Even in the midst of all the social isolation challenges this year Jenny was really helpful and worked overtime to get our application completed. She was friendly and personable to work with and kept us constantly up to date with the progress of our application. We found Homestar to be very thorough and professional through the whole process are so happy with our new home and loan and love the low rate!

I refinanced my mortgage with Homestar Finance. The rates are very competitive and the service was good. One point I am unsure about is whether they follow the RBA rate cuts, and just make sure you ask about any promotional rates for new loans. I was unaware about a special mortgage interest rate which I thought I qualified for, because the mortgage settled after the promotion commenced but the rate was not applied to my loan. In any event, the rates are still very low.

Homestar provided a better rate than the brokers and were extremely helpful and easy to deal with directly. They are worth talking to if you are considering applying for a loan or considering switching lenders.

Jim from Homestar was extremely patient in his assistance with refinancing my home loan.
Loan rates are very competitive. Keep in mind, cost of refinancing can be high and legal fees were slightly higher than I had anticipated.
All in all, I was very pleased with the customer service I experience from Jim.

Pros: Excellent interest rate and a great optional offset account feature. Certainly recommended if you are refinancing when not in hurry. Knowledgeable agents and a clear definition of fees from the start. Great customer service.
Cons: Only passed on 10 basis points out of latest 25 points rate cut by RBA. No phone app. Prepare to experience delays in processing as a lot of paperwork is required to be gathered/processed, and this should be considered if you are on a tight settlement deadline. Very basic internet banking portal

He was very easy to talk with and provided great guidance on the products on offer. we then dealt with Ash who got the ball rolling and kept us informed of the whole process and helped with all documentation that was required.Fantastic service and the best rates and products around. so glad we made the switch.

Very happy with their rates and what they had to offer. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing that we found disappointing was the delay in the whole process took just under 6 months and we had to submit our documentation twice, which was very frustrating.

Contacted Homestar as they had some of the cheapest rates in the market. They were quick, responsive and transparent about all the fees involved. Great experience with them, thoroughly recommend!!

Beware if you decide to use this outfit. Their systems are useless. There are so many third parties involved as part of their process and none of them could care less.

The one shining light was I was very lucky to have a gentleman (Jim Kiloh) as my mortgage specialist and he was instrumental in getting us to the point of finalising the mortgage. Very knowledgeable, great communicator and extremely affable. The issues are with the third party back office systems in use. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jim in a heartbeat.

He made this process so easy by being a great communicator, extremely helpful, personable and with excellent, almost instant answers to my questions. Glad to be rid of the bank wouldn't budge on their comparative ridiculously high interest rate! Glad I made the switch.
