There is a class action in the USA about a design floor
Bought the fridge and the ice maker constantly freezes up. They send out a kit to fix a "known issue" but this only worked temporarily. Once the warranty ran out it was adios omigo. I have since discovered that there is a class action against Samsung on this fridge model. Australia Samsung pretend there is nothing to see here and wont comment or answer questions about it.

This appliance started causing problems within 12 months of use. The ice maker continually iced up requiring a hair dryer to unblock it. At least 2 times per week. This problem is listed on many google reviews. Ice lodged in the outlet and would melt during the night and leak into the fridge p. This eventually rusted the doors on the side of the ice dispenser. When Samsung were advised we were told it was our fault??? We will NEVER purchase another Samsung appliance of any type.

Our fridge is three years old and the top left door is showing corrosion around the ice/water dispenser. I have not been able to get the door replaced after 5 calls to Samsung and also their local service agent. The agent wants $150.00 to attend and inspect the door because the fridge is out of warranty. They want to remove the door, then take back to their workshop for inspection before Samsung will approve to replace the door. How long will that take? What about my groceries? Cant run the fridge without a door?

The fridge is too cold, ice maker is not working, and water dispenser also not working after having for just over a year, I had called Samsung who sent me to their service department
Serviceman tried to repair but still broken, even though someone called out here several times, over a couple of years as this kept on repeating, They now claim it is out of warranty and I must pay for this myself
I will never buy a Samsung appliance and am seeking class action against them please add on if you wish to join me

Absolutely aweful product. Stay clear of it.
Had nothing but issues with the icemaker. Bought extended warranty and its been repaired, completely replaced, new mainboards the works. Has broken after a few months every time. Its now out of warranty so I'm just left with partially working fridge. Ice maker still freezes over, leaks water that pools under the crispers, then out the doors. Never will buy a Samsung again.

So in love with this fridge. You can make the bottom right door into a fridge or freezer with a touch of the control button. Have to pipe in the water but was easy to do with a plumber which didn’t cost much.
We did have an issue with the ice maker freezing up and not using but Samsung recognising the fault has fixed it for us with no charge.
It works so well with our family

The ice maker has to be defrosted/ deblocked about weekly now. My fridge is about 3 years old. I did contact the manufacturer but of course they did not reply. You can not turn the fridge off for that long so fixing the ice maker is a massive pain! I do not recommend.

The fridge functions well as a fridge overall. Keeps temperature well.
This fridge has a design fault with the Ice maker. It freezes up and you are unable to remove the Ice tray without defrosting the Fridge!!!!!!
This is the second Samsung fridge with an Ice maker we have had issues with and an other design fault . I I will not buy a Samsung Fridge again.

Like many other reviews on this site I have a Samsung French door fridge that was only 4 years old and paid $3550. Trouble with the ice maker jamming and freezing up. Error codes flashing and constant alarm ringing. Have had authorised repairs bring parts and components over the past 3 months to try and fix (including a new computer board) but to no avail. Fridge now completely not working. It is a throw out. I was approved for a full replacement from the Samsung Technician in Sydney working with our repairer however my claim was declined...
Read more by Samsung Customer Service. It is impossible to talk to the designated case manager assigned to your case . This call centre appears to be an oversea call centre as well. So basically my claim is declined on the grounds of the age of my fridge, the price I paid and the use of my fridge Woefully unjust. In summary Samsung Australia are happy with a fridge life span of 4 Years, Happy that $3550 is a fair price to pay for a product over 4 years and claim "Misuse" if you use a fridge as a fridge. I would never recommend a Samsung product to anyone. You are on your own if you purchase. I am not a person to be negative and write bad reviews. I would much rather compliment however this review needs to be posted and I have given Samsung the opportunity to be fair. I hope my claims with Fair Trading and ACCC can make Samsung accountable.Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $3,550.

We have had ongoing problems with the ice machine. Samsung repaired but wouldn't replace. It is obviously a design issue as it keeps occurring but they will not repair it anymore. It should have been replaced when we first started having issues, now we are stuck with an ice machine that doesn't work. Don't waste your money!

Great if you don’t need an ice maker, but then you wouldn’t buy this in the first place.
We have had our fridge for three years now and we have loved everything about it until just over 12 months ago.
It has a great amount of storage (we have 4 kids to feed), it keeps temperature really well, it looks good, the water filtration has been great. The freezer is deceptively large and the storage spaces are well thought out and usable.
Unfortunately, like most of the other reviews here, our ice maker started playing up just over a year ago. It jammed up with ice and stopped producing cubes and we could not remove the ice bin it was s...
Read moreo bad. We defrosted it with a hair drier (took an eternity) and more recently it has been happening every few weeks making it virtually unusable now. After looking online to determine the cause of this problem it is obvious that this is a design fault. This is really disappointing as this is our first Samsung product we have ever bought and it makes s not want to purchase any product from them again. I have seen in the USA that there are full repair kits that replace a number of components including a circuit board that fixes the defrost cycle that is supposed to prevent this issue. I hope Samsung do actually monitor this site and will arrange for the repair to be carried out as 2 years for a major component of the product to fail is not a fair nor reasonable expectation on such an expensive appliance. I’ll adjust my review if Samsung back their product and make the repair. As it stands currently though we have a major fault in the appliance that is a design issue.Purchased in at The Good Guys for $3,200.

I would not recommend this product to anyone. Required a complete control motherboard replacement at 4 years and just before reaching 5 years the unit stopped cooling again. Service technician stated that it cannot be repaired! A complete lemon and an expensive mistake. Do not buy.

I was under the opinion when buying our fridge it was black stainless, not stainless covered in black paint or plastic. I would never have purchased it had I been told this at point of sale. My fridge is nearly 5 years old and now the black is peeling off but this has been happening for some time. Samsung rave on about their limited warranty and dont want to know about it. I will let the ACCC know my thoughts.

Love the fridge but the IceMaker keeps stopping 3 years of this anguish is enough for a fridge that cost $3000
6mths after we got this fridge the icemaker issues started. it freezes over all the time it spends more time off than on these days and after a recent "defrost" at now 3 years old it isn't working at all. As much as I like the fridge and it's size I'd would never buy one with an icemaker again. And with the attitude of Customer Service each time I won't be buying a Samsung again. Even when under warranty they wouldn't do anything just gave instruction on how to defrost it. Pretty major engineering failure that going by other comments on here they still haven't addressed.

Our Samsung 719L fridge is approximately 3-4 years old and now the fridge section has stopped cooling. Everything else, freezer, ice maker, lights, control panel etc all work fine.
We tried unplugging for 30 minutes, yet no success. Any ideas as to what has happened?
