I had this same problem. Machine would say power cut every few minutes on the spin and rinse cycle then it wouldn't turn on at all. I had to get a fisher and Paykel service man to come in. $250 for the part + inspection. I believe it was the mother board and the water pump. Would be best to ring them. They said they is a rare problem, however that must be a lie because so many have reported this problem. Hope this helps
Thanks Brya still trying to sort it!!
replace the drain pump... it is overheating.

I've had a fabricsmart for 4 years, on extended warranty, and the agitator fins have stress marks and are breaking. (I always thought they were too flimsy to do such big 8.5kg loads.) We contacted PnF through good guys and they refused to replace to $80 part because it was out of warranty. (According to new consumer laws this part needs to be able to last a reasonable amount of time and be of decent quality, which 4 years is not).
Has anyone else has problems with their agitator?
3 answers
Hi penny, I have the 10 Kg model for about 3 months now but all the parts seem very sturdy to me but I am very positive that under new Australian consumer law you should get that repaired with no out of pocket costs. I would recommend to contact F&P directly rather than having to speak through a middle man (like good guys). Also when you speak to F&P make a point of the Australian consumer law and push really hard to get the job done. Remember "Angry customers get their job done sooner"!!! All the very Best!!! Hope the advice helps!!!
Thanks for the reply.
Because we bought it through the good guys I must approach them, according to consumer protection advice. We have approached the store supervisor, who always helps us out, and he will take it to the store owner. I'm sure the owner will get FnP to see reason.
The lower fins on the agitator flex a lot and easily get clothes (especially straps, long pants stringse etc) caught on them and are tricky to untangle. I think this hasnt helped.
The fins on the agitator are designed to flex, only have concern when they get cracks in them or break.
Anything with straps, strings etc should be washed in a clothing bag. Esp underwire bras.
If you have extended warranty, find out who with and contact them directly.
The extended warranty company (Lumley?) will get in touch with F&P or give you authorisation to get in touch with F&P and have it repaired under 3rd party warranty.

After owning my Fabric Smart 10 kg F&P for a year, and having no problems at all, I am finding that it is starting to leave fluff all over the clothes - very noticeable with dark clothes and sheets. Looks terrible! I do not use fabric softener and run it through the bowl clean cycle whenever the light comes on. I have taken out the agitator and cleaned it - all to no avail!! Is there somewhere else I can clean lint/fluff from??
1 answer
I found that this was because it couldn't spin rinse properly, as it has automatic fluff removal during final spin waste water that spits it out in the straight into waste pipe.
But because yours is so old may be this waste pipe is blocked? Hope this helps.

found this on the internet Fisher Paykel Washer GWL10 GWL11 Error Code 37 Fisher Paykel Washer Repair Tips
Disconnect power before attempting any appliance repair!
Fisher Paykel washer have one very common error code. This error code is 37. The display lights on fisher paykel washer will illuminate, each one represent a different numerical value. Fisher Paykel uses an auxiliary drain pump to pump the washer water out. Often times debris will become lodged inside the drain pump causing the error code 37.
Most times you can fix your fisher paykel washer error code 7 without parts. Start by tipping the washer back, the drain motor is in the front right corner. Remove the wires to pump and depress the tab on the side of the pump. Once the drain pump is twisted pasted the lock position it will drop down. Note when the pump is removed all water inside the washer will come out. Bail as much water as possible before drain pump removal, a pile of towels may also be handy. When the impeller on the drain pump doesn’t move the control senses this and will give the error code. Often times a small sock or undergarments will make it past the inner tub and down to the pump. Finding clothes stuck in the pump would indicate either overloading or not using a garment bag.
Fisher Paykel washer repair is simple, we know these units well and can assist you with any repair or review question you have. You can also speak with a Fisher Paykel appliance technician in our repair forums in the link below.

I have a fisher Paykel intuitive ecosmart giving error code 37. The machine pumps most of the water out and says it is in spin cycle but it never spins. can hear it tying to slowly start to spin and eventually gives the fault code 37, also has an electrical burning smell. I think from the main motor. I removed the pump, found a couple of small bobby pins. Cleaned and re-installed butstill the same problem.

Does this Fabric smart machine give you a warm wash on regular and Heavy duty Cycles??? I have the washsmart and starts with warm for the first part of fill, then mixes detergent, and finishes fill with cold water. So basically you are washing in cold water for every cycle beside allergy. Thank you

The manual states if you turn eco-active off it will do the complete wash at the selected temp...copy and paste......
f Eco-Active™ is
‘On’ the temperature will be lower for the second part of the wash. When Eco-Active™
‘Off’ is selected, the bowl will fill with the wash temperature selected.
Thank you the wash smart will not let you take the Eco - Active off... Hence the different between the two machines I am really disappointed with the wash smart as my husband is a farmer and clothes are always grotty... I have always had F&P top loaders and been really happy until now. I am might need to upgrade.

Error code 107
The Display Module has detected that the Motor Control Module has reset when it should not have. This can be due to a failure of the microprocessor or a power supply disturbance such as a mains surge or transient voltages, or any other source of electrical noise getting to the microprocessor.
This can be caused by a fault in the motor, drain pump, RPS circuit board, wiring or in the control module itself. You will need to get a service company to find & fix the fault. Just changing the module may not fix it. Check the other parts first.

I have had this machine for a few months now and love it, but yesterday the clean machine light came on and I followed the instructions, putting the cycle on just before I went to bed. It woke me up in the middle of the night with constant beeps one or two seconds apart so I just turned it off to deal with in the morning. Now, I can't do anything with the machine - the light above the lid lock just stays on all the time (but the lid is not locked) and none of the other buttons work, and it still gives me the constant beeping noise when I turn it on. I can't even get into the programming to do a factory reset. Help!!!!

It is very difficult to make an accurate diagnosis of the specific cause without the benefit of inspecting your appliance.
If you would like to arrange a technician to attend to your washing machine, you can call our 24-hour Customer Care Centre on 1300 650 590 and a Customer Representative will assist you with service in your area.
Alternatively, you can search for service in your area by using our online locator at the following link: http://www.fisherpaykel.com/au/support/service-appliances#request-a-service
If there is a Fisher & Paykel technician in your area, a form will be generated which you can complete to submit a service request using our online booking facility. Otherwise, the locator will provide you with the contact details for the Authorised Service Centre(s) near your area.
Hi Aussiechic, To deal with the fault you are experiencing. At the wall turn off the power and unplug for an hour. Then reconnect, turn on the machine. Touch and hold the "Power" button for 3 seconds. This should unlock the control panel. You should be able to rotate the programmes to "Easy Iron", hold the Start Pause for 3 seconds to reset machine. If you accidentally had items in the machine on a clean bowl cycle, run a rinse cycle. Best of Luck. If this doesn't work call 1300 650 590 for Fisher & Paykel. The Clean Bowl programme will light up on about every 100 wash cycles, expect this about every 3 months. As for the beeping and original fault, no idea.
Tried that, got it going again, but when I put it into the clean bowl cycle again, exactly the same thing happened again - it appears to me that because the clean bowl cycle uses hot water, the steam from the water affects the electronics and letting it dry out helps, but this is not a solution. It has not helped on this second occasion - it has now been two days since the malfunction and it's not working.

Hi, I have a Fisher and Paykel top loader Model WA80T65FW1. It has recently started beeping and stopping and then restarting in the middle of a wash. When it gets to the Rinse 1 cycle with 20 minutes to go it cuts out and says power cut. It resumes some seconds later and restarts again. After about 30 seconds it again cuts out and repeats itself. If I advance the wash past this point it continues with the wash until the end without any further problems. Can you give me an indication of what might be wrong with it.

Our WA8OT65FW1 Top Loader is now 3 years old and has started to continually beep every 5 seconds when first filling and also when rinse filling. There are no warning numbers or lights displayed and it never used to. The wash completes and its all good just the beeping all the time?

sco, I wonder if possible something to do with the water inlets, ie. you're setting a warm wash cycle but only have the cold water inlet open? Or there is some sort of blockage ?
Thanks JCMum12, Have both hoses attached and only use Cold Water and CW setting from day one and Yes agree it sounds like a Blockage hey and not sure where to start have disconnected hoses and checked unless something internal?
Rudi K.Fisher & Paykel
Cold tap has not been turned on.
Cold water temperature exceeds recommended limits
Hot water supply is not hot enough to maintain the wash temperature you have selected.
Select a lower wash temperature.
Inlet hose screens may be blocked.
There may be a kink in the hose
Hot tap has not been turned on.
Inlet hoses connected to the wrong taps.
The flow rate of the supply water is too slow.

I turned my 6-year-old F&P on, there were 2 quick, loud 'bangs' and all the lights on the Display Board went out. Does this mean the electric board just needs replacing or is this something bigger? Model WA75T65GW1.

Hi I got a fault code 40, could you advise what does it means and what should I do? Thank you
3 answers
Contact Fisher and Paykel they should be able to help with that question.
Bowie - If you have followed a process of turning machine off at power point, wait before turning it back on, making sure machine is leveled, remove the wash load, perform rinse cycle and it is still giving you a fault then you will need to call Fisher & Paykel. Hope you sort it out. I have the 10kg WA1068P and have had no faults, but the installation instructions/user guides does not list the fault codes and their meanings anyway.
Thank you guys will call them up and see what happen!

I've had an error 49 which ended up being controller board based. So replaced the board (420093 SD11) with an SD12 board, connected it all up except for diverter harness, since my SD11 board never had this. (Australia based by the way). Ran a test cycle and came up with Error 51, diverter fault. So....what do I do, since I never had this diverter in the first place, so nowhere to connect this "new" harness ???

Due to the risk of injury or even death, Fisher & Paykel strongly recommend that servicing electrical appliances be carried out only by suitably qualified persons and as such we are unable to supply you with the technical information you have requested.
The electrical appliance industry in Australasia has gone to great lengths over the last few years to try and reduce the amount of injuries and deaths caused by non-qualified persons attempting to carry out their own electrical repairs, by introducing laws making it illegal to carry out these repairs.
Fisher & Paykel are firm supporters of the message that electrical authorities are spreading. By supplying technical diagrams and service manuals to the unqualified person, Fisher & Paykel may be held responsible in the event an accident was to occur as the result of an incompetent repair. In no way are we questioning your own ability to undertake these types of repairs, however our policy must apply to all with no exceptions.
We have our own Authorised repairers who receive up-to-date information and technical bulletins regarding our specific appliances. If you would like to schedule a technician to attend to your appliance, please call our 24-hour Customer Care Centre on 1300 650 590.
