Hi there, I am considering purchasing a RF610ADUSX5 with the ice water and ice maker option. At this point in time, we are not thinking of plumbing the water in, however trying to future proof our options. Can I please know if the fridge/freezer will work normally except the water and ice maker if we do not plumb this in now? Is there anything or downside I should be aware of?
Don't buy this fridge mine is 6 years old out of the 6 years I have had problem with ice maker
Had 3 service calls in 3 years all for same problem and today fridge has an error on panel and it's not working at all
Every time it has cost me between $250 and $300 I am so over it would Never buy fisher and pay keel again
My girlfriend had the same problem on the smaller fridge
worst white goods manufacturer in living memory
my RF 610 AD USX5 has water dispenser on the door and the water is starting to taste funny lately, and the change filter light is on at the water dispenser, where do I go to buy the filter and where is the filter and can I change it myself ?
All the water to your refrigerator is filtered to remove impurities through a filter cartridge located
in a position of your choice outside the refrigerator. This will need changing approximately every
6 months.
■■ There is a filter change icon on the internal control panel and external display which will
appear when the filter needs replacing. It will flash, as a reminder, when water is dispensed.
■■ Replacement filter cartridges are available through Fisher & Paykel Spare Parts - Cleveland, QLD (phone orders only) - 1300 650 585
or online at www.fisherpaykel.com
The details of the replacement filter cartridge
are on the label of the cartridge. Alternatively filter cartridges can be purchased from your
Fisher & Paykel Authorised Repairer.
Changing the water filter cartridge
It is not necessary to turn off the water supply before attempting to change the water
filter cartridge.
1 Grasp and firmly twist the cartridge in an anticlockwise direction (to the left when installed in the
recommended orientation).
2 Pull the cartridge away from the filter head (down when installed in the recommended orientation).
It is not unusual for a few drops of water to be present when the filter is removed.
3 Discard the old filter.
4 Filter installation:
– Remove protective cap on spigot on head.
– Push the cartridge up towards filter head while rotating it in a clockwise direction (to the right
when installed in the recommended orientation).
5 Reset filter indicator icon on the display (this will remind you when the filter is due to be
replaced again).
6 To flush the water filter of any trapped air, harmless carbon fines and to also check for leaks,
disconnect the tubing from the back of the refrigerator, aim the end of the tubing into a bucket,
turn isolating tap on and run at least 10 litres of water through. Once complete turn
isolating tap off. Reconnect the tubing.
7 A few drips may appear out of the dispenser over the next few days as the remaining trapped air
is cleared.
To reset the filter change icon
Important!
■■ We recommend the water filter be used from the time of installation, and the change filter icon be
reset only when a replacement is installed.
■■ Do not reset the change filter icon before the filter is changed or the filter monitoring will
be inaccurate.
■■ We recommend the water filter cartridge is replaced when the internal and external icons
illuminate. This will happen every 6 months.
■■ Press and hold and BELL and + buttons for 4 seconds on the internal control panel.
■■ The filter icon on the internal and external displays will turn off when reset.
F&P my filter has been leaking badly since I had to change the First filter cartridge. I’ve just changed another one and it’s still leaking! What can be done about this?
Mine is too. Did you get a fix for it?
What is the solution to the leakage?
I have an ice and water fridge freezer and the exterior panel has gone blank. Cannot get water and have tried the sabbath mode. Please help?

Error message most likely relates to a common fault with the ice maker, apparently F&P have a repair kit to replace to poorly made original. This article give some details https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEIfr276SQk. Also google RF610DUX and you will find some other chat.
Thank you. I've had it repaired and yes it was a fault with the icemaker. I've found this a tetchy, troublesome component of an otherwise terrific fridge. This is a good tip but I'm probably not confident enough to have tried this myself.
On opening the fridge or freezer doors a beeping occurs and 2 lights on temp guide light up. what is the problem?

Hi, I have 2 questions please.
The fridge is a RF610A with LIQ serial number. Is it under recall? There was a note on the web indicating it was.
There is something wrong with the freezer door. The running gear sounds like they are running over ice or are broken somehow, the door feels out of alignment and does not close square or fully without a good push. Can you advise what's happening please?

My French door fridge freezer (RF610A) has an F20 error code. I have a technician coming out at the end of the week but how do I stop the beeping?
Sabbath mode can be activated or deactivated by holding down
the main menu, left arrow and lock,, buttons for 4 seconds.
Once in Sabbath mode:
■■ The interior light will not turn on when the refrigerator is opened.
■■ The door alarm will not operate.
■■ The display will not be illuminated.
■■ Electronic control panel will not work, only a small candle icon
will be displayed on the screen.
Note: if power is turned off the refrigerator will automatically continue in Sabbath mode once
power is restored. Sabbath mode will automatically de-activate after 80 hours.
My manual says to press any button on the internal control panel to silence te alarm. The spanner icon will show up but the alarm will silence. Good luck!
Hi! My 3 door F&P fridge started to leak water from under the front of the freezer. What could that be & how to fix it? I checked out the tray at the back seat if the fridge, it is bone dry?
Cheers!
Sam
Is there a thin layer of ice on the floor of the freezer?
if so it could be a blocked drain, will need to call an F&P technician to clear the drain.
How do I get the two plastic side clips off the top slide drawer in the freezer so that I can remove the shelf?
The freezer bins and trays in this model are permanently fixed. They cannot be removed from
the freezer compartment. To clean simply wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
They need to pop out so the drawers can be removed to enable work to be done on ice maker/ evaporator/ FC fan etc
The clips are push in - grab them with a pair of good long nosed pliers and give a sharp tug - they will pop out.
F20 error message and beeping of door. any ideas?

Hi!
I have got a fridge today but it's really hot left and right outside. I never felt hot side. Is it normal?
The gas pipes for the refrigerator are on the sides. The gas heats up to enable cooling inside the refrigerator and the compressor works hard on a new product to cool down quickly. Once temperature is reached you will find the compressor will cycle on and off as required and the heat on the sides of the refrigerator will not be as noticeable.
Why would my fridge be leaking water from underneath?

Where would I find the serial number for this fridge?
Pull out the lower drawer and the serial number is located on the right side of cabinet on the kick strip the drawer closes against.
it isn't easy to see but pull out the freezer door, you may have to get down on your knees, it is on the right side low down. When you do find it make sure you write it down, so you don't have to do it again.
We purchased the RF610D two years ago, we haven't had any problems previously but in the last two months the ice maker ( in the tray of the freezer) does not make ice cubes, all we have is a slab of ice, no cubes. Can anyone assist?
Thanking you in advance.
Jann.
Wet ice/ ice clumping possible causes
1 -Low water pressure.
2 -Filter blocked.
3 -Long freezer door openings
4 -High ambient temperature
5 -Ice bin left out of freezer compartment for a length of time
6 -Ice will stick together over time.
That is a tricky question! I don't know what the cause of it would be, but it sounds like a call to F&P. I know it costs a lot to get them out but it is too complicated for a handyman. The other alternative is to take the tray out and not use the ice function.
Same problem here.
Does it chill the water?
Not at all. Definitely no colder than tap water
The water is a little cooler than tap water. But if you use a lot at once or the water channel has just refilled, then it won't be cold. The longer the water has been in the channel the cooler it will be.
Sales rep led me to believe it always had chilled water
Hi! We just got our RF610A delivered yesterday and it's not cooling well enough (20 degrees in the fridge. 5 degrees in the freezer). We called F&P and they had no ideas. The earliest a serviceman can come is 4 days away. Does anyone have any ideas about what we could have done wrong (or neglected to do!) to get this thing operating correctly?
First of all, do you have the water despenser? If you do, have you set the feature of the fridge and freezer to the coldest set possible? If you have and the temp. is still not cold, then you have a problem. If you asked for my opinion before you bought the fridge, I would have said, go for a different brand.
I have a red light on on the water dispenser, looks like an ice cube picture. The book doesn't have any information about it, can anyone shed some light on this please.
Cheers

It means your water filter needs changing! You need to buy a replacement cartridge and change the filter. Very easy to do.
