Great
We have two Cora's in the house now, a 7kw in the lounge and 3.5 in the bedroom. These replaced older Daikin's and the difference is incredible. The power saving on our bill is probably a good 50% at least to what we were paying! We'd use the old ac's very sparingly and only when unbearably hot due to costs to run but now joke with each other saying these one's are free, lol. We run them almost all the time now without worrying about the power bill. It's fantastic

e could work out exactly why so these are like a Godsend. Cool really quick too, great features on remote. Worth the cash outlay for sure We've only recently found out there's an indoor, and outdoor 'quiet' mode. We thought just having the fan speed set to lowest setting was quiet.. Well with quoet mode on we think it's too quiet! So prefer the faintest bit of sound while sleeping and don't use it. That's how quiet these things can be Both installers told us they have Cora's throughout in their own homes so thar should tell you somethingPurchased in May 2021 for $2,300.00.

Great Air Con
Been using my Daikin Q series for nearly a year now so far so good, it cools and heats the house very well, and the outside unit is super quiet.

Great unit!
Ordered this unit when our old Daikin broke. Very happy! You could immediately feel the difference! It’s very easy to operate and quiet to run. It’s the only unit in our 3-bedroom house and it does a great job of heating and cooling the whole house.
Purchased in July 2021.

Powerful and quiet
High quality unit, worth the price premium. Quiet and effective, easy to use. Head unit small for the output. 7kw unit was correct size for our family room, which is large with west windows.
Purchased in November 2021 for $1,890.00.

Efficient and ideal for large sized rooms (40 sq meters)
After reading a couple of negative reviews on this unit from ieatwords, I was a bit hesitant - what if there is an issue with this particular model (7.1 Cora). To my delight, the unit has proved to be energy efficient and effective in cooling and heating my open plan kitchen and dining area. I am thrilled with the siginifcantly reduced energy costs compared to my central airconditioning with add-on heating, as I'm able to compare power consumption information in real time via my Fronius Smart Meter (solar panel system accessory). install the optional wifi module and PCA board to enable control of this unit via the internet soon. I think this will be a valuable on extremely sunny days, where I can turn on this unit whilst still at work, and therefore cool the house down when there is excess power produced by the solar panels. Will help keep my indoor plants cool. :) Not to mention a more comfortable home when I come back from work in the evening on those scorching hot summer days. $3030 inclusive of GST fully installed (back to back) with wall bracket onto brick wall at ground floor level including separate circuit breaker to the switchboard, with plastic conduit covers; I felt this was quite reasonable and the installers were reasonably careful to reduce dust levels when drilling through the external brick work. The only negative that I have about this unit is that there doesn't seem to be an anti mould function anymore. This is where the unit continues to run the fan on the internal air handler unit at low speed after the unit is powered of. This extended fan operation is designed to dry out the coils, thereby avoiding mould from developing. My other (older) Daikin 3.5 kW unit has this anti mould function but no the new one.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

One of the beat brand on which you can trust.
One of the best aircon. Dakin is very good brand. I am having three dakin cora in my bedrooms so thought to go for same in my lounge room. These units comes with r32 gas which is more efficient in terms of cooling and power consumption. Both indoor and outdoor units are quiet .

Noisier than expected
Cools my 2 bedroom unit very well and also heats it satisfactorily but mainly only when on 25 degrees. I was told 23 degrees is the expected norm for economical heating.
It started a tick pretty much after it was installed but I ignored it and hoped it would go away. I have hearing aids so I can easily ignore or not hear it. I've just had these altered and notice now how noisy it is when you have it on full blast or anything more than 2 fans in Air Force.
I bought this model because I read it was quiet. Perhaps if you're deaf yes but if not and it's near the TV you'll be turning the TV volume up.

Avoid this model if you live in a cold climate.
I had a Daikin FTXM71QVMA installed in Canberra in January 2017. I rarely use it in summer but rely on it in winter. I was less than happy at the initial level of service and things have not improved.
During winter 2017 I thought the external component dropped too much water but the installer, without attending, said this was normal. I got up late so did not turn it on very early in the mornings. This year there is another person in the house and the heater is turned on at 6:30 am when the outdoor temp is low.

g aspect a huge disappointment. The second below zero (-5C) morning temperature saw the internal unit turn off seven times between 6:30 and 9 in a vain attempt to defrost the external unit and by 9am the indoor temp was still only 15C. A call to the installer evoked a list of ridiculous suggestions and Daikin responded that the unit's behaviour was not unusual. Every sub-zero morning the unit struggles to de-frost itself and the power goes to that instead of to heating the house. I have been trying to get someone to check the water overflow which is a bucketload not a cup full. No luck. When I installed a heat pump hot water system tradies warned that it would turn to an ice block in a Canberra winter. The heat pump hot water service has worked extremely well. But the heat pump Daikin air con is a constant ice cube. Choice has just published a new assessment of air conditioners and ranked this model 9th out of 10 in the large >6KW range. On my experience I wouldn't have ranked it at all.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Stale/mouldy smell from Daikin airconditioners
Had two Daikin airconditioners installed but after 10 months they started to give off a stale/wet sock odor when turned on. Had installers check it out and they used an aircon cleaner on coils but it only lasted a few days before smell came back again. Rang Daikin and the lady who answered the phone said she had the same problem with the same Daikin model just a few months after having it installed. She said to run it on fan for 30 minutes for seven days and spray with Glen 20 which I did but after the 7 days it was the same.
Daikin is willing...Read more

Very happy with new Daikin split system airconditioner
This unit replaced our 17 year old Panasonic a/c in our TV/kitchen/breakfast area. Also joins another Daikin in lounge room and further Daikin in our bedroom. It works very well. Happy with quietness and can cool area very well on these hot days. Outside unit also very quiet. Local agent Aireffect on Central Coast NSW gave excellent service and installed neatly and took all rubbish away. Very happy to recommend

Does the job very well
This was a replacement for a 15 year old Daikin A/C that only had 2 service calls in it's life and one was caused by a frog electrocuting itself. The new Cora require new pipes to accommodate the more environmentally friendly gas that works under higher pressure that the older units. Because Daikin can only be purchased from trained service companies the installation was very professional. The performance on both heat and cool are better than the original unit with the same rating. Living in the Central Tablelands I had A/C installed primari...Read more
ly for heating, the cooling this summer has been much appreciated. The distribution of air is better than the earlier model, considering the amount of air being distributed the unit is quiet. The remote control is very easy to use and it has 0.5 degrees temperature increments. We also have a smaller Dakin Cora in the bedroom and a very happy with that one as well.Similar opinion? Beautiful Performance
Having retired, living in Melbourne, and needing a heater running all day, we decided to replace our now expensive gas heater with something that utilizes our solar panels. Having researched and knowing friends with reverse cycle split systems, we decided this was the way to go. Next decision was to decide what brand was best. After lots of research and investigating the "retail brands", ie those available in most electrical stores, we stumbled across Daikin, a brand distributed from more specialized commercial and residential outlets. s a Japanese company which manufactures air conditioners in South Korea and that is all they do. And I have to say they do it extremely well from our experience with our new split system air conditioner. Modern looks, super quiet and efficient, uses latest R32 refridgerant and hasn't sent our power bill through the roof. I would recommend a Daikin any day, and considering replacing our old gas wall furnace at the other end of the house with another smaller unit. Very impressed.Similar opinion? Would not buy again!
This unit is noisy. It's a noise beyond the fan, a fluttering sound that varies depending on the load the unit is under. On colder nights you can hear the whiny fluttering in the next room, over the TV and the normal fan sound. I called the installer back after two or three days and he said yeah they all make that noise. So it's not just me. I've called them again (it seems to be a winter thing). It's not fan cavitation (like they are suggesting) because if it was it'd do it any season. Anyway the installer is doing everything to stay away, So I suggest you do the same.
BTW visitors have noticed the noise.
Update. The unit is now gone and a Fujitsu reverse cycle ducted system put in. Yes, more expensive but next to no noise.

Daikin lives up to its reputation
This product is quiet, efficient and has saved me a lot of money on previous gas heating. Prior positive experiences with Daikin air conditioning led me straight to this split system. No regrets in installing it.

Performance exceeds expectations
Daikin makes an exceptionally quiet but efficient unit. We already had one in our bedroom, so we considered this when looking for a replacement unit for our living area.
The salesperson made a good recommendation of the Cora unit for this large living, kitchen and dining room area.
The white internal unit looks relatively unobstrusive mounted above white french doors on the wall in this area.
Controls are very easy to use. Easy to change fan settings, heat/cool settings, angle of air and circulation.
Installation replacing old unit was also fuss free, no mess left behind by Crispair installers.
After a couple of months of use in hot weather, we are very pleased with our purchase of a quality product.

How many solar panels will I need to run this aircon on a normal sunny day
2 answers
Depends on the size you choose. I have the 9.4 kw unit and it draws approximately 3kw (electrical) when running flat out. These are inverters though, so they do operate at reduced rates once target temperature is acheived. If you were to install solar because you were running the air con often just install the largest you can get (usually 6.6 kw panels with 5 kw inverter)
Thank you Bman. I have the 7.1kw already installed and an electrician is coming in two days to quote on panels for the express purpose of powering the aircon often. However as price is an issue, I don't want to be feeding too much back in to the grid.

If I want to recycle the air inside the house will in cool or heat mode. What is the setting on the controller? I don't want to draw the smoke and ash into the house.
