An expensive lemon.
I love everything about this fridge in principal, but it just hasn't delivered. I have had the ice maker replaced 2 or 3 times, the freezer drawers have locked up on me, it just stopped working once and had to go back to the factory. In fact, I'm so glad that I paid the extra for the extended warranty, or else I would be $2000 poorer and have no fridge at all right now. Now the handle is coming off and I have another error message which means another call to F & P, waiting a day for a response from the technicians company and then finding ou...Read more
t when they can fit me in for repairs next week. This is the most expensive fridge I have ever owned and it has been the most regrettable. The technician knows me by name now as he's been here approx 6 times in 3 years. F & P's service is slow and has too much red tape. I will never buy another F&P product again. Give me a trusted Westinghouse any day. The idea. It's a lemon that breaks down reliably every 6 months.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Great fridge except for the fault with the door locking mechinism
I had problems with the plastic hinges that hold the door shut. We have replaced 3 times now in 6 years. Also don't try and fix yourself (Cheap part) because the computer will need to be reset by a technician. Other then that it is reliable. Also the water dispenser is not that cold, it is only at the temperature of the fridge if the water is stored long enough in the fridge. The top of the freezer also dents.
It is wells set out fridge that never seems to be full considering we have a family of 5.
Plastic hinges, temeperature of water.

Mostly good
I have had this fridge for nearly 3 years. I love the look and size of the fridge, I love the water and ice feature, the only thing I don't like is the freezer drawers. If anything drops out of the fridge onto the top of the freezer drawer it dents. I have about 3 dents in the top of the drawer. Although Choice recommended this fridge I did purchase the extended warranty because there were quite a few bad reviews here.
Water, Ice, French Doors, Depth of Fridge - so many are so deep they take up too much room.
Design of the freezer drawers and the wine rack isn't strong enough for 4 bottles of wine. They fall down the back of the fridge.

Not as happy as expected.
Cheap plastic door hinges broke within the year. Now there is a leek from the ice bucket I think?? Expensive and not all that reliable. If you were considering this fridge, then think again and do some research into a much more reliable fridge for the money you are paying. The overall look is nice but a disappointing item that I regret buying.
The water dispenser at the front and the overall look of it
Most things. Broken door clips and leaking ice compartment

Fisher & Paykel - You should be ashamed.
Fridge has worked excellently unless it has broken down. At least 5 callouts in the first 2 years. Wiring in door was not installed properly. Took to the 3rd callout to Replace the wiring. Plastic Clips on doors have broken Numerous times. Luckily we took out an extended warranty. We have several F&P appliances and are truely disappointed with this purchase. We certainly will not ever purchase a F&P product again. Contacted F&P several times in Brisbane and they were very uninterested in our problems.

I wonder if the change in quality has got anything to do with the fact that they are now made in Korea and not Australia... This is very disappointing for me... I'm looking for a new fridge and have F&P everything, but am too scared to buy again...

Unreliable
Plastic door hinge locks break easily, ice machine broke down just outside of warranty. Very thirsty on electricity. For the proce of this fridge you would expect more than cheep plastic hinge parts (very dodgy) I will try to sell this fridge and go for a more reliable, cheeper to run version. Ice makers are a gimick that are not worth thr trouble
Looks good
Poor quality control

Very fancy looking :)
I love my new fridge & freezer. It's wide enough to fit the longer dishes which is helpful. It looks really big but isn't that deep which has a up side, you can always see what is in the fridge. I hate the deep ones cause I used to have food go off all the time cause I couldn't see it. Love the water dispenser, your not limited to the jug size. We found that when "change filter" sign came up the water did slow down but once the filter was changed it went back to it's normal self. Check out the filters on ebay they are alot cheaper. eezer is ok, you could store a fair amount of stuff in there but might get a bit lost. We have an outside fridge so I only have to store everyday things in there. The icemaker is great!!! Yes you have to open the freezer to get the ice however how often do you really use ice. It's also handy removing the ice tray so the freezer will fill up the larger box, so when summer or party time comes around you have heaps of ice on hand all the time :) We did look around cause at first I through the French Door fridge were pretty poor (you have to open both doors to open the drawers) but comparing prices, size and how we really use it, I'm really happy with it!!! It's really easy to see what is in the whole fridge The bottom draw of the freezer isn't the best - but can't please everyones needsSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good but far from perfect.
On the outside this fridge looks huge. The fridge part has adequate space, however the freezer is tiny! In addition to hat, it is split into 2 sections which further limits the useful space. One redeeming feature of the freezer is perfect temperature by default. Ice cream is always frozen but still easy to scoop. The ice bin is also handy, but after about a week, the ice will stick together and becomes difficult to remove.
The fridge doors have plenty of useable space with adjustable shelving. The bottle rack is also a very handy feature. T...Read more
here is a very glaring design flaw with the the 2 drawers at the bottom of the fridge, in that you need to open both doors to open the drawers. Splitting them vertically would've been much smarter. One other design fault concerns the locking clips on the doors. If closing the door while something is blocking the door from shutting, they will break with very little effort. One other note for our freezer, the drawer feels very hard to slide, as if there is something stuck in the drawer slides. Overall happy with the product, but it could be better. large fridge storage, filtered water tap, ice maker, looks good Freezer too small, freezer drawer feels cheap, fridge drawers need both doors to be openSimilar opinion? Unimpressed
The fridge is supposed to be built for Australian conditions however you have to open the drawer freezer to access the ice letting heaps of cold air escape! In summer that is not good! The water comes out of the dispenser too slowly. And the after sale service is very poor. My new fridge has rusted they are not interested. All up I am extremely unimpressed with the fridge and if I had my time again I would have bought a fridge better suited to our climate. I can't wait to have to replace this one.
it is silver.

Great fridge for the family
This fridge has been in our household for 4 months now and it is fabulous. The compartments in the doors are great and the drawers pull out easily - in fact they glide out. The shelves are large and can be moved to a height that appeals to the user. It makes no noise, and unlike some stainless fridges, I can still use magnets on the front to stick up notes. The water cooler and ice machine work really well. I like that I can have the water dispensed at different temperatures.
quiet, large, stainless finish, door alarm, water dispenser
Because of the drawers in the freezer limit the size of the items put in there. ie can't put a really big fish in there!

Good Looking
We purchased this firdge as part of our kitchen reno and it looks great, functions well and stores alot of food and drink. The down side however are finger prints are still a big issue, with three kids I find myself wiping it down several time sa day, also the ice doe shave a funny taste and will become one big ice cube with the smallest amount of moisture (as in the kids didnt full close the freezer drawer).
Looks great, very quick european looking too.

e for the same problem. In the end i complained about the frequency of callouts and they extended the warranty for another year. They have always been prompt with their callouts and i cannot complain about the service at all, although the frequency has been a big issue. The fridge itself has probably been the best i have ever owned, function wise. Catering for all my food storage, even having a drink or wine rack. The freezer ice section does sometimes freeze up but you are suposed to empty this every few months, which i don't. Having the freezer at the bottom is great and i don't find it an issue of trying to find something at the bottom unless have been shopping that day and it is full. If nothing else goes wrong, at least for a while, i would say that i am very pleased with it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Stunning design inside and out
I have had my Fisher Paykel French Door fridge for almost two years andhave recommended it to all my friends. it has a flexible layout, a terrific iced water feature that doesn't steal space from inside the fridge door, and a nifty little deli tray. Probably the thing I love about it most is its elegant, sleek styling - none of those big heavy American looking handles. Fisher & Paykel really know a thing or two about design. Wouldn't have anything else.
Looks beautiful, great, flexibile layout inside - completely reliable

Love It!! We have a large family and it copes very well.
Purchased in Feb 2011 from Retravision in Mittagong. They delivered and set it up and its been perfect ever since.
We have a family of 7 adults who come and go at all different times and this fridge has never let us down. Ice maker and water chiller are great for summer.Fridge and freezer sections provide way more storage space than first perceived. No noises, no vibrations. Highly recommended.
Quiet, seems to re-chill very quickly, lots of space and easy to clean.
Having to open both fridge doors to access meat and veg drawers.

Great for families
We purchased this fridge in 2009 and haven't had any issues with it. The fridge is huge and is very versatile! Our friends comment on it, especially the smart ice maker! I love how I don't need to remember to fill up ice trays any more!!
I like the smart ice maker and the space of the fridge. I like how you can fit a whole casserole in there without transferring the dish to a smaller container. I also like the bottle rack for soft drinks and how there is a ledge on the bottom of the fridge compartment so if something falls off the shelf it doesn't usually smash
The corner of the handles are really sharp, I have scratched myself numerous times when cleaning the outside of the fridge and my two year old has knocked his head on the corner too.

Spacious reliable fridge
I have had this fridge for over three years. The ice-maker stopped working in its first year (2008). It was fixed and we have not had any problems since. The service department is friendly and efficient and the service technicians are friendly well trained and very quick to come out... overall a good experience. They try their best to fit the service into your schedule.
The fridge is quiet and I am happy with the overall design and space. I am not that keen on the freezer draw as it is difficult to find things in the bottom. However the conv...Read more

Fabulous, spacious and ergonomic layout.
I had my heart set on this fridge from a design point of view, and planned our kitchen around the dimensions. I was very concerned after reading the number of negative reviews on this website that I may end up with a very expensive dud. Thankfully, we have not had any issues with our fridge - it has a fabulous amount of space for a family of 4 living in a remote area. The layout is terrific and ergonomic (I am a physiotherapist) I have not however, had the water dispenser connected as our water supply is not reliable in terms of quality

Absoloutely terrible!
After much research we decided to go with this fridge as it looked nice and seemed well throughout and sturdy. We also purchased it as it was one of the only ones that had chilled water from the fridge door. As it turns out we didn't even get the plumbing set up as the first one that came was leaking refrigerant gas out of the back. We received a second one that seemed ok even though the compressor was quite noisy. After two days nothing seemed particularly cold so we put in a temperature gauge. Unless the fridge and freezer was on the coldest ...Read more

Super!
Got this fridge extremely cheap through a Domayne warehouse clearance. My husband was very attracted to the design and appearance of it. Its wide and roomy interior makes it a must for any family, or regular entertainers. The ice machine and volume of ice produced is phenomenal. Our visitors love coming over in summer, as there is never a shortage of ice, or having to wait to re-freeze ice trays. The capacity of the fridge/freezer is excellent, however, the freezer can be difficult to find things if full. We need to run our fridge on the coldes...Read more
t setting, esp in winter, as items in the fridge never seem cold enough. As for the water dispenser- another major attraction, as it does not take up any space in the fridge door.. BUT.. we might only get 5 COLD glasses of water per day. We drink alot of water out of it, however, the coldest is first thing in the morning. Thereafter, it isn't really much cooler than tap water. Reliable, easy to clean stainless steel. Appearance, capacity and functional ability. Everything in fridge is at perfect height. Ice, quick cool function. Love the smaller drawers down the bottom- ideal for cold meats and cheeses. Water temperature can be unreliable at times.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great fridge for large family
Had a few teething problems in the beginning with packaging left in behind freezer drawer. There are three problems with this product, one: the alarm for the freezer drawer being left open is not sensitive enough. If the drawer is left 1cm open, which children do all the time, the alarm will not activate and the freezer defrosts. Two: does not make ice quick enough. Three: Not enough space in freezer.
All this aside, I would definitely purchase this product again.
The design
Freezer too small, Ice maker not quick enough.

Great looking fridge - enjoy added features of ice/ water dispenser and integration kit
We installed this fridge just over 2 years ago in our brand new home. We chose this fridge as it had the option of an integration kit for a very sleek look. Plumber, and cabinet maker installed it together - they had never used integration kit before so installation took over an hour. We have had 1 service call ( was great we had extended warranty) to replace temp sensor on water/ ice unit. - apparently a common fault. We love filtered water dispenser and ice maker. Ours has just started to not cool or freeze correctly ( lost a bunch of food due to defrosting ). reset temp to max low to see if it would make a significant difference and it's made very little difference. had an appliance guy come out and all appears to be ok based on visual checks of the evaporator and he's suggesting the main module is possibly at fault. it's 4-5 years old now so out of warranty are there any suggestions.
