We bought this as we are expecting our third kid and cleaning is something we'd love to outsource.
Keep in mind the following things before you buy though:
The roomba does some things better than you ever can - ie under beds and chairs..
It doesnt do corners stairs or skirtings...
If you have a big house it requires multiple chargings and sessions.
If you are having guests in and want everything looking A1 you may have to touch up with the hand vacuum as it tends to miss things you can see.

Overall it is ok and saves time - but it doesn't do the whole house without supervision..

The Roomba 980 does work. Its a life saved and being an organised person, I like having the ability to easily schedule the unit to clean when I need it to. I always think my floors are clean but after I look at the irobot has picked up from carpet and tiles, I am always surprised. Highly recommend this model (the most premium) If you are going to invest in robot vacuum, this is certainly the one.

All hardwood floors, doesn't get right to the wall edge every time, often have to sweep around the walls then let the vacuum get it.
App doesn't work at all and is very noisy. However I would purchase another as it can't do all my floors in one day if it wasn't for the price.

Very happy with this robot vacuum. It’s small, but does a great job. I have it set to clean my lounge room floor every day, and each day I have to empty the little catch of all the dirt it finds. Every now and then it gets itself stuck in a spot it cant get out of, but that’s no issue at all.

Have been procrastinating about buying a robot vacuum for a while now, and after recently putting timber floors in the downstairs thought it would be a good idea for keeping dust and cat hair down to a minimum. Yeah, we have two long hair, housebound rag dolls, kid's pets. They moved out, we got to keep them! They were actually the main reason for my hesitance,
But back to the Roomba, it not only does a brilliant job on the timber floors, it does even a better job on the upstairs carpets! Tech is fantastic, goes everywhere - under beds, lounges and so on, then back to the base. I used to drive my wife crazy in the mornings with constant sneezing but not anymore.

The I robot Roomba is fantastic and is automatic, meaning it can operate even without you or somebody being there (Very handy.) it is mostly quite. It works perfectly on many types of floors. The performance overall is very efficient and sustainable any is definitely worth buying (if you don’t want to hastle)

Received one as a birthday gift and could not be happier with it. Use it in a daily basis as we have 2 indoor cats and the results are impressive. Gets under furniture that’s up high enough and into corners with its rotating side brush. No longer do I have to lug the bulky vacuum cleaner around every day, instead I use the iRobot daily and do a big vacuum once a week. Would definitely recommend to anyone who’s sick of vacuuming daily.

It’s very easy to work with.
Great navigation and strong vacum cleaner. Very efficient and fast. The noise is not that bad, it send report to my phone, if runs out of battery or the bag is full, send message to my mobile and notify me, after turn it back on, it will start to work from where it left off.
All in all is %100 satisfaction.

Does a great job on extra thick (not shag pile) carpet. The high suction mode works really well. There were a few teething problems i.e. taking up to 6 hours to complete a job (4.5 hours charging & 1.5 hours vacuuming) but turning off edge cleaning has brought normal cleaning time down to below 2 hours. The automatic return to base to charge means you can set and forget & be confident the job will be completed.Performance on tiled flooring is also excellent. High cost of product is justified by the performance. Have had it for just on 1 year now & would highly recommend

Bought this last boxing day. Here are what I like about it:
1. It's app is very user friendly, you can remotely control by pressing a button on the app and it will just start the job at home
2. does a very thorough job!
3. you can schedule the cleaning up to 7 times a week
4. it doesn't set off our alarm!
5. our house is consistently clean now!
6. it turns up power automatically when it detects carpet

The only down side is the power up function cannot be switched off, I feel like it could be too powerful that it's sucking away all the fibers on the carpet.

Otherwise we love it!!!

We have floorboards throughout the home. This is the best purchase we've made in 2017. With two indoor cats, trying to keep the floors tidy can be a task. We have it running every day while we're away at work and it just works.
The suction on the robot vac won't be like a normal vacuum cleaner, it complements the main vacuum. We still do our weekly corner, cracks, and crevices clean but the 980 has been a huge time saver.
I think the only barrier would be the cost, I'll admit I wouldn't pay full RRP for this but I got it for under 1k so money well spent for us.

It came at a higher price, but well worth the extra investment. I had a Roomba 870 for about 8 years and it workes every second day of the year without any problem. we've replaced the battery twice. received the 980 as a gift and it does a wonderful job. we started using the virtual wall feature, it works like a charm.

We were skeptical of a robot vacuum. Yes it's not as good as a proper Dyson Vacuum but it's great for daily vacuuming of floorboards and carpet. Yes it might take 2 hours to cover a 20 square home but if you're not at home who cares. The maps are accurate and the App is easy to use. Our only slight issue is that the filter could be easier to clean. Maybe if it had a mesh cover to stop all the dust getting directly on the filter it would be better. It's early days but the Roomba 980 is doing exactly what we expected.

I only have wood and tile floors and I only have a small area to clean, approximately 70sqm.
It takes approximately 1hr 20mins to clean the area.

I am very happy with the performance.
I remove and empty the dustbin after each use.

It bumps and closes the bathroom door and then cannot get itself out, therefore I have to make sure the door is secured in an open position.
It obviously cannot clean the skirting boards or behind doors or any spots that are too small for it to fit. For example under a shoe rack, behind a TV stand etc.

Shout out to all you Roomba uses or none uses if you haven’t got one YET!!Barb Hindle showed us her 980 machine in action and seeing it working and us sipping on a nice Shiraz at her place as the 980 did the hard yards convinced us to get one. Next day we got one. At $1499 it sounds expensive, believe me it’s not. It’s worth every cent. The job it does of our floor is sensational. You need to manage the battery life, well not really, as it does it for you, but that is it’s only weakness, if you could call it that. Life changing!!! What a machine. If u haven’t got one get one.
