My machine has almost stopped making steam
I hear the pump pumping but instead of the machine supplying a steady stream of steam it is only providing a small amount of steam that is more like a spluttering of steam which is not enough to heat the milk
What can be wrong

Why is my coffee grounds container filling up with water ?

Hi there,
Just today when trying to use the pre-ground coffee function, the grounds are just dumped into the grounds container without actually producing a coffee. Making coffee using beans works fine. Any ideas?

Cheryl B.DeLonghi

Hi Harmony,
If you use pre-ground coffee, you can only make one cup of
coffee at a time.
1. Press the aroma button (its the one with the little coffee beans on it) repeatedly until “Preground” is displayed.
2. Open the lid on the bean container; then open the lid on
the pre-ground coffee funnel and lift it up. (its critical that the coffee is put in before the button is pressed as the brewing unit is in the correct position at this stage)
3. Make sure the funnel is not blocked, then add one level
measure of pre-ground coffee.
4. Place a cup under the coffee spouts.
5. Press the 1 cup button .
6. Preparation begins. The amount of coffee selected is displayed together with a progress bar which gradually fills.
Hope this helps. Customer service is also open today if you need to chat with someone to talk you through the steps.

Hi there.... I have an eletta fully auto coffee machine and it has been a very long time since the Descale option has come up.. is there a particular amount of coffees that have to be made or how does this work?

1 answer
DeLonghi
Cheryl B.DeLonghi

Hey Anna,
Great question this is based on the water hardness level that you have set and the litres of water the machine has used to make coffees. The higher the water hardness setting the more often you will see the descale alarm as harder water will leave more scale behind.
Depending on how many coffees you make or if you have been away or not using the machine for a time it may be a couple of months before you see the descale.
Hope this helps, please don't hesitate to ask more questions.

Hi,
As I recall, I think that I may have removed the infuser with power on. I was cleaning the machine before going away for two weeks. The machine is still running but during the rinse cycle the water does not come out of the coffee nozzles but it is dumped into the grounds container. Likewise if I make coffee the coffee also does not come out of the nozzles but is dumped into the grounds container. The steam and hot water works fine.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Wayne

Hi Wayne, thanks so much for getting in touch. The infuser will not let you remove it until the power is switched off as it will be in the wrong position to clip out of the trap door. The machines always need to be turned off and the unit moves into the second position so it can easily be clipped out. Definitely have a chat with our customer service team with regard to the water this just sounds like something needs reconnecting for the water to be delivered correctly they can help you organise a service for your machine.

If you are using the jug attachment to froth the milk, I suggest you just use the frother directly into a metal jug.
The type of milk you use will dictate how much froth you get. To get lots use full cream milk. Hope this helps.

Phillip B

Thanks Cheree. We use lite milk is this ok or should we try full cream.

Cheryl B.DeLonghi

Hey Phillip. All milk types can be used in the Milk Carafe. Lite milk does froth a little more fluffy as it has less fat content. If you are getting to much air check that the milk tube under the carafe lid is inserted properly so there is no extra air getting into the mix and also check that the froth setting is in the middle of the froth picture sometimes if you have pushed it too far around it may be off the actual correct setting. Also cleaning the milk carafe regularly and the tube to make sure the milk has a clean and smooth pathway to your cup. THis makes sure there is no extra unwanted air. If you are using the hot water/steam attachment then it's a matter of placing the wand about 1 centimeter into the milk to ensure it can circulate the milk properly. Hope this helps. If you need someone to talk you through the steps our customer service team is always happy to help out they can be reached on 1800 126 659

Sounds like a technical problem with the housing. Perhaps push in as much as possible. Contact Delonghi if you can't stop it popping out.

I recently bought the elette cappuccino top machine and i am getting these weird noise right before the coffee comes out. Sort of like something is jammed but still squeezing. And then i realised now that there is a different noise that comes before coffee comes out. Like a click hit noise. Another problem is the right sprout of coffee stops delivering coffee before the left sprout. Is that an issue?
