Ordered Online but product SOLD before I got there for pick-up
I recently ordered a product online with next day in store pick-up. I received confirmation of the order and notification that it was ready to pick -up. I even rang the store beforehand to check the item was there for pick-up and told it was available. Since we were travelling several hours to get to the store I was a bit paranoid. With good reason. The item was not there when we arrived - it had been SOLD. Unfortunately the system that stops the last one being sold did not work on this occasion! Kudos to the salesperson who dealt with the situation professionally but Harvey Norman needs to have more reliable systems in place. Would give no stars if possible.

Terrible Service in store
Retail staff provides zero information about additional fees included in the delivery/installation of home appliances. Promised everything to be included in the price. In reality once they obtain your credit card details they ignore you forever.
Stay away from Harvey Norman.

Haier Washing Machine
Purchased a Haier washing machine a day before and it's giving error, called the manufacturer and they are Ok to get a replacement, but for that Harvey Norman Broadmeadows store needs to call them, called the store couple of times and they said they will get back to me shortly, and no one has contacted yet.

Terrible Service by Passive Aggressive Harvey Norman Staff Member
Went into Harvey Norman - Marion SA to buy a small appliance on 26.11.19. Firstly I had to wait while a clutch of staff members chatted amongst them selves. Then the young woman who "helped" was Passive Aggressive and unhelpful. Harvey Norman you need to train your staff

Some problems with their customer service. Sold a faulty aircon to me and not ready to take it back the next day. and salesman talks in unfriendly language. More focused on money.

Fisher & Paykel Refrigerator
After many months of shopping around for what actually suited my needs I returned to Harvey Normans and purchased a Fischer & Paykel frig/freezer. It has the least kw usage this I needed because we are off grid. Wonderful sales person. Going back for a microwave next.

Never again
Absolutely appalling customer service at Armadale WA when asking for a refund. I know about their refund policy but there's a genuine reason why I asked. They would not listen to reason & I walked out with a store credit which is useless to me. Their staff need to be educated on customer service

Harvey Norman or Harvey Hopeless
I went in-store 3 weeks nearly 4 weeks ago now, seeking to buy a replacement filter kit for my vacuum cleaner and low and behold they sell the vacuums but when it comes to replacement filters for the electrolux they DO NOT keep them BUT they DO keep the filter sets and accessories for their other brands, bad enough but it gets worse, due to them not keeping my electrolux filter parts in stock I had to then place an order with staff to get my filters in, that was 3 weeks ago and I am still waiting to hear from them, they said my filters would be...Read more
7 days coming in or did I mistakenly hear 7 days when they meant 7 months !! Basically if you sell a product you keep some necessary parts and accessories in-store and in stock especially when I could purchase replacement filters for other brands of Vacuum's...all except the electrolux, come on people get yourself together and run your business properly and if you had be running your business correctly I wouldn't have had to come here to give you a 1 star rating, especially when I was told...we will ring you when your item arrives, i'm still waiting people how hard is it too pick up the phone and it's only coming from Melbourne which is an overnight run either boat or plane, so it shouldn't be taking this long either and if it is then you guys need to change your courier/s.Similar opinion? Great Service
My partner and I visited the Marion store today to purchase a refrigerator and a front load washing machine. We were attended by Lara, and we were absolutely delighted with the time she spent with us, understanding our needs, and also her product knowledge. We left feeling satisfied that we had purchased the right products for us from the quite extensive range of both items, and are certainly confirmed Harvey Norman customers for our future needs. She is a gem!

Their prices are usually matched or discounted.

Worst attitude ever
So I spend $4500 on ASKO washing machine and dryer in July 2022. Since then washing machine broke down in September now dryer is not working. I understand under warranty but when I rang Bundall store this morning and spoke to the salesperson who I purchased from (and spent much time with as I wanted the best)
simply had the attitude of and I quote ...What do you want me to do about it ...for a company who prides themselves on service I was shocked a good morning sorry to hear that might have gone down just a little better...not happy Jan $4500 is a lot of money in my house and I am bitterly disappointed.

Never again, contractor recommended By HN to fit Airconditioning tried ripping elderly parents off asking them to pay extra for installation. Then saying that they needed extra parts when they didnt. When it became obvious that they were not going to get extra money off them messed up circuit board so new oven didnt work anymore. When we rang back the contractor he said he can fix it but we would have to pay $170 call out fee??? Rang HN who didnt give a dam. Said it was nothing to do with them speak to contractor. Terrible customer service! Never again

Sold non compliant oven/ bad customer service
We purchased an ILVE free standing duel from Harvey Norman and had it insalled on 19/11/19 which we know was floor stock however it was delivered as not being compliant as it had a 10amp power cord attached for the electric oven component. When we turned on the oven for the first time the thermostat would not work so we rang the ILve service team and they arranged a service technician to inspect the oven, the thermostat was fixed but the technician from CE Electrics GOld Coast said he would give the oven a once over as it had just been insalled...Read more
, he advised us that the power cord was a 10amp plug but the oven need a 15amp plug and if we continued to use the oven would have burn out, and that this also would void warranty as the power cord should have been removed before it left the store so that it could be hard wired . Spoke with the sales person who sold us the oven at Harvey Norman at Bundall, who passed the buck stating it was the responsibility of the our electrician . Harvey Norman took no responsibility for the non compliant oven and only after advising them that we had spoken to Consumer Affairs that they decided to send their electrician to hard wire it. We spoke with our own electrician and he advised he would hard wire it for us. This is the second time that we have had to contact Consumer Affairs with regard to damaged goods or non compliant items. These purchases were large ticket items. My beef is that had the thermostat been functioning on our oven we would never have know the power point was not compliant, I did upon the purchase of the oven ask the Sales person if the Ilve oven was Australian complant being a ILVE oven made overseas and she said YES it was, well really it was not. Phillips Coffee machine
This review is more about the attitude of Harvey Norman as opposed to the machine. I purchased the new Phillips/Lor machine to enable me to make two cups of coffee at the same time as advertised. When I got home I discovered that the machine will not fit my cusps they are wide at the top. I am not going to purchase a whole new set of cups just to fit one single application. then the most arrogant (expletive deleted) Manager came and in no uncertain terms told me I was not entitled to a refund even though he agreed that the machine did fit my purpose but due to the fact that I didn't bring my whole dinner service into the shop prior to purchasing the machine I failed in my duty to examine the product to the fullest extent and therefore was not entitled to a refund. I advised this short minded person that over the years I have been a loyal Harvey Norman customer and have spent many thousands of dollars in various Harvey Norman stores. His reply, Oh well! My advice is don't shop at Harvey Norman, if you have an issue they will ignore you and walk away. No more Harvey Norman for me. Update: Store Management The Manager at Chirnside Park has a disgusting customer service attitude. I bought a product that when I got it home was clearly not suitable for it's intended use but when I asked for a refund I was told that as I did not bring my full dinner setting in with me and test it in store it was my fault and no refund would be authorised. All this for a machine worth $149 after a cash back, so the profit would be around $20. Harvey Norman must be doing it hard when a loyal customer of some twenty years, who has spent manny thousands of dollars with them can be simply cast away so flippantly. Good luck in the future I say you have just lost my business for the rest of my life and believe me I will be needing heaps of stuff but not a cent to Harvey Norman ever again.Similar opinion? Price matches paradise
My sales assistant helped me through all my purchases for our kitchen renovation. Their transparency was phenomenal. They ensured that I was aware of all relevant bonus offers, had great product knowledge and allowed me to online search in real time for better prices and would price match workout fail at every opportunity. I literally saved hundreds of dollars. Availability and delivery where second to none.

The Best Service from Swan Hill Harvey Norman!!
I purchased a New Fridge from Harvey Norman, Swan Hill earlier this week. The Standard of Service that I received was Very High!! Josh Mangles was the Salesperson and he made this purchase experience 5 star. Very helpful, efficient and went out of his way to help me. This experience was excellent from the start to delivery of my fridge. The 2 Delivery Men from Harvey Norman, Swan Hill, went out of their way to meet my needs. They were friendly, considerate and extra careful when placing my new fridge in the kitchen. I could not have asked for better service from them both!! I only hope that Harvey Norman monitor Product Review and pass on my "Thanks" to all 3 young men.
