Very unreliable
Had one of theses as a present, great machine absolutely love it when it works!! Seals went on it after 9 months so took it to Delonghi and they replaced the seals and said even though I had de-scaled as per their instructions, I obviously lived in a hard water area and needed to do this more often.
So armed with my repaired machine I proceeded to de-scale every 250 cups as opposed to 500 as per their recommendations, however another 9 months later the seals have gone again, and it is now out of warranty even though it is less than 12 months s...Read more
ince they replaced the seal, Delonghi have informed me that I will have to pay this time. Not sure of the cost yet but it will probably be more economical to buy a new machine and not this model but one that is more reliable. Great when it works Seals appear to go every 9 months

Unfortunately disposable
This was a great machine when I bought it - looks good, worked well, all completely straight forward and fit my needs for no-fuss coffee. 12 months or so down the track, it leaks and getting a good cup out of it is a challenge. The things that you could put up with initially - the noise and the shaking - become even more annoying when you can't even get the coffee you want at the end of it.
Looks great, worked well initially
Leaks in the long term, noisy, shakes

Terrible Coffee noisy machine
Nice looking machine, reason I bought it after my trusty old Breville broke down. Very very disappointed. I spent two days trying to get a decent coffee. Ground too coarse, very very weak, ground fine took ages to come through and all grinds in between didn't produce a decent cup, btw using same coffee as always which is great quality. Machine vibrates. Supplier changed it without a problem. Back to buying a Breville.
Pretty colour
Couldnt get a decent cup of coffee. Vibrates

Good for personal use
My boyfriend bought me this machine for Christmas and so I've had a few months to play with it. I love it! It's a neat, compact and stylish little machine, and it's saved me a fortune. I used to buy coffee almost every day on the way to work and at $4 a pop that adds up. Now I make myself a coffee every morning - it's not quite as good as the most fancy cafe coffees, but I can certainly make a mean latte.
My boyfriend, on the other hand, worked at cafes all through uni, and he now absolutely refuses to touch the thing. It's nowhere near the...Read more
standard of the industrial machines he's used to and he doesn't feel that the coffee he makes with it is any good - so if you're used to working with coffee machines worth thousands, this is probably not the one for you! So far I haven't had any issues with it whatsoever - it hasn't broken, it worked perfectly first time and every time since then. It does very occasionally leak a little, though, which is a bit of a pain. Easy to use Leaks occasionally

Good for small cheap machine - but get extended warranty!
I bought this coffee machine plus the matching Icona Kettle. Both products are faulty within 3 months out of the 12 month warranty. A few months out from the end of the 12 month warranty the machine started leaking. Its not a major problem that I can use it, but when I first turn it on and it heats up water leaks out from where you put the group head and also from the steam spout.
I called DeLonghi but as it was just out of warranty they would not do anything at all to help me. I really think they should have at least a 2 year warranty so I...Read more
would suggest if you do buy from DeLonghi that you get an instore extended warranty. I also wrote them an email telling them how dissappointed I was and they never even wrote back to me. DeLonghi's customer service is shocking!!! Its a good little and basic machine. It leaks!1 comment

Perfect for those who prefer manual coffee making rather than the full-auto/pod systems
So far so good.
The espresso itself is really good. I only ever use fresh ground beans from a local roasting company, which is a requirement for success as much as any machine, but it seems to meet the challenge.
The milk frothing is a challenge though.
I think it has more to do with it being a different type of nozzle than I am used to combined with full control of steam pressure rather than some design fault or what not.
This nozzle is more functional, re: its angle and position, compared to other brands I have used (Breville and S...Read more

e and weight machine best without compromising on quality. The machine is very easy to use and to keep clean- both important aspects. The nozzle comes apart so it can be washed properly every now and again. Was this a special deal? Or did you haggle?

Woefully unreliable
Don't get me wrong, the coffee is great... when it works. When it breaks down, and it will! Delonghi will want to take it in for repair, we've had ours for 7 months and it's been broken more than it's been fixed in that time. Ours is in for repair now but the last time it broke down they had it for over a month. I would suggest either taking out the retailers extended warranty or buy a cheaper coffee maker that will be easily exchanged when it breaks down.
Coffee is ace, especially if you are prepared to grind your own beans for it
Woefully unreliable, when it breaks down you can kiss great coffee goodbye for weeks on end

Never used a coffee machine? dont worry.
This coffee machine has changed the way to see coffee. I've been able to try and enjoy numerous different types of coffee without fearing that I've made it too strong or too weak. After about my third try I was making some amazing coffee's that I usually wouldn't have enjoyed without it. It is hundreds of times nicer than plunger or any coffee through a drip filter. Honestly I don't know the science behind it but this thing sure adds convenience. Thanks for this awesome piece of technology that I'll impress my friends with later.
Reliable, fun, easy to clean, tasty coffee
I havnt found anything yet.

Love this little red machine, love it!
This is the first coffee machine we have owned and my whole family loves it. We spent a lot of time looking at all options in this price range and for various reasons decided this was going to be it.
(We bought it at Harvey Norman who price matched Myer who had none in stock.)
It took us a couple of days to each work out how to make our own perfect cup of coffee, as we all like it different strengths, etc, but I can now make a latte I would be happy with in any cafe.
It is so much easier to use than I was expecting, including the fro...Read more
thing of the milk. I like that I can use my own favourite brand of coffee in it and am not restricted by capsules or pods. Great investment. Good price, looks great, can use own coffee and not just capsules/pods, super easy to use, heats up fast, easy to clean. A milk jug would have been useful.Similar opinion? Its the small things that matter
I agree with the previous review, looks great but too much plastic. Not including a milk jug or proper tamper is annoying. The machine is too light weight. Removing the coffee filter holder requires heavy pressure on the machine with the other hand so the whole thing doesn't move. The cup clearance is just that, only for cups. Steam pressure for milk frothing is weak. Good machine for occasionally coffee drinkers. Now I know more about coffee, and coffee machines I want an upgrade.
Looks good, easy to use, and compact.
Light weigh, cup clearance, and poor milk frothing.

My coffee machine is leaking water from the underside of the unit. Where the silver filter is and all around that area? It was working perfectly up until today.

Do you mean from the drip tray that sits under the brew area.
Or from the back near the water tank. Sometimes if that's not pushed down the whole way water will come out of the water tank instead of flowing through the machine check the water tank is connected properly also check the drip tray isn't too full and overflowing through the back of the drip tray.
Please let me know how you go. thank you
I think I used to fine a grind and it’s blown something

I would use that email to follow up with Fair Trading. Companies are still obliged to help you if a product is just out of warranty.
