The best fridge we have ever owned!
We love it. The only hiccup we had was the motherboard went on it, but that was dodgy power in a rental. We have had now for 3 yrs and still love it daily! I found the internal ice maker great, as it doesn't take up half the freezer like others do. I can fit all my large cake boards in it, very easy to clean, sensor on fridge & freezer is accurate n sensitive, can pull out freezer drawer to make mini deep freeze. Have fitted a quarter of a cow in freezer. It's just a great buy.....
It's everything a fridge should be!

Good size, handsome, good features, easy clean stainless
Good, well featured, quiet, good size.
Fisher and Pykel are one of the only manufacturers with the nurries to put good, detailed installation instructions for flush mount. Makes a big difference when designing a kitchen. Not many others will give specs for a flush (not proud mounted installation) - so it sits flush in line with the kitchen cabinets and makes a difference.
Purchased the trim kit to match - look magnificent - hasn't skipped a beat.
One of the only fridges you can flush mount.Frezer is perfect size for us and rolls out lik...Read more

5 Years and going strong
We have had this refrigerator since March of 2007 and it has given us no problems at all. We love to entertain so the wide opening doors and easy access to shelf space attracted us, together with the chilled water dispenser that didn't rob you of internal space. It has proved to be very reliable and nothing has broken. The alarm on the doors if not properly closed has saved us several times although I agree with one other comment here that if the freezer door is open by a very small fraction, the alarm may not sound. Still, this is the only issue I can think of and otherwise it has been a pleasure to use.
Edit August 2016 - Still got it. No problems so far!
Looks good, works well.

OK
This fridge has been great for me and my family. I'm not really complaining about the small problems we have had with it, but I don't know that I would recommend it to anyone either.
Lots of space and very wide, great for entertaining and refrigerating platters. I like the 'upside down' freezer, great for not having to bend down to the crisper. I like that the ice maker is separate from the water dispenser, it doesn't take up the room in the fridge door.
We've had to fix an electrical fault which continuously beeped when the door opened but the...Read more

The most unreliable fridge on the market
I first posted to product review in 2009 advising I purchased this fridge in April 2008, and had ongoing problems with the icemaker and water chilling feature. F&P finally replaced the fridge after countless wasted days at home with technicians. The replacement fridge never worked properly and was replaced by the end of 2009, after perservering with it for about 3 months. The technician admitted there had been problems with this fridge. Now 18 months later, the fridge has failed twice in the last 4 weeks and I have lost all contents as it h...Read more
as taken several days to get a response from customer care. While F&P advised they would refund the cost of the contents, I am currently in dispute with them over this as I did not provide receipts for the lost food. I am not in the habit of keeping all my grocery and food shopping receipts. So three years and three fridges later, I still dont have a reliable functioning fridge, service is appalling (the technician who repaired the fridge 4 weeks ago advised me to extend the warranty as the fridge is unreliable) and customer care is non existent. I have no alternative but to go to Fair Trading and lodge a complaint against F&P, Loads of internal space, good design, attractive looking fridge I have had two replacements; all fridges have failed due to malfunction of the icemaker and water chilling feature, causing loss of food contents. Service is appalling and I have had unpleasant experiences with F&P customer care.2 comments

ened to another family member who bought the same model. It was clear that the flawed design - only plastic at the hinge point of a very large & heavy door. They would not admit to the problem, simply replacing my relative's fridge and replacing only the plastic at the hinge point on ours. After some months the door fell off once again, this time they replaced the plastic with a metal bracket (clearly they now acknowledged their design flaw) but as the bracket was a 'fix', the functioning of the door was then compromised. Since then we have had to push the door shut - no auto close - and if not shut firmly, the door doesn't seal. This is the last time we will ever purchase a F&P product. Their deceitful and tardy attitude toward their customers shouldn't be tolerated.Another two years has passed, and the fridge has caused me further grief. In September I came home from work to a flooded kitchen, as the fridge was leaking, but Fisher and Paykel were unable to atte... Read more
nd to it outside of working hours. Fortunately, I found a reliable plumber nearby who was able to fix it for me. Four hundred dollars later, my fridge was good for a few more weeks. Now it has suddenly stopped chilling. All contents lost, I contacted Fisher and Paykel who advised it was outside of the extended warranty period; it would need to be taken away for a service, and I would be responsible for the associated costs. The alternative was a new fridge, at a reduced price. As if I'd buy another Fisher and Paykel fridge ... So today I am shopping for a new fridge to fit the space in my kitchen that was custom built for my Fisher and Paykel fridge. All I can say is never buy a Fisher and Paykel fridge. Not only do they not get it right, but they simply don't care. Their product is an utter failure.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Brilliant machine
We love this fridge, it's excellent, reliable, flexible and we drink so much more water because it's right tree and it's easy.
The ice maker is great, rapid chill great all good. Highly recommend
Reliable, good customer service, lovely simple controls and water function. Great fridge.
No egg containers included, ice maker noisy be good if you could program to not drop ice at night. I also don't love the chest type freezer, but you live and learn!

Terrible
I thought buying this fancy fridge would solve my storage problem and Fisher & Paykel adding my confidence in buying it. I bought this fridge on Sep 07, by December it broke down one week before Christmas. They sent me this battered looking fridge while they took my fridge away after the first attempt to fix it didn't succeed. They sent me a replacement which was also broke down just about a year. I had to take days off from work just to wait for the technician to fix the fridge that isn't my fault. It broke down again so many times after that ...Read more
until now. The fridge door kept beeping whenever I opened it and the technician that supposed to come tomorrow came today which was good ( I thought) until I found out that the cable he fixed hanging down and the freezer door didn't closed properly. I rang back the customer service to be told I had to pay when the technician come back to fix it and they fully booked till Monday and today is Thursday. How can it be???? So unfair. Lucky I bought extra 3 years warranty that would be finish by next year but after that? Where can I complaint about this? Spent thousands of dollars for fridge that keep break down? Don't buy this fridge!! Has lots of space and ice water dispenser is a good addition noisy, break down so many times, hard to arrange time for the technician especially if you are working... everything is wrong with this and also with the customer service.Similar opinion? Terrible
Don't not, under any circumstances, buy this fridge, it is the most beautiful looking fridge I have ever owned and has a fantastic amount of storage space, but it is very unreliable and things keep breaking down. Don't say you weren't warned. I am at the point now, where I am tempted to paint a lemon on it and leave it out in the hard rubbish collection. I don't think I will ever buy another product from them again!
Looks great, has plenty of space, the water dispenser is great, as it does not take up much room.

Terrible
After paying more money on the fridge than our car I was disgusted to see how many problems the unit has, poor service, poor build quality I can't believe people buy these "things" because of the design. I was conned into a brilliant design but which wasn't practicable in reality. Can't wait to move out of my house, I'll leave the fridge in there and get myself something simple but reliable.
Design is brilliant but that is it.
Horrible customer service, fridge keeps turning off, water dispenser doesn't work half the time. Very expensive, the stainless is so thin on the unit it looks warped.

The fridge is a lemon do not buy. Very cheaply made not worth the high price tag. Advice from repairers is to stay away from fisher and Paykel.
Looks Good
Constant break downs. Fridge has been replace twice due to not cooloing and ice maker breaking down. Recenly after two years water dispencer stops working and top half of fridge heats up. Fisher and Paykel customer service were very rude and showed no care to the problem as it was just out of warranty.

The Fisher & Paykel Ice and Water, French Door fridge has lots of space, has a great ice-maker and best of all looks beautiful.. I think it's a really elegant fridge and I bought their DishDrawer as well and they all match and look smart. There's a great wine rack inside the fridge and it has a beeper that lets me know if I've forgotten to shut the door properly. I would absolutely recommend this fridge and anything else from Fisher & Paykel.

great opening for the fridge - was told to stay clear of the side by side ones due to limited space and have been greatly rewarded. Large platters fit in perfectly and there is so much more space than you need. Great compartments for bits and pieces and water from it is super. Ice machine is quiet too
great fridge opening

Terrible
Terrible service from LG and extended warranty people
Rusts - even the rustless stainless steel
Ice maker bad - water drips continually
Vege containers fell to pieces.
looks fab
Ice maker - terrible - continues to make ice when full then completely freezes up. Rust started at the bottom of the fridge from a leak - fridge only 2 years old - LG very difficult to deal with - even had extended warranty but because they could not find the leak wold not replace - even though there was evidence ie, the rust!!!

Good
Great fridge, heaps of space, excellent ice making facility (although the ice does tend to stick together in a clump after a while) and great water dispenser. I definitely recommend this refrigerator.
Fantastic fridge - best I have ever owned. Heaps of space, ice maker and water dispenser are great, rack for bottles is also good.
The only niggle I have is that a small chunk at the bottom of the right door came off after a while, which resulted in the door not closing properly sometimes. To their credit, it was fixed very soon without charge (as it seemed to be a design fault).

Good
The fridge looks great, many visitors have commented on it. It also keeps my fridge organised nicely, the 4 drawers take all my fruit, veges, mustards and cheeses. The shelves take all my left-overs and anything else I need to put in. The humidifier in the fruit and vege drawers makes my F&V's last a week longer than they used to. The Irridium is very easy to clean and in 6 months I've had no scratches.
Big Opening, drink holder, ice maker, the fact that 1.5 slabs of beer fit in just the doors
The bin type freezer

Bad
Really, for the top of the range model its crap. I have never had so much trouble with a fridge. After 2 years of problems they have finally agreed to replace it. I can only hope that they have made some internal design improveents in that time and increased the reliability.
Good size & Looks, like the water dispenser not taking room from fridge
Ice maker contantly failing & freezing up the rails on the slide out freezer draw. Freezer capacity a little small for us

This is a great fridge, we love the look of it and we love the expanse of storage space that it provides along with easy access with the French doors. We looked at lots of options and kept coming back to this, and am glad I did. Be sure to get the Iridium finish, it looks great and it's a breeze to clean - it still shows's fingerprints like stainless steel does but nowhere near as badly - and they're easily removed (and I mean easily with no streaking etc as is the case with s/s) with a damp Chux.

Ours has just started to not cool or freeze correctly ( lost a bunch of food due to defrosting ). reset temp to max low to see if it would make a significant difference and it's made very little difference. had an appliance guy come out and all appears to be ok based on visual checks of the evaporator and he's suggesting the main module is possibly at fault. it's 4-5 years old now so out of warranty are there any suggestions.
