Ultraflex Classic (ZUF4202EU)

We purchased our vac in July 18. Could you please advise why is keeps grabbing on the floor with the suction? It is so hard that it is almost impossible for me to remove it. I have vinyl floors. It grabs so hard that it pulls the vinyl up which is a worry to me. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Turn the suction down. Also make sure you are switching between lino and Carpet mode

Our Turbo head makes an extremely loud noise whenever it is lifted from the surface. We had it replaced when it was earlier under warranty, but the noise is so loud that it is very uncomfortable. Should we buy another replacement because the motor might have an issue which is causing the noise?

After using it for 15 minutes it stopped running. Then after leaving it for another 10 minutes I opened the rear filter, turned it on and noticed flames coming out. Is that the end of it?

Have you cleaned the filters and let them dry properly? I would contact the supplier as if it within a year that should fall under consumer law

My Electrolux Ultraflex (two days old and just put together) does not have an easy opening dustbin. I have not turned it on yet with power, but realise that the dustbin when removed and held upright, with the orange hand clip engaged, will not drop the bottom lid open. The locking pin is in correct position to allow opening, but there is no way (without using force) that it can be opened. I would like to use the machine but realise that I will not be able to if I can't empty it. Olease, any suggestions?

Does not seem to have a power adjustment. Very hard to us as too powerful, almost lifting carpet off the floor. Jennie

On the upper back of the machine there is a switch with a + and a - symbol. This is the power adjustment.

My Electrolux ZUF43010R is getting very hot and losing suction. It happens after about 15 minutes of vacuuming. It sounds to be working the motor harder and you cannot touch the back filter because it's so hot. I have washed all filters and cleaned the unit completely numerous times.

the same thimg is happening to mine. It is only four weeks old. Not much suction, hot at the backj and switches off after 1 minute. Will start again only if I leave unplugged for some time.

Same with mine,it has lost suction, and within 3-4 mins it gets very hot at back where filters are, and switches off - and can't be time to change the Hepa filter because I've only used thew vacuum 3 times! Blimmin expensive piece of frustrating junk...

I experienced the same problem and the solution was simple I turned the the regulator of the power of the vacuum several times to the left and right.Turn it from "-" to "+" and the problem was removed. Apparently this bottun could also get dirty by dust and then somehow jammed. It worked for me. Hope it will work for you.

William
William

It's a faulty power button mostly due to dust damage. Will need to change out the switch ( I did on mine) Please see my reply to a diff question on the same problem.

Hi,
I have an Electrolux ZUF4201OR UltraFlex™ Allergy vacuum cleaner and would like to know how to remove the plastic cover of the power switch?

William
William

You can't remove plastic cover of power switch as it is hinged inside and deep underneath the dial.
You can remove the small cover on top of HEPA filter, then the large side cover next to power switch, in order to access the power switch.

Andy
Andy

Thank you William but the HEPA filter is at the rear of my machine and doesn't appear to have any small cover other than the rear lid. When I removed the filter there doesn't seem to be any large side cover that can be accessed either. It is molded plastic inside.

William
William

Hi Andy
Need to remove all 6 screws first; 4 screws can be found after removing HEPA and foam filters, 2 more after removing two plastic side hoses.
There's a small cover (same colour as the body colour, either red or blue) on top of HEPA filter, that you'll need to carefully pry open and be removed. Then side cover can then be pried and removed, then to access the power switch.

I suspect it is the on handle switch or possibly an internal component. Sadly nothing you can fix easily.
That said, Electrolux delivered us warranty replacement number 4 (!!) on Friday.
This POS didn't work out of the box!! (the powerhead shuts off when you draw it across the carpet towards you).
We are done with this model.
It's rubbish.
We will be calling them Monday and asking for a full refund.

I am afraid nothing could be done.
It could be an internal thing. Try giving them a call

In front of the suction filter and the removable dust box on an Electrolux ZUF42010R should there be a sealing plate and if so can I order the part?

1 answer
William
William

There definitely has a sealing plate, one is to guide cycloned air into motor, two is to make sure said air is filtered by the foam filter before entering motor chamber.

The white side should face the motor so the dust through the black section before reaching the white filter face.

niko87
niko87

The WHITE part faces BACK towards the vacuum. The BLACK at the front.

William
William

In my opinion, the black face should be facing motor, as the white foam has coarse pores to stop bigger piece of dust/sand, and allows black foam with fine pores to do the rest.

I have the ZUF4205AF (Animal Allergy Pro) and power/suction started off well. Now a couple of minutes of switching it on the suction is useless. I have cleaned all filters. Getting frustrated. I'm not sure about removing the side inlet and outlet tubes. I took a long time making the decision to purchase this cleaner but not happy at all. What do you suggest?

2 answers

usually the filters are the problem but you've cleaned yours - I presume that means washing out the motor filter in water and letting it dry over 24 hours. When I did that when mine stopped sucking as well it returned to brand new condition power.

William
William

Change out the HEPA filter.
It is difficult to know if a HEPA filter is clogged.
Of course if it is totally darken on the INSIDE face, it's definitely clogged and new a new one.

Hello Jo, the model we have is the ZUF4307ACT, I find them very hard to differencate between the models. It'll have something to do with the filters, ours has 4.

It seems to be the newer model the ZUF4305AF is 1600watts & 10.10 kgs compared to the ZUF4205AF which is 5.4 kgs & 1850 watts and I'm not sure if the filters differ in anyway otherwise they seem quite similar
