My favourite toy!!!

Very light and easy to manoeuvre

From particle board to deep pile carpet and tile bathroom. Does the lot Works okay but in these drought conditions requires a lot of emptying. Filter needs constant attention or it won’t go.

good vacuum, but not much more power than v6

dyson is always a good product and v8 is an improvement to v6 in terms of filter cleaning and battery.
overall, very happy with it and will buy another dyson again.

I have had four Dysons one barrel still like new 10 years old three cordless one upstairs one down stairs one donated to daughter Inlaw. I love them having a serious bad problems they are perfect. Great for all types of flooring. I rang up to order a new battery my warranty was expired four month ago and they still gave me a new battery. Wow I have never had such great service

Very good vacuum

published

Very good suction, light and easy to use . Takes up little storage space and comes with wall mounted docking station. I live in a small apartment so have ample charge to complete cleaning
The trigger button would be annoying in large areas I feel and emptying the unit was a bit tricky to begin with . Cannot use on vinyl floor but great on tiled floor and excellent on carpet and upholstery. Chordless and hassle free

A wonderful machine.

We have a dog. Can the little rollers on the cleaning head that run on the floor be made easily removable for removing dog hair etc. Otherwise the Dyson V8 is a top machine and worth every dollar...

One handed game changer

published

Having a newborn or baby that constantly needs to be picked up or one that can’t be left alone for too long means multitasking is a necessity not choice. Not having to plug in a cord and simply grab and go or vacuuming one handed whilst holding bubs in another makes things sooo much easier.
It’s definitely changed my life. The rotation head and swivel is fantastic. Very light and easy to manoeuvre. Our unit is small so can use a couple times before charging.
Suction is not as strong as I would’ve thought though and hard to pick things up at the edges/corners as with most vacuums. Emptying the barrel can be a bit messy sometimes but still love my Dyson. I thought it was overhyped but it lived up to the name in my experience

The best upgrade.

published

Okay, so the last Dyson I bought had lasted me 15 years, here I have made another quality purchase and am not disappointed at all, it is so much lighter and has taken me a little while to adjust to not having anything dragging behind me. Will be happy if I get the same length of use out of this as I did my last but we will see how the battery performs as time goes on

GREAT DEEP CLEAN

published

Have had my Dyson for just over a month. It is the best Vacuum I have ever owned. Can go from carpet to lino to tile with no effort at all. Great for picking up that stubborn animal hair. The only downfall is on max suction the battery only lasts 6-10 minutes and takes hours to charge which is a little frustrating when you have a large home.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!

The stories are absolutely true guys! There is no better vacuum cleaner on this whole entire Earth other than the one and only Dyson (Dyson in general not necessarily specific to this model). They are absolutely incredible, do not waste your time with anything else like I did, you will be kicking yourself for it once you make this purchase.

Easy to operate

My girlfriend bought this for our apartment

To be honest i was quite upset in the beginning because she spent over $500 for this vacuum machine and I thought it was too much and if you ask me now it's definitely worth it .it's very easy to use and very powerful. I love my Dyson vacuum cleaner.

Cheap Bellini Bagless (Target) better than Dyson V8 Absolute

published

Do not waste your money. I recently purchased the Target Bellini ($129RRP) after a couple of years with my Dyson. This is the second Dyson vacuum that I have purchased that kept breaking down. The Bellini really is phenomenal (check out the reviews on Target!).

Excellent for animal hair

published

I use mainly on carpet and its pet hair pick up is excellent, its very convenient and handy for spills etc. Probably a bit small as a main vacuum, I still like to use a power head every two weeks. Easy to use, light and very efficient.

Very overpriced

published

Battery in the cordless vacuums lifespan is not long enough, my v8 is on its 3rd battery,2 year warranty and that's it for a $899 cordless vacuum. Your pricing is so over the top, is the the V13 going to be $1499 dollars. You guys up your price every year like the health funds and the public seems to pay for your R and D(research and development).Soon you will have a $2000 cordless vacuum.PS what happened to your robot vacuum, for a big company why do you not have one in Australia now for us.

I use it both on carpet and floor tiles - I have had it for about a year and now cannot live without it- it makes life easy and I use it everyday. Just letting you guys know this is my second dyson and I still have my first one and it is still going strong.

Slightly overrated! Short battery life

published

Was given a V8 absolute as a gift from a friend... overall performance on different type of flooring is ok, won't say excellent but definitely other cheaper brand of vacuum cleaner can do similar job! Battery failed within 12 months and got a replacement, caused some inconvenience but at least is free! poor performance on vacuuming car carpet floor... the max suction mode is pretty useless as it drained battery within minutes! The coated surface finish on the suction pipe itself is so easy to get scratched and within 3 months of usage it looks awful with scratch marks everywhere. Overall, it is an overpriced unit with ok performance.

worst vacuum ever

published

Please don't buy one, we had a v6, it wouldn't stay on. We said okay we must be unlucky with this one, so we bought a second v8 because it was handy without using a cord.
This v8 goes flat after only 5 mins being on minimal power, very frustrating so we are going to go and purchase a completely different brand.
If we could I would not give it any stars that's exactly what we would give it, hopeless, worst thing ever.

V8

I just got my dyson today. I fully charged it over night. I was only able to do my stairs and than batrery was drained. It wasn’t even 40 min. Please help?

This is the normal run time. The advantage to it being portable yet still extremely powerful is that it must suck power very rapidly. You’ll need to adjust the way you vacuum. I do a couple rooms a day, breaking up the chore rather than doing the entire house at once.

Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

To confirm, your Dyson V8 has two modes of suction; Max and high power. With the motorised head attached the machine will provide 25-30 minutes on high power mode. Without using a motorised tool it can run up to 40 minutes on high power mode. On Max mode, the machine will run for 7 minutes regardless of the tool in use. To change modes, just slide the switch on top of the machine away from the "MAX" setting.

V8

Does the Dyson V8:
1 Battery powered
2 Vacumn clean
3 Wash wooden floors?

NO. Do not get water near any of the portable V series Dysons. The circuit board is exposed behind the HEPA filter and you’ll kill it instantly. It will do (dry) hard floors and carpet.

Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

The Dyson V8 range of cord-free machines are battery powered vacuum cleaners designed for use on dry dust and debris. They are not designed for use on wet debris or to wash floors.

We hope this helps, however if we can assist further, our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and happy to help with any queries.

V8 Animal

I'm thinking of purchasing a Dyson V8 Animal.
How does it go on hardwood floors? Would I need to purchase an extra attachment to prevent scratching?
Thanks in advance!

The Direct Drive cleaner head included with the Dyson V8 Animal is designed to clean both carpets and hard floors.

On carpets, nylon brushes dig into carpets to remove dust, dirt and pet hair while on hard floors soft carbon fibre filaments reduce static to pick up more fine dust.

Before moving to hard floors, just check the underside to ensure nothing is caught and the floor tool is undamaged.
