Our site supervisor Peter was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make sure the build went smoothly. We didn't have expectations that all would be smooth sailing, to our surprise, there were minimal issues and Peter even helped us with additional work required for our pool. After moving in, there were hardly any defects to report, all minor and cosmetic, Braden attended post build, he fixed everything in one day. It was such a pleasure dealing with him post build. Having worked in the building industry, we felt it was important to go with a smaller builder rather than a large scale builder where we were just another number. We appointed our own independent experts for inspections throughout the build stages and they could not fault the quality of the construction. Various experts and trades have commented how impressed they were with the high quality of the build, this was very reassuring to hear. Happy first time builder

Top quality builder with a focus on excellent customer service
Our build was on time and follow up was excellent, we could not fault the quality of the build finishes were all perfect. Better built homes has shown great customer service after taking ownership of our new home nothing is a problem for this builder there willingness to help the customers is outstanding.

Very negative experience
Our initial relationship with Better Built was a positive one. But as the pre-construction process progressed we were beginning to feel uneasy and trust with Better Built started to go downhill. We were told that our house plans had been approved through council. Yet, Better Built did not clearly communicate to us that Council had put a condition on our plans for us to include $11k of drop edge beams. sts and had to borrow more money from the bank. Pre-construction progressed including colour selections. We found this to be stressful and unorganised. We continued with the pre-construction process because we just wanted to finally get our house built. We signed the Build Contract and submitted it to our bank for unconditional approval of our home loan. Approximately 1-2 weeks before construction was due to start, we received an email from Better Built stating that they had found an error with THEIR paperwork and had somehow credited us twice for an item. They asked us to reimburse them approximately $8K which we found highly unprofessional and rude. We tried to contact them numerous times to try and find a resolution. They stopped responding to our emails and phone calls. We then decided to go into their head office in person to discuss. Unfortunately the meeting with their Client Experience Manager was very toxic and not the outcome that we wanted. We left the meeting feeling completely deflated and that we had lost all trust in Better Built. It felt like they are more concerned about their bottom line rather than their clients. We chose to not continue with the build. We did ask for Better Built to refund some of the money we had paid them to date, to which they refused. We lost $10,950. UPDATE - 30 Mayember 2022 My husband and I were contacted by Better Built Homes over a week ago. They have seen this negative review in regard to their business on this website and offered us a resolution to this current situation. They told us they would contact us again in a couple of days with confirmation of our agreement. However, after waiting over a week and asking in writing for a response from them we received absolutely no communication. We then called and spoke to them to which we were told they were magically going to call us that day! We were then asked if we would accept a much lower offer to which we did not accept. We were again told that they would speak with their management about a mutual resolution and contact us the next morning with their answer (29 Mayember 2022). They again reneged on this and failed to contact us. Yet again, Better Built Homes have let us down. At this point in time all they have managed to do is rehash the totally negative view we have of this company. We are more than happy to be contacted for further feedback.Similar opinion? My wife and I cannot begin to say how happy we are with our experience with Better Built Homes. I built my home approx 5 yrs ago. You can say one of the few first customers. The experience was amazing. The team from Better Built Homes was amazing from start to finish and they were thorough through every part of it, especially Aaron, Jayden and Mel. Now 5 yrs on the team from Better Built Homes are still happy to fix minor issues with the house at no cost. Good experience, quality build
My 2nd time building a house. I'm very glad we chose Better Built as the good reviews on here are warranted. We liked the Astoria 39 but it was short one room and a 3rd garage space. Neel in the sales team (he's also an architect) did a great job customising the Astoria to meet our needs in a way we didn't think was achievable with a project home builder. want overall, as many elements of the home are decided upon in discrete blocks. Bricks, floor tiles, carpets and blinds, all selected at individual meetings prior to the colour selection appointment where you choose internal fit out and kitchen appliances. Some of theses areas interact like floor tiles and bench-tops, so best to know what you want before these meetings. Once we were on top of what we wanted Mel was helpful in getting the selections sorted out. The site supervisor we had was Peter. He was a pleasure to deal with, professional, clear communication and open and to the point with any challenges that came up as we went through construction. Issues that did arise he dealt with on our behalf. I'm sure we were a challenging client as we got up to revision "P" in the plans versions as we made changes along the way. Allowing a high-end external specialist in to pre-wire a home theater system during construction phase was particularly appreciated, and I apologise to Peter for all the changes we made. But it was worth it! Haha. Sorry Peter. A few things came up that were arguably not required to be rectified by the builder (an odd tile layout in one bathroom for example). They always came through batting for the client and their efforts are greatly appreciated by us. By the end I feel like the team are closer to friends than an arms length builders. Let us start off by saying our site was not an easy site to develop on. We were knocked back by many of the volume big-name builders because of our sloping block. Thankfully Better Built took on the project and delivered our dream home.

Love our home!
We started the process by researching several builders and paying visits to many display home villages to get a feel for what we wanted. Better built homes ended up being our choice as we felt that we were listened to and able to be part of the entire build process. Communication along the way was regular and the final product superseded our expectations. Along the way when minor issues came up they were dealt with promptly which is great as we have heard many stories from other people who have not had ongoing communication with their builders. Overall we are very happy with the end result and absolutely love our home!

The selection process was smooth, Better Build have a great selection of fixtures and fittings to choose from and Mel helped us make some great decisions. The contract process was transparent and the contents was advised throughout this process. - Construction: Renee done a great job of providing us with timely weekly updates, which included a rundown of what had been accomplished over that week as well as a forecast of the coming weeks activity. Better Built is quality centric, affirmed after speaking with their sub-contractors. Our Site Manager Don was no exception, whom we spoke with and met on site for walk through. Our build was completed ahead of schedule. - Handover and post construction: Really smooth and enjoyable process, left with no doubt that any identified issue would be fixed & the housewarming box was a great personal touch. Don and Team identified a more defects than we did and were promptly and professionally dealt with by Brayden. We are very happy with the the quality of the fittings and the workmanship in both the interior and exterior of the home. Our consultations with Better Built staff and their suppliers were extremely helpful in making our selections and nothing was too much trouble. We were impressed with how smoothly the build was managed and the availability of our site manager Kevin Warner to answer any queries. Amazing Building Experience

We came to Better Built Homes and Developments after doing extensive research on a wide range of construction companies. We noted that, as a company in the residential construction industry, BBH is relatively young as a small to medium enterprise. We also noted that BBH had been favourably reviewed in the literature.

He understood the entire construction process and he was able to recommend a block of land on the chosen estate that would keep our excavation costs to a minimum. The tender and contract execution phase was well managed with systematic and transparent processes in place. Construction Phase: Weekly email updates kept us informed of the progress that was being made on our home. We had excellent weather for construction and the build was completed more quickly than we had anticipated. The site visits allowed us to see the progress. Don, our site manager, explained to us the importance of quality control in the build process and we could see that great care was being taken to deliver the perfect home. Don also worked with the subcontractors and builders on adjoining sites to ensure that our interests were being looked after. There were no blowouts in cost and the fixed price contract gave us peace of mind. Handover: This process was incredibly smooth and impressive. Don arrived with his paperwork and a new set of keys and pointed out all of the important final features of the home. The locking system was immediately activated so that only the new owner could gain access. The housewarming box of goodies, including a bottle of wine, was beautiful.1 comment

We had been to a lot of other builders but we chose Better Built as soon as we met Neel (sales consultant) and walked through the display home. Neel was amazing; it was joy to watch him sketch our house right in front of our eyes to match our requirements. No other builder even bothered. th Jeff was very smooth. He was honest and suggested the right things. Pre-Construction: Renee, Mel, Emma or Lesely, someone was always available to respond at the office. Communication with them was as prompt as it could be. All the questions were answered professionally. Mel was a joy to deal with for our external and internal selections. She was patient with us and gave us quality tips. We had no communication issues with the office whatsoever. We were always kept updated with what we had to do and how the things were moving on their side. Construction Process: We were always kept in the loop throughout our construction stage. Weekly updates were accurate and reliable. Don is a great site manager; nothing was too hard for him to do. During selection process, we did not pay attention to vanity heights, they were installed a bit low for us. We only had to ask once and they were amended the next week.
