Useless
We live in a complex with an embedded network and we had solar installed. The set up was confusing for those involved and then Energex did an audit and breached us. After weeks and dozens of emails and phone calls, it turns out only 1 person in the whole company knows how to remedy the breach. The whole thing was a joke and I hope we never have to deal with them again.

Energex originally stated that I required a Certificate of Supply (CoS) for Electricity. I engaged an Electrical Engineer to complete this requirement. After 3 months, Energex’s then stated I never required a CoS (waste of time). I’m currently leasing a 20kva generator as the house build on my property requires electricity. This is costing $125/day plus fuel. If Energex didn’t pass on misinformation 3-4 months ago, I would have already had electricity. The date that has been provided for connection is in six weeks! This is completely unsatisfac

I’ve been in contact with Energex multiple times but you appear not to place any urgency on the connection and the house will be constructed within 4-weeks. I have lodged a complaint with the EWOQ to expedite the electrical connection to my property and ensure that I have my costs reimbursed for the leasing of the generator plus fuel. The New Connections Team clearly have no concern regarding this situation (or care) noting I discussed expediting the connection today with them where the Connection 'Supervisor' attempted to blackmail me by stating "if I withdrawal my connection date in an attempt to have my connection moved forward - then I can loose my place in the queue and then the connection may not occur until even later than 6-weeks". No customer support or care considering my family is currently living in a campervan waiting for my home to be built which cannot receive certification without an electrical supply.wont call when they arrive to connect power
terrible service, the least they could do with a 5 hour connection window is to call you to say they have arrived. They don't. So only option is to sit outside the complex for 5hrs to let them into the property to connect power. How about an automated text to say you have arrived, instead of an automated text to say connection has failed. $15 each time they come and cant connect your power.

It is a disorganised company.
A company, with very poor customer service, who abuses the position of monopoly.

Still waiting
I have been waiting over 7 weeks at the time of this review for energex to connect my electricity, I am based 6km from Brisbane and they have come out twice next door to do work on the electricity pole next to my house but can't seem to throw the existing cable from the pole back to my renovated house.
This company should be dissolved and connections should be privatized but should be held hotage by such a useless government department!!

Brandon and Adam
I must thank these two gentlemen for finding and fixing the problem that I had with my electricity.
They work calmly and efficiently as well as making me not feel a fool about the situation.
Thank you again gentlemen for your work and kindness towards me.
Incompetent
All full experience trying to get power on,been here 5times, making up excuses after excuses, sat out the front and talked in the Ute parked across the footpath for a 1 hour, still no power after 12 months of wasting time,if there was a lower star rating then 1,they would get it

Arrogant, lazy.
Slip in mail saying could not read meter as property not accessible. Same meter in same position for past 10 years. It does require one to take 15 steps from road but I guess the assessor was too lazy that day and just popped the note in the mailbox. Self read meter portal not a viable link. After reading reviews it would seem this is a common issue. Multiple devices over multiple days and still not able to upload reading. Made an online complaint and reply essentially said if I'm not IT savy enough to work it out to call number.
Just pathetic service.

Prompt and fast service
I contacted Energex about burning smell coming out of my main meter box. I rang and within 10 minutes had a loverly lady answer the phone and immediately organise for technicians to attend, once the issue was explained to her. The electricians arrived within an hour of my call and carried out their repair professionally.

Tried to get Enegry connected for 2 Plus months still no power. Bought a house in Redbank plains wanting to connect electricity the electricity retailer assured me house is now connected but have no electricity rang Enegex a few times they closed jobs a few times saying it is now connected but still no power. Finally after logging an incident they came out and gave a notice asking us to relocate POA. We did all the required work and submitted the forms ( numerous phone calls later ) finally they said they will come after 2 weeks to reconnect. Been waiting and waiting finally today is the day they suppose to come but no sign of them coming at all. Clearly don’t give a damn.

Ridiculous Company
I've registered as a dog owner on their website and have signed up for the notification to tell me when the meter read is happening so I can keep my dog inside. Yet every single time the person would leave a "could not access" card in my mailbox with "could not confirm dog was restrained" underlined. Yea duh because my dog was INSIDE the house !!!
I happened to be home when the most recent meter read happened and I saw the person got out of his vehicle and put the card in my mailbox without even attempting to access my backyard. When I went o

And guess what, their website doesn't work half of the time when I try to even log in to my account. Can't believe this kind of business practice still exists let alone for a big company like Energex.Use our energy plans comparison tool
Worst energy company in Australia
Complete lack of common sense in their policies. Energex have no intention of resolving issues as they are a monopoly in south East qld so care factor... zero.

I live in Kallangur, QLD and my street for some reason has power outages or the time. The street next to me can have their power on, but my street has NO power in storm situations 80% of the time. It is frustrating and I wish they would do better and do a better job at fixing this situation. Am I still going to pay for power? Yes. Why? Because even though your power out is a lot, we’re still going to charge you a heap.

My last bill was wrong. Almost double what it should be. I tried to sort this out as soon as I opened my mail after work. Origin and energex guessed that because noones home on a work day, my bill must be much bigger than the previous bills. Both companies have lied to me on the phone. I've spent hours making many calls. The Energex office is less than half a kilometre from here.
Why can't I get an accurate -ish time from the strangers who want access to my yard?
Now that I've taken a day off work to wait for them and been in multiple aguements with them ( on the same day), I'm wondering how much compensation they will provide when they accurately read the meter.
Anyone know?
Don't let the barst^rds get away with this. Energex is a dictatorship who are meant to read your meter, Origin, act on their 'reading' and send you the bill. Energex by experience, don't listen to anyone. The Energy Ombudsman is worth a go. Although they seem to be a parrot for Energex. They need to know. Tell Origin you will take your business elsewhere if they do not sort this out.
Here we go. This is for the Directors of Engerex, Origin, the rest of the major power companies, the mayors of the areas in Qld and on top of all the Queensland Premier. You put up the prices. You control the tax payers. In a world class country and you still won’t listen to the people. FIX THE PROBLEMS NOW. More 80000 new homes in Redbank, Redbank Plains, Collingwood, Springfield, Ripley alone per year. Don’t give me that there’s not enough money. Someone is taking money under the table. I WANT ANSWER WHATS GOING ON NOW.
