Terrible. Terrible. TERRIBLE.
Physical StoresDo not bother going into these stores. Very unhelpful staff that don't give a toss about you as a customer.
They refuse to give exchanges/refunds even though you have a fully valid receipt and it's within the 20 days.
Very disappointed customer. Now an ex customer.
Will not be going there again.
High inflated prices, always on sale, unhelpful staff, rude, accuse you of falsely doing something.
Arrogant, unwilling to listen to your concerns etc.
Prices better at other stores like big w, k mart, harvey norman, in hi fi, etc.

Purchased bluestone pots and pan kit
Physical StoresPurchased Bluestone Pots and Pan kit - which was a bargain stating it was $500 and reduced to $100 at Epping store, Took it home and spent an hour trying to fit the Pan handle to the Pan, then Finally realised when the larger Pan handle fitted straight away, that this was a manufacturing fault becasue the screw would just not go in because the threading was crooked. To make matter worse I noticed this pan had the rubber bit missing and the other pan did not, so this was repacked and put back on shelf so another customer had returned it and H

The sticky tape was not perfect but i just ignored it because I thought its just like that because staff check it for missing parts. Anyway very angry as I have to ring up for return and explain all of this to them and spend waste more time. You get what you pay for sometimes. No price match!!!!
Physical StoresHarris scarfe has a pair of Julius Marlow shoes for $99 saw the same shoes on catch for $67 went to find out about price match and the answer was "we don't price match with online stores " it does not say that on they price match website, catch is an Australian online retail store but it was like banging your head against a brick wall!!! I showed them they price match guarantee but nothing, very disappointed in you Harris scarfe, won't be shopping with you anymore!!!
HS always on ‘sale’
Physical StoresI’m wary of stores who always have sales like HS. But are they really sales? With HS I highly doubt it because they heavily inflate the prices then put a 50% off sign above it. Even with the discount, the price is much higher than it’s worth. Sometimes you can prove this by looking at the same brand in Big W. HS stock their own brands too like Westcape, so it’s harder to check, but this brand is still overpriced even when it’s on sale. I only buy from HS now if I am desperate.

It's a rip off
Physical StoresMy husband bought me a Tramontina coffee plunger and he was pleased to be told it was marked down from $69.95 to a price of $39.95. I have had previous issues before at Harris Scarfe having items supposedly marked down so I checked the price on line and discovered that they were priced at $35 at Big W and was not on sale. It is dishonest and misleading to make you believe it is a bargain, it is just deceitful! I won't be buying from HS again unless I check out the correct retail price first.

Well used bathroom scales
Physical StoresJust bought a set of weightwatchers bathroom scales - they have clearly been used with the rubber footings actually worn at the bottom. Plus they don’t work - now I have to got back in and get a new set - not happy - surely they check returns before they put them back in circulation.

So made the special trip (11 kms each way) to buy 1 Baccarat saucepan and another item. I met two staff at the saucepan section and asked where these saucepans were..Haven't stocked them for FIVE years. The 2 people were Michelle..equally nice and helpful and Andrew. I loved the Harris Scarfe store at The Glen and was (and still am) so sad when it closed permanently, prior to the re-build. Over the years, I have got LOTS of great products at affordable prices at this shop. Never trust the price reductions!!
Physical StoresOn Boxing Day I saw VS Sasson Mens grooming style kit reduced from $79.95 to $55. I asked my nephew to if he liked it and he checked online and said Myers were selling for $45. We took that to the counter and when we said that they price matched. However I found out from VS Sasson website RRP is $59.95. Harris Scarfe increased the price and drop it a bit. I also found out that Harveynorman sells it for $44. Never ever i shall trust their price reductions and sales.

Bought a set of bluestone pans for $79.95

New Bronson Polos terrible
Physical StoresThe new big men’s range of Bronson Polo shirts Is terrible. Harris Scarfe changed them from Cotton polyester to plain cotton last season. These have always been a fantastic shirt up until recently. They now shrink in the length and stretch in the width making them look awful after one wash. Please change them back.

Hassle free exchange-without receipt
Physical StoresI nervously went to exchange sheets at Tarneit store, knowing I had no receipt. No problem! The operator was so friendly and polite. I knew the purchase date from a bank statement, and she found it on their system immediately. She even offered a refund. Lovely experience.
Advertised products not available I.
Physical StoresWe went to the the Marion store today to buy a kettle advertised on their website. We could not find it and we made enquiries about the product and then told us that we must have been mistaken. I took out my phone and showed the advertised product and its price. The woman just told us that they did not have the prod for ages and we possibly could get it online and pay freight. We walked out as the lady was not interested to help at all. It will be a very long time until we visit the store again as we hate trap advertisements.
Rubbish return policy
Physical StoresI accidentally purchased the wrong pillows, I was supposed to buy classic dunlop pillows but instead grabbed the high profile one, I purchased two at $79 each. I used them that night with a pillow case and was very uncomfortable as they are for larger people, my wife also complained. We took them out of the pillow cases and back into the plastic covers. Anyway for all those pillow buyers, put a pillow case over the plastic bag and try it for one night first. Physical StoresWaiting in a queue of about ten customer with ONE checkout person. Took her 5 minutes to make an announcement asking for help. When a customer in the queue said “I was just going to ask you to call for help” the service woman looked disgusted with no response. Unacceptable unprofessional and unnecessary. Physical StoresThe staff at top ryde store are so Rude. I asked a young girl if she could check a price for me and she yelled back saying shes fixing the cupboard and told me to wait.
Anyways I waited and walked to the check out with her and I asked if she had any more electric blanket online.

Toaster was faulty so rang the store on 6/9 explained the situation and was told by the staff member I could bring in for a credit with my receipt. Physical StoresI bought a multicooker and when I got it home the recipe book wasn't in box. When I rang the store, their response was they would photocopy a book but I had to go back to the store to get it. As I'm an hour away from the store I don't think this is good enough-I asked if it could be emailed or posted out but this was met with a no.

Physical Stores1. The vacuum cleaner price tag was for a vacuum cleaner in another section of the store so I had to go traipsing. Another vacuum cleaner wasn’t signed correctly either.
2. The mugs I bought were excluded from the 40% off all chinaware. Tiny writing at the bottom of the sign!

Physical StoresToday, 22nd April 2018, I went to Tarneit harris scarfe store along with my little one 1.5 years old. I took the Scanpan commercial stainless steel frypan 30cm to the counter and presented my harris scarfe value plus card and $25 Bonus Gift Card. There are two lady's at the counter and both of them don't know how to operate. By the way, this is first time I am using this harris scarfe card. Then the scanpan is now for $64.95. On my $25 Bonus Gift card, the terms 1st point says "Present this $25 Gift card and receive an extra $25 off your first Purchase with your Harris Scarfe Value plus card". So, As this is my first purchase by using the Value Plus card, I should be getting a total of $50 off and I should be paying only $14.95 for the item. But the lady over the counter said, it's only $25 off and not $50 off. I again told her to read the first point and she said the same again. As my little one is crying, I just left the store without buying anything. Then after I came back home, I called the customer service on 1300 131 444 and they spoke to me for about 55 mins over the phone and still didn't resolved my problem. The lady first said from the 1st point on the Bonus gift card, it actually should be $50 off, but again she said let me check with her manager and after checking with her manager and again spoken to the Tarneit store, she said they still need to check the promotion which applied to my card and one of their team member will call me tomorrow to address the issue. As they have literally taken more than 1 and 1/2 hours of my time, and they literally annoyed me so much, i demanded that i should be getting the item that i am buying for free. Lets see what reply I will be getting from them tomorrow. Now on 23rd April 2018, a staff from the harris scarfe customer service called me and again keep discussing about the same points and no resolution yet. Another 10 mins of time. I asked her how much more time i need to spend discussing on this to have the resolution and she said the next call will be the final with the resolution.At last they gave me a discount card for $50. But if you all see the whole experience is very bad.

POOR STORE POLICY
Physical StoresI spent a long time picking a handbag which the sign said this brand was marked 40% OFF. There were 6 or seven of the same bag marked the same price as mine. When Igot to the register I did not get my 40%off as the girl said the bags had been marked incorrectly. I argued very politley if thats what the bags are marked at thats what i should pay .She said the store reserves the right to remove my bag and the other bags for sale.I came away with no bag and no faith in this store which by the way was Fountain Gate. VERY VERY VERY POOR

Was looking for a specific pillow on a special promotion, and couldn't make it to other HS outlets except the one on Spencer St. Called them and was told they were out of stock, but Jenny, the Store Manager caught me off-guard. She said she would personally source the pillow for me from a sister outlet! Pillow was also ready for collection on promised date. Top notch experience, and will be telling friends about HS, especially this outlet! If there's a higher position, please promote Jenny!
