If you have a long-range fuel tank fitted with your purchase is the fuel gauge re-calibrated?
I have a problem with a 2008 3l ford ranger. When you turn the key you only get the battery light, oil persure light and its takes about 10 turn of the key to get the glow plug light and the check engine light. We have checked the glow plugs and all fine and still have the problem and its getting worse just seeing if someone could help me out cheers
Hi there have 2008 3lt diesel ranger 2wd engine revs are constant but the tacho goes beyond what revs the engine is doing fluctuating and now occasionally the speedo fuel gauge and temp gauge will carry on like a tacho all at the same time.
thanks
Hi there. My 2017 Wildtrack's parker lights stay on after ignition off, and a chime that only goes away when the door is shut. This only started happening yesterday, went through all of the security menu's, then disconnected battery to save going flat, and hoping to reset whatever is wrong.
No difference this morning, Ford cant look at it for 7 days.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
I have a 2016 and the park lights come on everytime door opens. Park lights also remain on if switch left on regardless of key not being in ignition.
Hey lads, I’ve got 2013 px1 3.2 Ford Ranger & just recently it started vibrating under my feet so I checked it out & realised that my RH cv joint wasn’t all the way in, so put it back in for it to just come straight back out with the littlest of moments. Any idea what could be causing this? Cheers
I have a whistling sound that sounds like it comes from the engine when I accelerate. Has anyone else had this?
Turbo
Just the turbo whistle, more noticeable when cold and at lower engine rpm
Hi guys, I have the 3.0 diesel. Recently replaced the injector seals and now won't start.. been in back yard for 3 weeks, I have bleed the fuel lines but no luck.. any help?
Transmission light has just started coming on. Had transmission scanned and no issues found. Getting it serviced anyway in a couple of weeks. Still coming on, mainly on the highway. Goes into limp mode. When I turn the car off, then back on, the light is gone and it’s good to go again. Weird.
Crack in Intercooler check that
exactly the same thing happened to me it’s a common thing to have happen
Cheers mate. Yeah I’ve been reading a few things about these notorious intercooler hoses on the cool side and the fact they tend to split/crack.
Yes same thing happened to mine I’ve just had a turbo blown on me 4 days after I had a new engine installed
oil in cooling water can this be related to turbo cooling
no, the turbo is not water-cooled and is only oil cooled, that sounds more like the EGR block on the top of the motor has gone bad, they aren't too expensive to replace.
I have a pk ranger 2010 recently took inlet manifold off for clean as its done 324 000 km and it was chocked up bad so egr blocker in cleaned manifold and as im doing it noticed that intercooler hose was split was still boosting to 14/15 psi but lazy ish so fixed hose and put all back together and now boost is instantly great to 15psi but if im just at part throttle it will spike up and like from 5 to 9 and keep going up and down its strange only since fixed hose any idears on how to solve this problem?
2014 ranger 2.2L turbo diesel-- its mates car and hes ask me to look over it, ive notice that theres oil over the intercooler on the throttle body side, i check the turbo side and theres no oil there? so then i checked the intercooler piping and they looked fine no cracks etc. im going to look over it more tomorrow start pulling stuff off to see where its coming from but i thought i would do post so that maybe someone has had this problem before thanks chris.
I have a 2008 ford ranger 3.0tdci. About a month ago i ran out of diesel and from there the bakkie have lost power. Took it for 2 seperate diagnostic tests and both pick up a airbag problem but nothing on engine or any censors. I replaced the diesel filter, airfilter and the airfilter pipe because it was teared on 2 places. can someone help please?
The high pressure fuel pump may have been damaged when you tan it out. The pump uses the fuel as it's lubrication and if run dry the pump components can get dry scoring occur, same with any water in f...
Read moreuel, the pumps are built now with extremely tight tolleremces to achieve the required rail pressure, once they run dry damage can occur quick so you may be experiencing lower than normal fuel pressure, won't take much of a pressure drop to be noticed but won't be enough to set off low fuel pressure warning light or log any code.I have just purchased a 2010 Ford Ranger with the 3litre WEAT engine. Engine was seized and stripping it down to see how much damage but can not remove the High pressure fuel pump to remove front engine cover. Any help will be appreciated
Hi everyone,
I have issues with my Ford ranger 2013, traction light is on and power comes down and when I turn engine off its okay for a while and then comes on again.
When towing - loss of power or boost. No instrument indication as to why. Switch off & on, ran ok for short time then back to no power. Any reason why ???
Had similar issues with my work vehicle. 2016 px2. I tracked it to a faulty map sensor in the air box. They only $120 from ford which kinda yells you they are a weak point when priced that cheap. Have...
Read more replaced two now. Sometime I get a check engine light other times it's just in limp mode without telling you. I've since found that if I actually wait till all the check lights go out before starting engine the problem hasn't been back. If I get impatient and just key it to start right away then all sorts of erronus data gets logged. Seems it needs a period before engine start of ten seconds to warm up sensor before correct readings occur. Hope this helps.Thanks. Turned out to be at the service the lines were mixed up on the fuel filter. All fixed now.
i have a 2007 ford ranger pj, 3.0l diesel. on every cold start it smokes white like crazy for a minute or 2 till warmed up, can smell the unburnt diesel, is also down on power atm like its running on 3 cylinders, changed the oil and that smelt of diesel aswell. pulled the injectors out and had them tested as thought one may be leaking but alll 4 injectors tested fine and are within bosh specs. doesnt use water or oil, but computer pulls up fault code P0304, am completely stumped as to what it could be now, hoping its not pistion rings but only a compression and leak down test would figure that one out, anyone else had similar issues ?
Yeah mate mine does the same we have done the turbo injectors map sensor the sensor on the air box glow plugs the only thing I can think off is the glow plug timer relay
