Good Afternoon Barry
Sadly the Roomba 630 was discontinued late last year. This a since been replaced by the Roomba 637, which is very similar. The main difference between these models is that the 637 now comes with a lithium ion battery.

Did you buy one of the cheap batteries from Ebay? They are useless. In the end for my old Roomba I bought a lithium NewPower. Fantastic can run for hours.

Good Morning Betty
The Roomba 630 does not have a navigation system, so depending on the furniture around this can lead the Roomba to only clean certain areas.

Depending on how far away the dock is from the Roomba once it's battery starts running low will determine if it will dock every time. We do find as this model gets older it may not.

My apologies for the delay in my reply. We are sorry to hear your are experiencing and Error 2 so soon after purchasing your Roomba 630. This particular error relates to your Bristle, Flexible and Side Brush. These possible may need a clean. There is also a sensor under the Bristle and Flexible Brush that may also need wiping with a pencil eraser or scotch brite sponge (new and dry).

Thank you for your question, I myself started out the Roomba 630 and have an inside dog the sheds, not badly but enough to have to sweep my laminated floors constantly. I found the Roomba 630 was more than enough to keep my home tidy if used regularly every 1 to 2 days.

It mounts the docking station as normal but does not disengage for re-charge, turning right or left off the docking station. It continues to try and mount the station to dock. Any help?

Roomba 630

My Roomba 630 started making strange high pitched sounds (like an old modem connection to internet) but very loud in the middle of the night. What does that mean? there is no error code or any other messaging.
- What does the sound mean? is it battery related or requires a clean?
- is there ANY way to reduce the volume, it woke up our entire block!
the only way i could get it to stop screeching was to unscrew and remove the battery.
any help would be great, i've had it for 2yrs now.
thanks

Roomba 630

Hi, I just bought Roomba630 second hand. It works beautiful. However, I'm wondering if it returns to the dock once it run a cycle. If it does how many hours is a cycle?

2 answers
Candyl
Candyl

Hi, my machine only docks itself once it is running out of battery. I haven't counted how many hours each cycle lasts, my estimate would be at least 2-3 hours. Make sure you clean the machine inside out (including brushes etc) after every use since well maintenance will keep useful life of your machine longer. I used to have another unbranded robot vacuum cleaner which I didn't clean after every use and this machine only last for a year or less. Hope I have answered your question. Cheers!

iRobot
Malcolm R.iRobot

Good Afternoon Alex
Thank you for your question. There are many factors on if a Roomba will return to its Home Base at the end of every cycle. How old is the battery, are the Roomba and Home Base at different ends of the home and the obsticles it requires to go around to get back. Generally we would say yes it should but due to these reasons, it may not always.

The Roomba 600 series run time from full charge is approx 60 minutes, again though there are factors to consider. It is running on carpet or hard flooring, how many items of furniture it has to go around.

If you would like to contact us directly at [email protected] with your contact number we can defiantly go through alot more with in relation to your new (be it 2nd hand) purchase.

Can you move the home dock from room to room?

3 answers
In Newcastle
In Newcastle

Yes you can. It just means unplugging the dock and putting it somewhere else. Absolutely necessary in older homes where there are variations in floor level - eg. Where old has been joined to new. The dock is not very big and it has 2 shiny connector points which the Roomba sits in to close the circuit and recharge.

Yep. We do so that it can concentrate on one room.

Thank you for your questions. The above answers from your fellow customer are correct. You can move the Home Base to other locations to make getting the roomba back to charge easier.
