They had to come back 5 times to fix flooring which still creaks in places. And the inconvenience to us as a family is incredible. Taking days off to be here, having to move our furniture around when carpet is ripped up. Having to clean up after filthy tradesmen. They took the entire ceiling down in the garage to fix the flooring upstairs....and yes they did finally fix it, but we had to move everything around in our garage, not them. We then had to clean up after the gyprockers because of all the plaster they flicked all over our stuff even after my husband asked if they were going to put drop sheets down and offered to do it for them they said 'no'. They refuse to accept that the deteriorating metal work was due to their tradesmen spraying acid all over everything when the bricks were cleaned.....but did replace 'some' of our outside lights which were clearly covered in acid. The bricks are turning orange because they were cheap and only painted and the 'paint' is coming off from the acid. Water runs off the roof and pours onto the ground because of the poor workmanship...the list goes on and on and on. Not to mention the poor quality windows and sliding doors that were installed. Absolute rubbish. You can feel the cold air coming in around the edges of the windows. It's as cold inside this house as it is outside. I've been in the ceiling cavity as well and the insulation bats were just thrown over in the corners as they couldn't be bothered getting over under the eaves to put them in properly. The bathroom floors aren't even full fibre cement, they only put a thin layer of fibre cement over yellow tongue flooring. The front door frame wasn't sealed on the bottom so there is water damage where water is soaking up around the door frame. And like you the gyprocking and painting was appalling. You can see the joins everywhere and I could do a better paint job. Windows weren't installed properly and when it was windy they just about blew in. When they came and took the surround off around the windows upstairs they were just sitting there, and not packed properly. We are having an independent building inspection done and the results of that inspection will be posted on Product Review. I've had Coral employee ring me and say 'what would it take to have the review on Product review taken down', my response was fix the issues .....but they haven't so a full and very lengthy review is on the way.Hi we are building a new house with Coral Home in Spring Mountain.
I have a question……
1. Standard inclusions are fixtures and features that are included in the price of your new home. Do I need to pay the conncetion of "water, sewerage and stormwater" for the site works?
I have reviewed the Designer Standard Inclusions lists in your brochures and on Coral Homes website.
It indicated that the "Connection of water, sewerage, stormwater and electrical connection allowance based on 600 Square metre" included in included in the basic price of the Coral Homes.
Rowina
Hi Rowina, all that was included in our contract price, we just had to transfer electricity to our name on handover. They sort all of that with council. But please confirm with your building superviso...
Read morer or your building administrator. The only extra cost was our variations of build, which I had a few mostly my extras!Hi Rowina,
Thanks you for reaching out. You are correct in saying that we include connection of water, sewerage, storm water and electrical connection allowance based on 600 Square metre block. When ...
Has anyone had coral homes refuse to paint the dulux colour you wanted because it was half strength ? And has anyone had their house painted in a half strength colour by coral?
Hi Brendan, we had our house painted Beige Royal Half interior and quarter exterior eaves. Hope this helps these are Dulux colours. This was not special request and was our original choice. Speak to your colour choice manager, or go higher!
Is it normal for Coral homes to charge extra to put slab in the alfresco area even when it is the part of the plan I chose?
Hi,
I think majority of the plans and packages are different but we had to pay extra to have an alfresco (which we did as it is easier to be done with the slab) and portico out front as well (which w...
Hello
It's worth sourcing your own concreters to do your patio and driveway as coral are double the price of nearly all concreters
Hello
I haven't signed the Tender Letter for applying contract since there are still some provisions that are ambiguous, whether they are included price or not. If we don't make it clear that would b...

My partner and I have bought a home it is 15years old it is built by coral homes the mortar is soft, the concrete in garage crap, the concrete around home is crap. I am concerned about the concrete the house sits on. Verandah has moved, roof tiles have moved and there was never a plumping diagram supplied from coralhomes pty ltd.
This has me worried. Please help?
Hi CoralCJ10.

our home is a 2006/7 coral home and our main ceiling collapsed last year inside
Our bathroom has been fixed three times due to dodgy workmanship on tileing. We have one tile that needs fixing still but they can't find a tile the same. We have just got a email adviseing us that they can replace it with a similar shade or we can just leave it how it is. Can they do this?
Hi Roy. If you can email our head office [email protected] we can look into this for you.
I will need your full name, best contact phone number and job ID on the email.

Hi
we are looking at building with Coral homes at Ballina!
ANy feedback on the Ballina tradies and workmanship would be appreciated.
Hi sorry i cant give any advice on ballina area. I hope your experience is better than ours. Our house is still dragging on. Very poor quality from all trades. Coral dont seem to be trying very hard ...
Read moreat the moment to resolve it. Extremely dissapointed.I am building a home with coralhomes on a 3000 square meter block in an estate and vacant land around me.
I want to erect a shed in the back corner of the block but coral won't let me due to whs requirements
They have the whole house site fenced off but still won't allow me access from the adjoining block to erect the shed even though the shed slab is down already
Has anyone came across this on a large building block where they have stopped you access to do this or something similar?
Yes. This is standard practice for most builders. I am currently building with Eden Brae and wanted to build a shed first but cannot be done either. It’s unfortunate especially when you have quite a large block.
