Disgusting service, six weeks later and still no claim processed despite promises
i put in my first claim as directed. waited two weeks and then called. Oh we are missing information. we need ALL the dogs information from ALL the vets its been to. me: why wasnt i asked for it instead of waiting and having to call u back. them: i dont know. sent the info, wait again, nothing. call again. same response, so this time they call the vet while im on the phone despite having it twice already. ok promised it will be done. yep you guessed it nothing. i call, same answer. i ask to be put through to cancel it. then get put through to a...Read more
n aussie. the information was still missed. he calls and gets it and promises the refund. mhmmmm nothing. i was told that because my claim is in, if i cancel i have ot pay out the year. so im stuck with a company that i would NEVER choose again. appalling lack of customer service.

worst pet insurance I have ever dealt with
We have two dogs with Guide Dogs Pet Insurance after having been with another pet insurance. The only reason why we left the other one was because of cost, it was getting more expensive then our own private health insurance. One of our dogs is 7 and the other just over 1 year old. This is the second time we have claimed and both were with the 1 year old. The first claim went through really smoothly and was for her desexing. rgency visit to an after hours vet hospital, that is when the problems started. They wanted all of the vet history. I got hold of the only other vet visits which was for her vaccinations and sent it through. We still kept getting letters for further vet history. It took four phone calls and numerous unanswered emails advising that they had all the vet history and there were no more vet visits since we bought her from a breeder. After one lot of phone calls a month later I got an email saying it was ready to be processed and would take5 to 10 days to process. This didn't happen and they requested more vet history and I had to make two more phone calls telling them they had all the history. We finally got paid after two months and still got another letter asking for more vet history. I was really not happy by the third and fourth phone calls. I really am not looking forward to putting in a claim for our 7 year old who we have had since he was a puppy. This is the first time I have had to provide full vet history for a pet insurance claim as we didn't have to with the other company and they generally paid all except for the excess.2 comments

Really good service
Easy set up, easy to lodge claims and fast refunds, will not go with a different pet insurance company. Customer service is always fast and they will resolve any issues promptly.

Easy claim experience
Very easy claiming experience after my puppy was attacked by another dog. Customer support staff were easy to deal with and my vet was able to submit the claim directly on my behalf. The benefit was also paid quickly, which was a huge help given the overall cost of the surgery!

My experience was great
I found it easy and very polite totally informed and happy to deal with guide dogs the policy l choose was right for my dog l was with guide dogs for a while but forgot to give my new card details so it was great they contacted me

Best idea ever
Never had pet Insurance before, Guide Dogs Insurance is good value and claims are really easy. The policy was easy to set and claims are remitted very quickly, couldn't be happier.

Perfect for my little puppy
What you cover is great but just don't understand why my policy didn't start when I picked up my pup on a Saturday waiting till Monday midnight doesn't make sense. However what you cover is fantastic.

I think that it is the right policy for our requirements
I have only set up my policy within the last few days so have not used it as such. After spending the previous day giving myself a headache trying to compare policies online, I had decided to go with another insurer. However, after receiving a call from Andrew your representative he helped me by pointing out some major benefits that were not offered with the other company. He answered all of my questions and I am now fully confident that I have the best policy to suit our requirements. I am very glad that he rang.

I purchased the policy 1hour ago, obviously, I can't rate it yet. I purchased the policy online.
I was about to hit submit when I received an uneccesary and annoying call from your representative (10 minutes after obtaining the online quote) . The polite hard sell is bad.

It's the only sensible choice for my dog.
The policy is the most appealing to me on the market.
I tried to set it up on the website three times no luck. I couldn't finalise the quote. I then called the call centre to get the required results.
This is my first time I've ever insured my dog. So 2 days with the company.

At the moment not happy with Guide Dog Pet Insurance
(1) Having an issue with loading the Vets files onto the web, have issued a request 3 times now for IT to look at the problem, I sent screen shots, not resolved.
(2) Last claim which was issued, the Assessors didn’t let me or the Vet know there was more information required. 2 phone calls to receive this answer. Phoned Vet for follow up, apparently additional information was sent last Friday, let’s see when I get paid?
