Had these guys a while back before the pandemic
I'm noticing that currently, they are using the war as an excuse for price hikes. Let me paint a picture before those shenanigans. Electricity-in a-box was the cheapest. Their tariffs were great. Then after a few months in they raised the prices to ridiculous amounts. We got no communication of the sort and had to move away.
Don't have much to say about support other than it was a pain setting up the portal access and in one back and forth interaction, they referred to me as someone else along with their email. Don't know how they keep customer records but it doesn't seem the least bit secure.

received SMS today that they are implementing a 95% increase in rates. Fails to say when this commences. States we will be sent an email "today" Also states services in NSW and QLD will be reduced. Try to call them to find out if this is official. Get two different answers. Finally tell me it's correct and they sent it. Can't tell me when this rate increase happens. Nobody knows when the email will be sent despite what the SMS claims. This is after recently being sent an email by them "requesting" that I go on Direct debit autopay and this is

This is despite the fact their website specifically states "BPAY" and also on their actual bills there are BPAY details biller code and reference number. I also asked specifically by email about paying by BPAY a month before I signed up and they said accepted and it's fee free... Do not join this mob, they are very sly and cunning. Do not believe what they say as they will renege on any statements.Simple, no frills and low bills
Electricity service swapped over from Origin energy where i had been for many years paying a rgeat deal more than now -we did the setup on the internet and the transfer was painless.. Bills plain and simple as are payments..

Cheap as chips
I don't have solar panels so the electricity is simple. I got 78c a day supply charge and 19c a kw. No off peak rubbish just a sweet deal that costs me about 50-60 a month.

Borderline theft
I recently signed up for electricity at 26c and a 10c solar rebate.
The rate of my electricity nearly doubled to 46c in January 2022 and the rebate dropped to 6c.
The Contract says they WILL notify me prior to any changes.
I contacted CustomerSupport who stated they sent me the updated prices 30-Oct-2021 and a copy of a generic email not addressed to me.
I have all my emails from that time and none were from Electricity in a Box.
Conned into signing up for electricity deal
I joined ELECTRICITY-IN-A-BOX in June 2021 because they advertised competitive rates. However, in December 2021 they increased the peak rate from 26.48 c/kWh to 41.80c/kWh without reasonable explanation. I felt that I had been conned into joining under false pretences.
