Great little vacuum for quick clean ups

published

This vacuum cleaner has been quite handy for quickly cleaning up a small spill or the back door-way where grass and dirt are constantly being walked across the tiles. It does a pretty good job of removing most loose debris from carpeted floor, but occasionally something might need to be gone over a few times to pick up everything. The detachable hand-held section makes it a breeze to get into tighter areas and it is great for quickly going over the car floor with. I would definitely reccommend this Vacuum for anyone looking for a small vacuum to quickly run over the floors when you don't feel like plugging in the full powered vacuum.

Just average

published

I'm not totally happy with the performance.
I purchased the stick vac to pick up the mess the dog tends to bring inside. Worked well for the first few times but find I have to stop and clean out the chute and pipe to the dust collector.
It is easy to use and light enough for the small jobs, does have a small whistle to it, which can get annoying.
I use it on tiles and carpet, so people with a small unit would find it wonderful and easy to store compared to a bigger vacuum cleaner.

Cheap and Does the work

Better than my old more expensive vacuum. Have carpet in apartment and lot of dust around so must use it daily. Wasn't sure it was working so quiet and light but it's excellent. Bought it on sale with a further reduction by very helpful salesman who said its worth the money

Love it!!!

published

This is my first stick vac and I love it. I bought it just to do touch up cleans as I also have a corded dyson. I haven't used my dyson now for 3 months. I use this hoover every day as it is so quick and easy to use and does a great job (if you keep the dustbin clean). I get through my whole house 3bedroom 2bathroom without the battery going flat.

I Never Thought I Could Love A Vacuum Cleaner

published

It's so light and easy to use. I use it mostly for the tiled areas and stairs, areas where it excels. I've kept my bigger vacuum for the carpeted areas. I love the HEPA filter too. I live with a dog and cat, so vacuuming furniture especially is less of a chore.

Cons - I'm finding it difficult to remove the dust cup for emptying.

Does not suck up dirt?

published

I purchased the vacuum a few months ago. I realised that the product does not do its job well and it is becoming worse. It cannot suck the dirt up and whenever I lift the vacuum stick above the ground the dirt is expelled from the floor piece. I have made sure the brush is clean and the dirt storage compartment is empty and it is still the same. Now waiting for Godfrey's response not sure if they are helpful.

Great Product

published

Doesn't replace my Hoover barrel vac but is great for every day use. About once a month still have to use my barrel vac for a deep clean. Wish the charger lasted longer and dust collection compartment was larger. If they were perhaps the weight of the unit would increase. . Light and easy to use. Being a partial paraplegic I find it invaluable. At this point in time still working ok but reading other reviews I will be interested to see how it goes a bit later on.

Would be good if it ever worked

published

When this vacume worked I loved it, it worked well on carpet and hard floors. After 2 months though I had to take it in as it stopped working, they replaced the charger unit then three months later it stopped working again but I was overseas and had to get the warranty extended. They replaced the spinning brush upon my return. Then a couple months after that it stopped working again but it was out of warranty and I got no response from Godfrey's. Its been sitting in my kitchen for months, works on the odd occasion but is very weak. Overall a piece of useless junk.

Well made and works well

published

I brought one a little while a go for $20 AUD second hand. ( wasn't working well - the motor head was not working and it did vacuum well)
I stripped down and was amazed at how well unit was made.
It has quality plastics, it has quality engineering and is well designed.

The head stripped and was rebuilt easily. The HEPA filter must be cleaned \ blown out \ replaced one a month

Performance is great. Good suction, ease of cleaning the filter, battery life.
and it not a bad looking machine.

If you looking for a stick vacuum before you spend $600 on a brand name give this little sucker a go.... yes it does.... Suck very well.

can I change my stars to only 3 stars.... the unit has ni cad batteries in it. So it only has a life of 18 months at max.

It is designed to be a 1 year throw away.... shame when it worked it was great...

Great for price but don't forget to clean air filter!

Great Stick Vacuum

published

We bought this stick vacuum cleaner for our daughter and her family to clean up after our grandchildren. Initially I thought it was going to be a waste of money as I am not overly fussed on rechargeable tools of any sort because in my view they need to be used on a regular basis to keep the battery conditioned.

Well I now have to eat my words, this little stick Vacuum does a fantastic job for what we bought it for, my daughters tiled & carpeted floors look very clean (including the removal of the cat hair) and it's a fight between our 2 x Grandsons (6 & 4) as to whose turn it is to use the vacuum cleaner.
The added advantage of it being a rechargeable is that because we can safely let the 2 x boys use it.

It Sucks But, Not The Dirt On The Floor

published

Hoover in Australia is not like Hoover back in the UK !
Its strange for me to say but, this Hoover SUCKS and that's not the dirt on the floor.
Its suction is very poor, branded stickers look like they were added last minute by an amateur sticker fixer and its really crap quality.
I always thought Hoover was Hoover however, someone in Australia has done a Hoover Manoeuvre on this vacuum.

Very Handy

published

Nice and light, easy to maneuver. I use it to vacuum my lounge carpet around 3x a week - it picks up all the dirt and dust to keep the area cleaner for my baby that is crawling around. It's excellent for being able to grab it quickly to pick up any food crumbs from my other children as well.

Great vacuum cleaner

published

I am very happy with both the performance and suction. That it is so light and easy to maneuver is definitely what I needed. I use it on my carpets and find that it does pick up everything. I purchased it as a result of seeing one that a friend uses and just had to have one. I have not found anything I do not like with it.

Just as a follow up - after almost 4 years this is still going strong - the battery life is shorter now but that's to be expected, I still stand by my original review

Worst stick vacuum ever!

published

Perhaps I bought a faulty unit, but most of the time the dirt and dust doesn't make it into the dirt collector compartment (which is tiny anyway) - it just sits in the rollers and falls back out onto the floor. I have tiles in the kitchen and carpet in the living and dining rooms. I haven't even bothered to try and use it in the upstairs bedrooms. Basically it's been sitting in the spare room for years and I only decided to write this review as we are moving and I found it in the cupboard. My fault for not returning it while it was still under warranty!

I would go to Jaycar electronics. If you remove the battery and give them a call they can tell you if they have it in stock. Ebay after that if no success

Hi Maria,
The red button is the on/off button for the handvac.
To release the dust bin you press down the light just below the red button.

Hi Godfrey G., I'm jumping in here, as you seem to know your stuff.
I have a Hoover Heritage 5210, it doesn't charge anymore, what is the problem, battery or charger and what can I do ? I love the versatility of the Vac! Regards Paul.
